ptioned by los angeles distribution and broadcasting, inc. news. that breaking news is out of napa county. a chaotic scene tonight at lake berryessa. at least one person is dead following a brawl that ended with gunfire and people being stabbed. good evening. i'm j.r. stone. this all happened right around 530 this evening. lake berryessa is a popular recreation spot in the north bay. draws people for picnics or those who choose to go boating on the water. we've learned this all started with a fight near the shore. abc seven news reporter anser hassan is live there now. answer what can you tell us at this hour?

>> joe. good evening. we were able to confirm with napa county sheriff's office that one man was stabbed and killed. several other injured here at lake berryessa. you can see still very much an active live scene. as you mentioned, we're on the western shore, known for fishing and swimming. we know that there are people here who might be friends or family members of the victims who are seated in two separate areas. now, a spokesperson tells us they got a call around 5:30 p.m. with reports of a fight in the area. here is napa county sheriff's dispatch i-team's advising. there's an active fight going on between two groups of subjects, approximately 20 people involved fighting and stopping them, fighting again. >> or he's getting reports of possible gunshots or additional units to assist. three shots went off. windows are being broken. >> now the sheriff's office has turned off the lights as they conduct this part of their investigation. they say that there are also several stabbing victims. we know that two of

them were airlifted and taken to local hospitals, but the sheriff's office did not give us an exact number of how many other people were stabbed or their condition. right now, we don't know the condition of the others. again in the sheriff's office has also not released any information of the man who was stabbed. we don't know what led to the fight or the relationship between the two groups, if any. reporting live anser hassan abc7 news. >> answer. thanks so much. obviously, early on in this investigation, three days after the shooting death of a teenager in san francisco's dolores park, his family is remembering him as a kind, loving young man. loved ones gathered at dolores park today to share memories of 19 year old luis manuel arguello inglés. police say he was shot multiple times wednesday night. arguello inglés was a lowell high school graduate and san jose state university student. his family says he had just received his certificate to be an emt and had ambitions of becoming a firefighter.

>> every morning i wake up, since he hasn't been here, it's been the most pain i've ever felt and i would say i wish it was me, but i wouldn't want him to feel this pain. >> heartbreaking. no word on any arrests or a motive in the shooting. there is damage left behind after a crash this afternoon. very close to the golden gate bridge toll plaza. the collision happened at around 330 on the southbound side of the bridge. investigators say a tractor trailer hit one of the buildings near the toll crossing . no injuries were reported. a massive response from firefighters today putting out a fire at an apartment building in san francisco. this is near taraval and 47th avenue. san francisco fire says the fire started around 215 at a two story apartment building. more than 40 firefighters helped put it out. fortunately everyone who lives there got out okay and no one was hurt. in the north bay, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake

rattled sonoma county this afternoon. the u.s. geological survey says it happened around four miles northwest of the geysers, geotherm oil field, an area where earthquakes happen frequently. cloverdale firefighters told us they felt a small movement, but there are no reports of any damage or injuries. in the south bay, a memorial was held for a man who was shot and killed by sunnyvale police, friends and family gathered this afternoon to remember the life of emanuel perez. today would have been his 20th birthday. officer shot perez on march 23rd at a mobile home park on vienna drive. they say they were called to the area for reports of a partially naked man with a knife. police later released this body cam video of the confrontation, showing perez ignoring multiple commands from officers. at one point, he runs towards an officer who opens fire. police also revealed perez was the one who made the 911

call today. an attorney for the perez family announced they are taking steps to file a lawsuit against the sunnyvale department of public safety. >> when a person calls for help, that is what they should receive. the people who we pay to help us should not be out here harming us. >> the two officers involved in the shooting are both on leave pending the investigation. in the east bay, a fast moving grass fire slowed down traffic east of livermore today. the greenville fire burned 44 acres right along altamont pass and five 8-80 fire started just before 11 today, and firefighters stopped the spread within an hour. containment is up to 75% tonight. no one was hurt in the fire, and there's no word yet on how it started. cal fire says a vegetation fire that started wednesday in sonoma county is now 100% contained. the crystal fire burned about 60 acres in the community of saint helena, for firefighters had to

go to the hospital due to the tough conditions. cal fire says crews will remain in the area for the next couple of days. monitoring for hot spots. a new study is uncovering the brutal, hidden toll of wildfires in california. researchers at ucla say more than 50,000 californians died prematurely because of exposure to wildlife. wildfire smoke that is the study looked at deaths from 2008 to 2018. sonoma santa clara, contra costa and alameda counties had some of the highest premature deaths. the worst year was 2018, as the devastating campfire destroyed the town of paradise and smothered part of northern california in smoke. for weeks now to the day of celebration in san francisco. despite the gloomy weather, the city's second juneteenth parade spread joy through the streets of downtown and up above the city, a vibrant symbol of pride. abc seven news reporter cornell

bernard shows us the record number of volunteers behind the city's 29th annual pink triangle . >> champagne corks were popping on top of twin peaks for the annual dedication of a true pride month icon, the pink triangle. >> we are literally here making a physical beacon for all of san francisco and all of the world to know that yes, this is a safe space. >> more than 600 volunteers started installing the triangle early saturday in the fog, using 175 pink tarps, creating the symbol that's about an acre long. >> we use this as an educational tool, so people far and wide will know the meaning of the pink triangle. that is not just an abstract symbol, a colorful symbol. >> founder patrick carney says the used the pink triangle to label and shame gay prisoners and concentration camps. today, it's become a symbol of resistance, hope and love. >> this event reminds us of the terrible history of the pink

converged on fulton plaza for a festival that featured live musical performances. music had people dancing and swaying, and what looked like a really good time. the day started with a parade down market street, only the second time it's been held. it was a special day that packed lots of meaning for not only those who took part, but those who attended as well. abc seven news reporter tara campbell was there, marching down market street, a juneteenth celebration saturday in san francisco. >> mayor london breed leading the parade. >> juneteenth. i'm supporting all this love. i'm supporting black love out here, getting getting to be a part of bringing everybody together. the community together, people

lining the street. >> for the second annual juneteenth parade, organizers calling it a proud moment in the heart of the city. >> some people are like, oh, it should be back in fillmore or the bayview, but to be main street essentially for san francisco, that's a really big deal here, that the city is willing to open the street up that way. >> cheryl davis is the executive director of the san francisco human rights commission and says in time, this parade will rival others in the city. >> remember, those other parades have 50 plus years. and so we're just starting to build that momentum. but i think symbolically and just in terms of like cultural support, it's a big deal to just be here. >> it means a lot to make this big. coming from just small, small parade and fillmore to have it come down on market street for everybody. so everybody can be a part of the whole city, and you can come from anywhere and be a part of it. flags waving, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved black american. >> juneteenth becoming a federal holiday in 2021. >> i think that this holiday is

very important for black people. i think it's very important uh- raising awareness of what we've done in the nation and that a lot of history, most of the history is black history. >> so this is this is the san francisco i remember. this is the san francisco i know this is big. this is one of the this is for me. this is one of the best events of the year. >> tara campbell, abc seven news. >> you heard the fillmore mentioned in tara story, and it is going to have its own party and celebration next saturday. there will be kids zones, vendors, food, live music, and a classic car show. it will span eight city blocks and it's free to get in. the fillmore district has strong ties with the black community. it was once referred to as the harlem of the west. new details tonight about the plan to bring a new city to solano county. the group behind the california forever project is also planning to build a state of the art sports complex. the facility would include fields for baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and more. the california forever project

would bring a city of as many as 400,000 people between fairfield and rio vista next month. the county registrar of voters is expected to certify signatures collected to get the measure on the november election ballot. happening now caltrain service is suspended this weekend between san francisco and san jose, so the agency can test out the new electric train fleet. some busses will stop at the san jose diridon, palo alto and millbrae stations, but there will be no bus service at the other stations. those new electric trains are set to roll out in september. they are supposed to be faster and cleaner and more efficient, helping to build a better bay area. this morning, vta and south bay leaders held a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the start of the next phase of a major ansportation improvement project. the 2.4 mile light rail extension will extend vta service in san jose fromhe existing alum ck station to

the east ridge transit center. it will include a light rail station at story road. the new vta light rail extension is considered the final piece to connect riders from the south and east san jose with bart in milpitas, just in time for those summer vacation plans. a major path into yosemite national park will reopen monday. tiger road is used by thousands of visitors entering the park from the east. it's known for its scenic views, but it's closed each winter because snow makes the road too dangerous to drive all entrances to the park ■are open year roun. francis dinglasan joins us now with weather. it's great news that that road is open. >> yeah, and we're getting ready for the summer heat. it's heading back next week. >> we hear all about the heat. i got blasted by wind today in san francisco. i was like, what is going on? >> oh, definitely. it's been a breezy to very windy day in some spots and certain areas you feel like you're going to get blown away. >> i didn't, i didn't okay,

good. >> i'm glad. and tomorrow is going to be another breezy day. here's a look at live doppler seven. we have some high clouds passing through, but there's already some coastal clouds creeping into the bay. and speaking of those winds, right now there are 23mph in san francisco. so that's still pretty breezy. also in fairfield, 24mph, especially for this time of the evening. they will pick up again tomorrow afternoon. live shot of our roof camera shows, the embarcadero and the ferry bill. or yeah, the ferry building and even the bay bridge in the background. most temperatures are now in the 50s and 60s. san francisco's 55, oakland 59, hayward 61, san jose 63. redwood city also in the low 60s in half moon bay is down to 54 degrees, and this is a really pretty shot from mount tam where you can see some of the city lights. so there are some clear spots right now, but there's also some fog moving in from the coast. santa rosa is 55 and we see some upper 50s in napa, fairfield, concord, and also in livermore. and this time from the exploratorium. we can see some of those low clouds just

above the financial district there. so overnight will become cloudy again. so kind of a typical pattern. tomorrow we're going to see breezy conditions and a mix of sun and clouds. we'll see some high clouds passing through, but we will get more sunshine tomorrow. but the breeze will keep temperatures in check. and then next week temperatures will be warm to hot monday through wednesday. there could also be some heightened fire concerns. so right now show you what the forecast animation is for the wind gusts. notice tomorrow afternoon and evening. they will pick up to close to 30mph. san francisco, oakland and hayward. so right around the bay. very breezy, including livermore. even breezy and windy at point reyes. and then overnight, we'll also see the clouds move through the bay area. but notice by midday we'll get more sunshine. we'll see lots of clearing around the bay. we could see some clouds along the coast and then the clouds will fill in again late monday night into monday morning. we

could even see some drizzle late tomorrow night into early monday morning. so tonight's lows will drop into the mid 50s for the most part all around the bay. a little bit cooler in the north bay where it drops into 53 degrees in santa rosa, morgan hill also, and santa cruz in the low 50s. and then tomorrow afternoon look for numbers to be very similar to today, even though we're getting that sunshine, we're also going to get that sea breeze that will keep things cool. so san francisco 65, oakland 68, san jose 79. and then our warmest spots will be in the low to mid 80s like santa rosa 86. we're going to jump ahead to monday because i want to give you a preview of the 90s returning for inland neighborhoods. so we'll see some low 90s santa rosa, antioch, concord, livermore. check out tuesday near triple digits in some of our warmest locations. even san francisco, possibly in the low 70s. so on tuesday, that's when our temperatures will be anywhere from 5 to 15 degrees above average. and with the dry

of the annual escape from alcatraz triathlon events, kicked off today with a fitness festival and expo at the marina green in san francisco. the triathlon includes an 18 mile bike ride and eight mile run through the trails of the golden gate recreational area, and the one and a half mile swim from alcatraz to the shores of the saint francis yacht club. the race starts with the swim from alcatraz tomorrow at noon. always a great sight to see. there was a celebration of cycling at thrive city. today, the warriors in waymo hosted get in gear, an event aimed at teaching young people the importance of bicycle safety. warriors alumni festus seeley was there, having a good time riding around with the kids. we have game two of the nba finals tomorrow right here on abc seven. even though they're on opposite sides, the calbert praises a calbert for his play in game one, and the giants trying to beat their former manager in texas. a hot day

since the giants last won the world series. it was 2014 and this weekend the giants are in texas facing the manager, who helped make it happen, bruce bochy, who is now managing the rangers, who happens to be the defending world series champion. that's four world series titles for bochy. the rangers are under 500 so far this season. top of the first we go austin slater walk to lead off the game and elliott ramos drives him in with a11. nothing. giants just like that in the third we go slater on base again for ramos. and this time he drives both of them in right there. shot to left. that gets out in a hurry. two run homer makes it 3 to 1. his fourth long ball in the last six games. still three one in the ninth camilo doval allows two men to reach but gets loud. tavarez to fly out to end it right there. giants win 3 to 1. they've won three straight and go for the sweep tomorrow. always a good time when they win pride day at the coliseum. the a's and blue jays one time giant kevin gausman dealing for the

after being held for months by hamas for israeli hostages, are free tonight after a dangerous rescue mission inside gaza. the israeli defense forces released video of them being reunited with relatives. two weeks of planning went into that operation that started at first light, seeking to catch hamas

off guard. hamas has called the raids a massacre, claiming hundreds of people were killed or injured. abc's david packer is following this story for us, for israel. >> hostages now back on israeli soil. rescued during daytime raids in gaza. the hostages now free after 246 days in captivity. finally reunited with family and friends. video of noah argaman being kidnaped by hamas back on october 7th, going viral following that hamas attack. but on saturday, newly released video showing the 25 year old as she boarded a helicopter after being rescued by israeli forces, then reunited with her father on his birthday. the idf says, quote, intelligence based operations focused on two apartment buildings in nuseirat in central gaza. releasing this video, it says, shows part of the mission. according to the idf, planning for the joint operation began two weeks ago and involved strikes from the air, land and sea. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu spoke at

dead tonight. >> investigators say the body of an inmate identified as smiley martin was found in his cell inside the sacramento county jail. martin, his brother and a third man are charged in the murders of three women killed in a gunfight outside of a group of nightclubs in april of 2022. three other people were killed and 12 more injured in that shootout. a southern california police department is facing scrutiny tonight after security video surfaced appearing to show officers dumping an unhoused man on a sidewalk in another jurisdiction. this video from thursday shows two officers pulling up in front of the los angeles city council president's office in north hollywood. they get out of the car, open the back door and remove a man in handcuffs. police! get back into the car and drive off. as the man drops to the ground without giving any aid to this person, without determining whether there was anyone who could

provide services to this person, they say dumped him in north hollywood. >> the officers say they were actually helping the man by giving him a ride. >> the burbank police department says it's investigating the incident. take a look at this. dramatic images from wyoming of what transportation officials are calling a catastrophic failure of a highway. this is teton pass, the road linking idaho to wyoming. this morning, the state's transportation department posted these photos of the damage left by a landslide on the mountain pass. officials say crews had been working overnight to fix a crack in the road. no one was hurt. there is no estimate on when the road can be rebuilt. it doesn't look like wnba rookie sensation caitlin clark will be chasing a gold medal at the summer olympics in paris. multiple reports indicate she is not on the roster. however, another sharp shooting guard from the bay area will reportedly be on the team. walnut creek native on an honest who will make her

credit card and then was threatened to be charged with fraud. abc seven news reporter stephanie sierra has details. >> i didn't want to go to court. i'm not a criminal. >> 81 year-old alan jensen just wanted to renew his car registration. a simple task was anything but. >> look at. look at this. >> alan wound up buried in paperwork and facing legal threats. >> it's not about the money. >> his ordeal began when he went online to register his two vehicles. the top search result said dmv registration renewal. >> right there. that's what i clicked on, he assumed it was the dmv, so he followed the prompts and paid $956 to register two cars. >> he didn't notice this disclaimer in fine print at the top of the page. this was not the dmv, it was a third party company that charges extra fees for dmv services. later, he received tags for one car but not the other. a notice said that the car needed a smog check, but he knew it did not.

so he called the number. >> we're not going to send you the tags until after you've had this car smog, i said. well, no, i don't need the smog. my car. >> alan finally realized he was never on the dmv website. it was need tags.com, and it had charged $150 in extra fees. not only that, the company insisted he get a smog check. he didn't need. now his registration was about to expire, so alan drove to a dmv office, paid the fees in person, got his tags on the spot, and no smog needed. but now he'd paid twice to register that car. >> i finally got really mad. >> so alan disputed the charges with his credit card. that's when need tags came after him. they're going to bring you to court. need tags. said alan was under investigation for fraud and theft. an email said, quote, this is your final notice. any chargeback will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and you are subject to court costs,

legal fees and bank liens. there >> trying to make me feel like a criminal. >> 2324 need tags sent 30 pages of documents to alan's credit card company saying chargebacks are considered theft even though they're legal. >> i'm not a criminal. i've never been to jail. >> as he showed us mounds of paperwork, alan broke down in tears. how did a simple car registration come to this? we found dozens of complaints online about need tags, many saying the company led them to believe it was the dmv. it turns out need tags. is an official dmv partner, a delegated provider of dmv services. need tags. owner eddie azmarin did not want to go on camera, but by phone. he told us the company is dedicated to transparency and discloses fees before payment. he denied this google ad is intended to draw customers away from the free dmv site, but he may increase the size of the disclaimer. as for threatening

alan, he said legal action is justified because the company had already paid his fees to the dmv. at least some of them. however when we asked the dmv about need tag complaints, the dmv took action, saying in part, the dmv does not condone misleading or aggressive marketing strategies that might cause customers to believe they are interacting with the dmv. furthermore, we do not support any aggressive behavior or threats made by these third party services. after that, any tags refunded? alan $518 for that duplicate payment. >> i am sky high now. when i saw that it just felt so good. i knew that you had waived your magic one for seven on your side. >> i'm stephanie sierra, abc seven news. >> the dmv is urging customers to avoid third party companies, even if they are partners. dmv services are free to be sure you're on the dmv website, the web address should end in dot k.gov. as always, be careful
