restrictions can be turned off with parental consent, but an industry group calls the law an assault on free speech. the law's passage comes the same day the wall street journal reported that instagram is recommending videos sexual in nature to kids as young as 13. the report is based on accounts set up by testers. meta, dismissing the report as an artificial experiment that doesn't match the reality of how teens use instagram. earlier this week, the u.s. surgeon general called for social media platforms to display health warnings similar to tobacco products. amy nevill, who lost her son when he unintentionally bought fentanyl on snapchat, supports adding the label it's in the light. >> we're talking about it as a nation and hopefully that's going to create some serious change. >> research shows kids who spend an average of three hours or more on social media per day double their risk of anxiety and depression. today, on average, they spend nearly five hours per day. the los angeles school

district this week decided to ban cell phone use during school days. in the meantime, a possible ban could soon be in the future for tiktok, and its chinese owned parent company says it will not sell the app to american investors, as required by a recently passed federal law prompted by national security concerns. in newly filed court documents, tiktok argues the law violates the first amendment and says it's engaged the u.s. government for years on ways to protect americans data and criticizing lawmakers say they reached for a sledgehammer without even considering a scalpel would suffice. tiktok users are also suing, hoping to stop that law and prevent that app from being banned. >> well, amazon says it is ditching the plastic air pillows that are used for shipping for good. instead, the company will be using scrunched up paper that is 100% recyclable. amazon says that will reduce 15 billion pieces of plastic from the environment every year. >> very good news. well, coming up, remembering donald
