now at six, a chaotic scene at lake berryessa. overnight, at least one person is dead following a brawl that ended with gunfire and people being stabbed. good morning. it's sunday, june 9th. we'll have more on our top story in just a moment. but first, lisa is here and we're getting ready for this heat. yeah that's right. >> it's been very gloomy. typical of june temperatures near average. but we are going to see a warm up. but today still under the influence of a trough there over the bay area.

and you can see that little dip there where we've got the wind flow on the map. and there's a look at the rock, how gray it is this morning from our pier 39 camera 54, san francisco, 56, in oakland, as well as redwood city, upper 50s, san jose and our camera. okay here looking at temperatures also in the 50s with 50 in petaluma. oakland is cloudy with 58 in concord. and the winds not too terrible right now, just 10 to 15 miles an hour through the delta. and as we look at your highs today, inland will be in the mid 80s in the north bay later on this afternoon. those winds kicking up around the bay, upper 60s san mateo to the mid 70s for you in redwood city and cloudy at the coast. what about our warm up? we'll talk about it monday and the hottest day tuesday in a few minutes. stephanie >> all right lisa, thank you. developing news now out of napa county. at least one person is dead and several others are injured after a shooting and a stabbing overnight at lake berryessa. it's a popular recreation spot in the north bay

in this location in particular, is known for swimming and fishing spots, the napa county sheriff's office says this all happened around 530 last night, when deputies were called about a fight near the oak shore day use area. shots were fired during that fight and one man was killed. arby's advising there's an active fight going on between two groups of subjects. >> approximately 20 people involved fighting and stopping them fighting again. or he's getting reports of possible gunshots. additional units to the three shots went off. windows are being broken in the napa county sheriff's office says there are also several stabbing victims. >> we know at least two of them were airlifted to local hospitals. it's unclear their condition this morning, and officials have not said exactly how many people were stabbed. the abc seven bay area news app sent out a notification last night about this brawl at lake berryessa, when news breaks, we

will be sure to let you know. just download the app and enable push alerts to get notifications sent directly to your mobile device. in the south bay, a vigil was held for a man who was shot and killed by sunnyvale police, friends and family gathered to remember the life of emanuel perez. he would have turned 20 years old yesterday. officers shot perez on march 23rd at a mobileome park on vienna drive. they say they were called to the area for reports of a partially naked man with a knife. police later released this body cam footage of the confrontation, showing perez ignoring multiple commands from officers. at one point, he runs toward an officer who opens fire. police also revealed perez was the one who made that 911 call. an attorney for the perez family announced they are taking steps to file a lawsuit against the sunnyvale department of public safety. >> when a person calls for help that is what they should receive. the people who we pay to help us should not be out

here harming us. >> the two officers involved in the shooting are both on leave pending further investigation, and a memorial is growing in san francisco's dolores park days after a teenager was shot to death. loved ones gathered to share memories of 19 year old luis manuel arguello inglés. police say he was shot multiple times wednesday night. the teen was a lowell high school graduate and san jose state university student. his family says he had just received his certificate to be an emt and had ambitions of becoming a firefighter. >> every morning i wake up since he hasn't been here, it's been the most pain i've ever felt and i would say i wish it was me, but i wouldn't want him to feel this pain. >> no word on any arrests or motive in this shooting. also in san francisco, a massive response from firefighters putting out a fire at an apartment building in the city's

outer sunset neighborhood. this is near taraval and 47th avenue. san francisco fire says the fire started just after 2 p.m. at a two story apartment building. more than 40 firefighters helped put it out. fortunately, everyone who lives there got out okay and no one was hurt. there is damage left behind after a crash. very close to the golden gate bridge toll plaza. the collision happened at about 330 yesterday on the southbound side of the bridge. investigators say a tractor trailer hit one of the buildings near the toll crossing. no injuries were reported in the north bay. a 4.5 magnitude earthquake rattled sonoma county this weekend. usgs says it happened about four miles northwest of the geysers. geothermal field. this is an area where earthquakes happen frequently. cloverdale firefighters told us they felt a small movement, but there are no reports of any damage or injuries in the east bay. a fast moving grass fire slowed down traffic yesterday east of livermore. the greenville fire

burned 44 acres right along the altamont pass and 580. the fire started just before 11 a.m, and firefighters stopped the spread within an hour. no one was hurt, and it's now 100% contained. it's been a busy week for firefighters in alameda county and beyond. yesterday's fire is the fourth grass fire in the altamont pass area just this week. two fires started monday evening. both are now under control. the corral fire that burned toward tracy and san joaquin county is now also fully contained. at 14,000 acres, it's the state's largest fire so far this year. cal fire says a vegetation fire that started wednesday in sonoma county is also now fully contained. the crystal fire burned about 60 acres in saint helena. four firefighters had to go to the hospital due to the tough conditions. cal fire says crews will remain in the area for the next couple of days, monitoring for hot spots. a new study is uncovering the brutal hidden toll of wildfires here in california. researchers at ucla

say more than 50,000 californians died prematurely because of exposure to wildfire smoke. the study looked at deaths from 2008 to 2018. sonoma santa clara, contra costa and alameda counties had some of the highest premature deaths. the worst year was 2018, as the devastating camp fire destroyed the town of paradise and smothered part of northern california in smoke for weeks. we're learning new details about the plan to bring a new city to solano county. the group behind the california forever project is also planning to build a state of the art sports complex. the facility would include fields for baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and more. the california forever project would also bring a city as many as 400,000 people living there between fairfield and rio vista. next month, the county registrar of voters is expected to certify signatures collected to get that measure on the november ballot.

this weekend, a large crowd came together on fulton plaza for a festival that featured live music and a whole lot of dancing. the celebration started with a parade down market street. this is only the second time it's been held. abc seven news reporter tara campbell shows us the sights and sounds. >> marching down market street a juneteenth celebration saturday

it. a vibrant symbol of pride is shining bright up on twin peaks. abc seven news reporter cornell bernard shows us the record number of volunteers behind the city's 29th annual pink triangle . >> champagne corks were popping on top of twin peaks for the annual dedication of a true pride month icon. the pink triangle. >> we are literally here making a physical beacon for all of san francisco and all of the world to know that yes, this is a safe space. >> more than 600 volunteers started installing the triangle early saturday in the fog, using 175 pink tarps, creating the symbol that's about an acre long. >> we use this as an educational tool, so people far and wide will know the meaning of the pink triangle. and that is not just an abstract symbol, a colorful symbol. >> founder patrick carney says the used the pink triangle to label and shame gay prisoners, and concentration camps. today,

those summer vacation plans, a major path into yosemite national park will reopen tomorrow. tioga road is used by thousands of visitors entering the park from the east, and it's known for its scenic views. but it is closed each winter because snow makes the road too dangerous to drive. all other entrances to the park are open year round. happening today. keep those cars parked and bring out the bikes. if you're in san jose. san jose's viva cafe returns today. about six miles of the city will be closed to cars, but people can bike, skate or take a walk. there will be food trucks, vendors and live music for people to explore. this is the second of three events happening in san jose. the events kick off at 10 a.m. and go until three this afternoon, and lisa is tracking the forecast for what you can expect. we're bracing for the heat. you know, midweek, right. but nicer today. yeah, just like a one day two of 1 or 2 day event. >> not a big deal. but for our inland valleys it will be quite

toasty. but you know, like i said, it's going to be here and it's going to be gone before you know it. but we're under the influence of a trough this morning and we have extra cloud cover. and also looking at maybe a little mist and drizzle at the coast. there's a look at the cloud cover over the bay area. and as we look at san jose starting to brighten up here, where temperatures have been in and around the mid and upper 50s right now 59 at the shark tank, it's 56 in redwood city and oakland with 54 san francisco and the view from mount tam. very colorful as we get going. the sun has been up for about 25 minutes. 50 in petaluma, 58, in concord, about ten days till summer when we get somewhat that longest day of the year in and around june 20th, 21st, where we'll have that sun setting at about 835. here's a look at our headlines. it will be partly cloudy in the mid morning hours, and by the afternoon we'll have sunshine, breezy winds, clouds staying at the coast. and then looking at your monday, we're warming up. still gray at the coast, but those upper level

winds shifting, allowing for temperatures to come up around the bay and certainly inland, a good ten degrees or so for monday and then tuesday it's going to get toasty around here. so looking at your early morning sunday, the cloud cover, then it lifts on out. we're sunny, we're breezy for the afternoon. there's the cloud deck along the coast. it moves back in overnight into your monday morning. so we've got patchy fog gray sky for monday morning. monday afternoon it's sunny, it's warmer and for the time being we'll get a little sun at the coast and then it moves back in along the shoreline, the marine layer. then it's going to really retreat into your tuesday. there's a look at the winds that will continue to stack up and move across the bay. they're going to move pretty fast from 30 to 35 miles an hour. then they're going to ease after about 7:00 tonight. and we'll see once again a return to that sea breeze into monday. but it will be a little less intense. there's a look at the monday highs about 90 in concord. we've got the 80s

arriving for you in fremont low 80s and oakland will be into the mid 70s looking at san francisco in the 60s with sunny conditions. here's the warm day. it's going to be well into the 90s up in the north bay. the south bay, our inland valleys could see about 100 degrees. but then look how the cooling takes place into wednesday. we're as much as ten to maybe 12 degrees cooler. so looking at today we're around average, a lot of sunshine clouds at the coast 73 today for a high in fremont with upper 60s around richmond and those upper 60s from san mateo. the accuweather seven day forecast. we've got the breezy winds near average 60 coast with the clouds 70 around the bay, low 80s inland and a big jump tomorrow about ten degrees inland. 5 to 7 degrees around the bay shore. little change at the coast, but tuesday and wednesday will be the warmest and then leveling off by the second half of the workweek. stephanie. >> all right. lisa, thank you. a reminder that you can watch all our newscasts live and on demand

this half hour with a look at the weather and we can't quite see the sunrise yet here in san francisco. that's right. >> yeah, we have a lot of fog and the cloud cover with a little bit of mist and drizzle along the shoreline. but look at santa cruz, nice and sunny, 53 going for a high today of near 70 degrees. right now around the bay. it is 54 in the city 56 in oakland, san jose. some sun at 59. and this was from our east bay hills. camera. vollmer peak. you can see how far reaching the fog is into our inland valleys. so a lot of 50s all around the bay. and as we look at our winds, not a big deal yet, but they'll continue to build for a breezy afternoon. 9:00 we're in the low 60s, still pretty cloudy, but as we go through the mid morning hours in the early afternoon, we are brightening up or warming up to the low to mid 80s. inland near 70 along the bay shore, the clouds will continue to stay at the shoreline today, keeping it cool

there and pleasant. a couple degrees in and around average today, but we'll be above average to start the workweek and then getting toasty inland. full details coming up in just a few minutes. >> all right lisa, thank you. after being held for months by hamas for israeli hostages are now free after a dangerous rescue mission inside gaza. the israeli defense forces released this video of them being reunited with their relatives. hamas has called the raids a massacre, claiming hundreds of people were killed or injured. abc news reporter david packer is following the story. for us, for israel hostages now back on israeli soil rescued during daytime raids in gaza. >> the hostages now free after 246 days in captivity. finally reunited with family and friends . video of noah agramonte being kidnaped by hamas back on october seventh, going viral following that hamas attack. but on saturday, newly released video showing the 25 year old as

she boarded a helicopter after being rescued by israeli forces, then reunited with her father on his birthday. the idf says, quote, intelligence based operations focused on two apartment buildings in nuseirat in central gaza. releasing this video, it says shows part of the mission. according to the idf, planning for the joint operation began two weeks ago and involved strikes from the air, land and sea. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu spoke at sheba medical center after meeting with the hostages. >> we're committed to getting the release of all the hostages and we expect hamas to release them all. but if they don't, we'll do whatever it takes to get them all back home. >> pressure continues to mount on all sides to secure a cease fire deal, but talks appear to have stalled. president biden and france meeting with french president emmanuel macron reacting to the news pledging to continue efforts to bring home the remaining hostages. >> we won't stop working until all the hostages come home and a cease fire is reached. that is

essential to happen. >> news of the rescue prompting celebrations in the streets of israel but in gaza, chaos in the aftermath of the israeli operation. according to hamas, more than 200 people were killed and at least 400 injured during the raids to free the hostages. israel is refuting those numbers, claiming there were fewer than 100 casualties. dave packer, abc news, new york. >> the temporary pier installed off the coast of gaza to bring aid to the region, has resumed operations. more than 400 tons of humanitarian aid was delivered to gaza yesterday, according to us central command officials. no us personnel went ashore on rough seas in the mediterranean, tore apart that pier last week. president biden will head back here to the us after his first state visit to france. biden joined in a special welcome ceremony with french president emmanuel macron yesterday. the president is wrapping up his final days of events, where he commemorated the 80th anniversary of d-day.

three suspects in custody for a 2022 mass shooting is dead this morning. investigators say the body of an inmate identified as smiley martin was found in his cell inside the sacramento county jail. martin, his brother , and a third man are charged in the murders of three women killed in a gunfight outside of a group of nightclubs in april of 2022. three other people were killed and 12 others injured in that shooting. a southern california police department is facing scrutiny after a security video surfaced appearing to show officers dumping an unhoused man on a sidewalk in another jurisdiction. now take a look. this video from thursday shows the two officers pulling up in front of the los angeles city council president's office. this is in north hollywood. they get out of the car, open the back door and remove a man in handcuffs. police then get back into the car and drive off as the man drops to the ground. >> without giving any aid to this person, without determining

whether there was anyone who could provide services to this person, they dumped him in north hollywood. >> the officers say they were actually helping the man by giving him a ride. the burbank police department says it's investigating the incident. new this morning, howard university will revoke an honorary degree granted to sean diddy combs. the washington, d.c. school's trustees voted on the revocation on friday. it comes after a recently surfaced video showed the hip hop mogul attacking his then girlfriend, singer cassie ventura. the incident happened at a los angeles hotel back in 2016. howard officials say the behavior captured in the video of combs does not align with the university's core values. take a look at this dramatic images from wyoming of what transportation officials are calling a catastrophic failure of a highway. this is teton pass, the road linking idaho to

health. a multi year study out of stanford looked at soils and forest areas that have been slow to recover from recent wildfires. although early research has pointed to the drought being a root cause, experts found toxic concentrations of chemicals in the soil. they say this could be slowing regrowth. now, the team is also working to learn how far the toxic particles might be able to travel. >> as an example, the canadian wildfires were bringing smoke down into new york, into washington, d.c, and throughout the eastern seaboard. our current modeling shows that those would all have been bringing these same toxic metals into those populations a thousand miles or more away. >> the researchers will be working through the current wildfire season, trying to develop threat models. it's all an effort to keep everyone safer . we'll be right back

the oldest trail race in the nation, will bring out around 1500 runners starting at 8 a.m. organizers say there will be some parking restrictions and road closures for motorists, so do give yourself some extra time. this race typically happens every second sunday in june. it's a scenic nearly seven and a half mile course starting in mill valley and ending in stinson beach. well, today, one of the world's most beloved characters, donald duck, is celebrating a major milestone his 90th birthday. tony cabrera reports on a memorable nine decades with donald. >> it was back in 1934 when donald made his debut as a supporting character in the wise little hen, but donald stole the spotlight. this is also kind of fun. >> this is an original walt disney fan card. >> no one knows donald's history better than disney archivist becky klein. >> the us government came to walt disney and said, you know,
