francisco. from the peak to the streets celebrating pride and juneteenth. abc seven news at 430 starts now. >> from abc seven live. breaking news. >> let's get straight to that earthquake that rattled the north bay today. a 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit northern sonoma county around 1230 this afternoon. the us geological survey says it happened just east of cloverdale and 14 miles north of healdsburg. cloverdale firefighters told us they felt a small movement, but so far there are no reports of any damage or injuries. the earthquake was big enough for the usgs to send out an alert to phones ahead of time. those notifications went to anyone with an android phone or the my shape app and myshake app that is installed. that early warning system just got an upgrade this week. it's now using gps data and 1500 seismic sensors to give people more time

to drop, cover, and hold on. good afternoon, and thanks for joining us. i'm j.r. stone new at 430, a massive response from firefighters today, putting out a fire at an apartment building in san francisco. this is near taraval and 47th avenue. san francisco fire says the fire started around 215 at a two story apartment building. more than 40 firefighters helped put it out. fortunately everyone who lives there got out okay and no one was hurt. now to the day of celebration in san francisco. despite the gloomy weather, the city's second juneteenth parade spread joy through the streets of downtown and up above the city, a vibrant symbol of pride. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard shows us the record number of volunteers behind the city's 29th annual pink triangle , who champagne corks were popping on top of twin peaks for

the annual dedication of a true pride month icon. >> the pink triangle. >> we are literally here making a physical beacon for all of san francisco and all of the world to know that yes, this is a safe space. >> more than 600 volunteers started installing the triangle early saturday in the fog, using 175 pink tarps, creating the symbol that's about an acre long. >> we use this as an education tool, so people far and wide will know the meaning of the pink triangle. that is not just an abstract symbol, a colorful symbol. >> founder patrick carney says the used the pink triangle to label and shame gay prisoners and concentration camps. today, it's become a symbol of resistance, hope and love. >> this event reminds us of the terrible history of the pink triangle, but it's being used and flipped and remixed in order to elevate this community and

our exclusive live coverage of the 54th annual san francisco pride parade live on june 30th. streaming everywhere you watch abc seven. now to that vibrant celebration of freedom in downtown san francisco today, crowds lined the streets for the city's second annual juneteenth parade. the celebration stopped off a stepped off market and spear streets and ended at fulton plaza, where a festival is going on until 6:00. organizers say they are proud to showcase african american culture right in the middle of downtown. >> some people are like, oh, it should be back in fillmore or the bayview, but to be main street essentially for san francisco, that's a really big deal. i'm supporting all this love. >> i'm supporting black love out here, getting getting to be a part of bringing everybody together. >> mayor london breed was there, participating in today's event. juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021. it commemorates the emancipation of the last

enslaved black americans in the us. the actual holiday is on june 19th in the east bay, a fast moving grass fire slowed down traffic east of livermore today. the greenville fire burned 44 acres right along the altamont pass and five 8-80. the fire started just before 11 today, and firefighters stopped the spread within an hour. containment is up to 65% at this time. no one was hurt in the fire. there's no word yet on how it started. it's been a busy week for firefighters in alameda county and beyond. today's fire is the fourth grass fire in the altamont pass area. just this week. two fires started monday evening. both are under control now. so is the corral fire that burned towards tracy and san joaquin county. one week ago. at 14,000 acres, it's the state's largest fire so far this year. there are new details about the teenager who was shot to death in san francisco's dolores park this week. our media partners at

the san francisco standard report, the teen has been identified as 19 year old luis manuel arguello inglés. he was a lowell high school graduate and san jose state university student. police say he was shot multiple times wednesday night. the family of his started a go fund me page, saying in part, luis was a bright light in our lives filled with love, laughter and boundless potential. his loss has left a void in our hearts that can never be filled. a memorial was held today for a man who was shot and killed by sunnyvale police friends and family gathered to remember the life of emanuel perez. today would have been his 20th birthday. often shot perez on march 23rd at a mobile home park on vienna drive. they say they were called to the area for reports of a partially naked man with a knife. police later released this dash cam video of the confrontation, showing perez ignoring multiple commands from officers. at one point, he runs

towards an officer who opens fire. police also revealed perez was the one who made the 911 call today. an attorney for the perez family announced they are taking steps to file a lawsuit against the sunnyvale department of public safety. >> when a person calls for help that is what they should receive. the people who we pay to help us should not be out here harming us. >> the two officers involved in the shooting are both on leave pending the investigation. emotional moments as families finally reunited today after eight months held hostage by hamas, the israeli military rescued four hostages, bringing them back home to israel. a u.s. official tells abc news that the u.s. intelligence helped with today's mission. abc news reporter perry russom has the details on the operation. >> four israeli hostages who were kidnaped by hamas during

that terror attack on october 7th last year. now back on israeli soil, 21 year old ahmad murjan and 27 year old andre kozlov and 40 year old shlomi ziv rescued in a daring daytime operation, also rescued 25 year old noah ajmani. images of her being abducted went viral after that hamas attack. families now reunited with their loved ones after a long eight months. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu spoke at sheba medical center after meeting with the hostages. >> we're committed to getting the release of all the hostages and we expect hamas to release them all. but if they don't, we'll do whatever it takes to get them all back home. >> the idf says the operation took place at two separate locations in nusseirat in central gaza, israel's army releasing this video, it says, shows an aerial view of part of the mission. idf spokesman daniel hiiragi said the operation had been prepared for two weeks before it was carried out. according to israeli police, one of their officers

was killed during the operation. chief inspector arnon zmora, an officer in the counter-terrorism unit. president biden, along with french president macron, welcomed the news. >> i want to echo president macron's comments welcoming the safe rescue of four hostages that were returned to their families in israel. we won't stop working until all the hostages come home and a ceasefire is reached. >> meanwhile, the hamas run gaza health ministry is accusing israel of committing a massacre during these raids. the ministry says 150 people were killed and dozens were injured. perry russom, abc news, washington. >> plans are in the works in the north bay for a new memorial remembering the victims of the 2017 wildfires. sonoma county is asking artists to design the tribute. a memorial will be built at nagasaki community park in santa rosa. it will honor the 31 people killed in the fires across sonoma and napa counties in october of 2017, and highlight the community's strength. the county is taking

booths. that is what you are looking at right here. you can see the flashing lights on the right side of your screen. the crash happened about an hour ago on the southbound side of the bridge. we're working to figure out whether anyone is hurt. we did see an ambulance on scene and we'll update you if we get any new details during this newscast. we'll take a look at this. dramatic images from wyoming of what transportation officials are calling a catastrophic failure of a highway. this is teton pass, the road linking idaho to wyoming. this morning, the state's transportation department posted these photos of the damage left by a landslide on the mountain pass. officials say crews had been working overnight to fix a crack in the road. no one was hurt. there is no estimate on when the road can be rebuilt.

happening now caltrain service is suspended. this week between san francisco and san jose, so the agency can test out the new electric train fleet. some busses will stop at the san jose diridon palo alto and millbrae stations, but there will be no bus service at the other stations. those new electric trains are set to roll out in september. they are supposed to be faster, cleaner and more efficient. a good sign for your wallet coming from the people who track gas prices. state regulators say there's a good chance our gas prices will be more stable this fall. this fall , that is. the california energy commission says we're importing more fuel from out of state, and gas demand is going down. as more electric vehicles hit the road. they're hopeful that means we can avoid the brutal $6 per gallon we saw last september. regulars say this could all change if local refineries shut down for maintenance. what's old is new again in the dating world. singles are sick of

san francisco based eventbrite suggests there is a shift happening in the world of dating, the company says it saw more than 1.5 million searches for dating and singles events in the past year, and the number of people attending those events increased 42. eventbrite says swiping fatigue has led to singles seeking more authentic settings like social clubs and hobby groups in their search for a partner. interesting information right there. uh. it's been an interesting weather week as we're joined by francis lawson right now to talk about what's to come. it was a little gray here in the city today. foggy. >> in fact, we're seeing some hazy skies out right now. but the hazy skies are actually due to the sea spray and salt particulates trapped near the surface, especially at the coast. very unusual. >> that sounds like it'd be good. right? >> so, yeah, the air quality is not affected. but that's why we're seeing some of those hazy

skies near san francisco. and here's a look at live doppler seven. the clouds are starting to break up right now, but we still have some clouds along the coast. the winds are what is helping keep things cool, especially for inland neighborhoods. so right now it is very breezy in some spots, gusting up to 28mph at sfo in san francisco. just jumped up to 29 mile niles 29mph. novato 24 miles an hour. and so in general , we're a few degrees cooler than we were yesterday at this time. for many locations, except for santa rosa, napa. and here's some of the hazy conditions. as we can see from emeryville over san francisco. so the air quality is good to moderate. it's not too bad out there, but it's the haze caused from the salt trapped at the surface. so san francisco right now 61 degrees, oakland 63, san jose is warmer at 74, redwood city 73. and then you see cooler there in half moon bay. from mount tam, we see some of the clouds along the coast, but we're also seeing

some blue skies and some high level clouds passing through lots of inland neighborhoods are more in the 70s today, santa rosa 76, petaluma 72, napa 68. right now fairfield 79. concord and livermore in the low to mid 70s. and here's a look at the santa cruz beach, because you might want to head there next week. things are going to warm up. we've got some blue skies there. so tonight it's going to be cloudy once again. the clouds will fill in and then tomorrow we have breezy conditions again and a mix of sun and clouds. temperatures hold fairly steady for tomorrow, but then next week things will get warm to hot. monday through wednesday we'll see the 90s return for our inland neighborhoods, and even santa cruz will hit close to 80 degrees on tuesday, which will be the warmest day. so we'll see the high clouds passing through. and then tomorrow morning we'll wake up to some cloudy conditions, but we'll get breaks in the cloudiness in the afternoon before it fills in again sunday night into monday morning. lows tonight, generally

in the mid 50s for almost everybody. a little bit cooler in the north bay, some low 50s there. and then tomorrow look for numbers to be similar to what we're experiencing today. so san francisco high of 65, oakland 68 san jose 79. but warmer in santa rosa at 86 and 83. in antioch you're going to jump ahead to monday just so you see what it's going to look like. we're going to see some 90s for the inland areas. and then tuesday day near triple digits for some locations, even san francisco getting up to 73 degrees. we hold on to the heat through wednesday and then things start to cool down. so here's the accuweather seven day forecast. breezy. near average for tomorrow. warming up monday. the hottest day will be tuesday. breezy and cooler on thursday. but then we start to warm up lots of sunshine almost all of next week. >> can you believe this season marks ten years since the giants won the world series? uh- time flies. it was 2014 and this weekend the giants are in texas
