restaurant in the bay area is serving its last meal tonight. the two reasons why its owner says it's being forced to close. >> and what color were the flames, it like orange and wet. and what did you say to mommy and daddy? cause 9-1-1. >> that's right. a little boy becomes a pint sized hero. today in san francisco, abc seven news starts right now. >> always liv seven ns starts right now. >> they can't find her, but they want to confront her. in just a half hour from now, a group of oakland residents will send a message to mayor shang tao. they'll hold a rally in response to an fbi raid of her home and her silence since. good evening, and thanks for joining us. i'm diane lim. fbi agents showed up at the mayor's home on maiden lane in oakland before dawn on thursday. other agents, including from the irs, raided the embarcadero offices of california waste solutions,

which runs the city's recycling company, and two homes on view crest court and skyline boulevard. connected with that company were also raided. now three days later, no answers yet from the fbi and no direct response from mayor shang tao. but as you can imagine, people are talking. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard heard from those who want answers and accountability. >> mayor shengtao, come out, talk directly to the people. >> tuan know from asians. unite says oakland's mayor is meo missing an office? >> we don't know where the mayor is. the mayor needs to come out and be accountable and answer the people. >> his organization is planning a rally sunday night outside oakland city hall following a raid by federal agents at mayor tao's oakland home and other locations connected to california. waste solutions agents were seen taking boxes of evidence away, sources tell abc

seven news. it's connected to an alleged public corruption case. >> we want to hear from her. we want to her to answer all questions and have transparency tsay on what is going on, not hide behind lawyers. >> we don't have any information that indicates that mayor tao is the target of the investigation. >> attorney tony brass now represents the embattled mayor. he says she has not been arrested. abc seven news returned to tao's home on sunday. no one answered the door when we knocked. the mayor hasn't been seen in public since the raid on thursday. many residents of oakland don't know what to think, but they want answers. and their biggest question is where is mayor shank tao? >> say something to the city of oakland. just come out and say, you know, this is under control. what's going on? just say something to us. so at least we know that you have our back or something to say something don't hide. >> you know, she got to be open if she's a public figure, she's got to let us know for the

voters to. we want to know. that's why she's in office. >> twan nose says there was silence from the mayor when 15 people were shot at lake merritt after a juneteenth celebration on wednesday. his organization now calling for tao to step down. >> we are calling for her to resign because it's been a series of failures under her administration in oakland, cornell bernard, abc seven news. >> now, this is, of course, an ongoing investigation and we are staying on top of it. so stay with abc seven to learn the latest about what's happening with the mayor and how it will affect the city of oakland. we'll continue to update the abc seven news.com website and abc7 news, bay area app. moving on to a chaotic night in vallejo, which ended with four people shot and injured and a car on fire. police say the shooting happened at about 3 a.m. off springs road near monterey street. as officers were investigating, there was a sideshow a couple of miles away. police say a crowd of 400 people

gathered at the intersection of mini drive and louis brown drive, and that's where the car was set ablaze. officers say the sideshow and shooting were not connected. a second sideshow overnight brought traffic to a halt on the bay bridge see there and hear the fireworks going off and cars doing donuts on the bridge overnight. some people parked on the bridge just to watch, while others just got stuck. this video was taken at about two this morning in the eastbound span. we're told the sideshow went on for about 25 minutes before traffic started moving again. no word on any possible citations or arrests. in sonoma county, the point fire is now 85% contained. more than 1200 acres have burned in geyserville, just east of the lake sonoma recreational area. cal fire shared this video of crews which continue to mop up

that fire, which started last sunday. three structures were destroyed by the flames, while two others were damaged. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. in the central valley, crews are battling the watts fire, which broke out yesterday. the fresno county sheriff's office shared this video showing smoke and a helicopter making water drops. 100 acres have been charred in the tollhouse area, with evacuation warnings in place. cal fire says forward progress has been stopped and the fire is now 30% contained. at least one person was injured and two structures destroyed in colusa county, the state's largest wildfire. the site's fire remains 38% contained tonight. firefighters shared video of some of the 68 miles of control line they've built to keep that fire from spreading, so far, it's scorched more than 19,000 acres, but cal fire says no buildings have been damaged and check this out. a rare grass fire in san francisco, which

scorched two acres and damaged a warehouse in the bayview it ignited last night. and firefighters say winds helped drive those flames. the fire department posted this video. no one was injured. investigators say the cause of that fire was accidental but didn't give more details as this week in the east bay, the berkeley fire department will hold wildfire response drills. the planned exercises will be conducted in the grizzly peak tilden park area on monday, wednesday and friday between 830 and 3 p.m. the drills will be coordinated with the albany, moraga, orinda, richmond and contra costa county fire departments. officials say it may look like a real incident to residents, but keep in mind there is no cause for concern. well, turning now to your voice, your vote, president biden and former president trump are now preparing for thursday's presidential debate. abc news reporter maryalice parks explains the two men are taking very different approaches to

their debate prep. >> the first presidential debate of the year, just days away, and the two candidates are getting ready, but in very different ways. president biden is spending the weekend at camp david with his former chief of staff, ron klain, leading debate prep. some democrats say the president should draw a sharp contrast between himself and trump, especially on economic policies. >> he'll be out there for working families, and that's the contrast with donald trump, who's been out there telling his his word rich as hell donors that if they will just give more money to his campaign, then he's going to cut taxes for billionaires. >> abortion likely to be another important issue for voters, new york governor kathy hochul telling cnn he should lean hard into the fact that now one out of three american women live with an abortion ban. former president donald trump taking a different approach to his debate prep talking to voters out on the campaign trail. >> you know, when you say prep,

the mcdonald's at the mall is permanently closing today. the franchise is family owned, and the owner tells me that the decision to close was a long and difficult one, and it's a gut wrenching day for his family, he says. the landlord was unwilling to negotiate long term, sensible rent for the location. he also blames california's minimum wage mandate. customers say they're not surprised. >> that makes sense. everything is getting a lot more expensive. i mean, the cheapest place to get food now is trader joe's, and usually i would go somewhere else. >> most of the employees accepted positions at other mcdonald's restaurants. the restaurant had been in business for more than 30 years. well, happening now. the twin peaks tunnel between the west portal and forest hill stations is closed for repair work through

to home. take a look. the child says the flames at the house on 35th avenue in the ricon neighborhood happened, and he told his parents to call 911. he was very excited to be the hero of the day. uh- apparently, trust us, he did give a very nice interview, and he basically said that he was just very enthusiastic about calling 911. we'll try and get that video for you at abc seven news.com. all right. moving on now to activists and drag icons that led the fifth annual people's protest march in san francisco. hundreds attended a community led pride event that lifts up black, brown and indigenous voices. the march followed the same route of the first gay liberation protest that happened

and livermore so that inland heat is holding on a little bit, but not like the triple digits we saw yesterday. these are the headlines tomorrow, seasonal temperatures will continue to develop remainder of the week. sunny with gradual cooling and next weekend mild summer pattern. so it looks like the week ahead is going to be nice and calm. right now we're looking at the forecast animation showing the development of low clouds and fog near the coastline and locally out over the bay overnight. a typical pattern for this time of the year. and then mid-morning tomorrow we'll see it burning back to the coastline, giving us a mainly sunny day over the bay and inland. overnight. low temperatures will be mainly in the low to mid 50s and then highs tomorrow under mainly sunny afternoon skies near 60 at the coast. low to mid 70s, maybe even some upper 70s around the bay shoreline inland areas will be warm but not hot. we'll see some low 90s in the inland east bay, maybe 94 over at antioch. and as we look ahead to tuesday, temperatures continue to gradually decline. and that pattern goes into wednesday and into thursday. so here's the accuweather seven day forecast.

this is a lovely week ahead. mainly sunny skies, a few clouds here and there. but notice the gradual drop in temperatures all the way through thursday, which will be one of our cooler days with inland highs only in the upper 80s, and then a pretty steady pattern going into next weekend, which is looking pretty good. >> it has been a tough week for the giants, winless since the passing of willie mays on tuesday. today, looking to snap a four game slide in saint louis before they fly back to the bay forever giant. remember this guy brandon crawford playing third base for the second time in his career? the first time he did it thursday at rickwood field. logan webb couldn't find a groove early, gave up three runs in the first that a two out rbi knock from matt carpenter. three nothing cards after one. meanwhile, former a sonny gray was dealing for saint louis, a perfect game through six innings. but in the seventh inning, patrick bailey playing spoiler that's long gone solo shot to right. giants had scored three unanswered and all of a sudden they're in it. it's four three game but bottom eight same
