that we are going to be expecting. >> you know, someone's in the lounge being like, is he talking about me? we see you, we see you. are you? >> see you. >> yeah. and yes. >> have that next mimosa and your flight is boarding soon. >> so yeah. drink fast, drink fast. final call outside this morning we're looking at our east bay hills camera right now. we have lovely weather out there, very limited in terms of any fog. we do have some cloudier skies along the coast. you look at current sky conditions out there. you'll find that most of us have bright skies early on. of course, half moon bay, that's typically our spot this time of the year that is starting out with cloudy conditions, but even there we'll see some afternoon sunshine for the most part. we'll get you going here on this friday in the 50s, some of our cooler valleys right now are starting out in the 40s, so if you have those temperatures in the 40s, your light jacket is needed, but you can get rid of it pretty quickly later on because temperatures do warm pretty fast today. in fact, today is warmer than yesterday and we are going above average. look inland today. lots of sunshine out there throughout the afternoon. we'll get those temperatures into the low 90s

for daytime highs around the bay shoreline. it will feel warm today. we have a little bit of cloud cover in spots that gets out here very fast for full sunshine and those temperatures in the 70s and then along the coast today, where we do have those overcast skies currently in some spots, we will see sunshine this afternoon. our marine layer kind of gets eviscerated by 4:00 pm, and highs in the lower 60s there. let's check in with francis. those drive times are going all right. >> morning, drew. morning, everyone. there is an accident affecting ace train right now. so train number three is currently stopped. and it's currently a ten minute delay. but if you're taking bart, no problems there. all trains on time. caltrain also looking good. that's green and on time and you'll definitely want to consider bart and mass transit if you're heading all to all the pride festivities starting tonight, even for the trans march at dolores park bay bridge toll plaza, metering lights have been turned on, but there is not much of a wait this beautiful morning. and we'll also show you live shot of the golden gate bridge, where traffic is looking great. no problems in the north bay heading into san francisco,

just the usual couple slow spots. i mentioned one of them through the altamont pass out of tracy. reggie. amanda. >> thanks so much, francis. this morning, the fallout from last night's presidential debate. abc news has learned some top democrats are now questioning if president biden can even continue this campaign. the president started the night with a raspy voice. >> at times, he struggled to finish his thoughts. however, there were still some fireworks between him and former president donald trump. >> abc news reporter christiane cordero is in atlanta with a look at how this went. >> after four years of waiting, president joe biden and former president donald trump squaring off once again in this first debate of the presidential campaign. it took trump supporters just minutes to target biden's age. following this pause, dealing with everything we have to do with, look, if we president also sounding hoarse, his team says he has a cold for 90 minutes. biden and trump were

peppered with questions on the issues impacting americans. biden pledging to protect abortion rights. >> no politician should be making that decision. a doctor should be making those decisions. that's how it should be run. that's what you're going to do. and if i'm elected, i'm going to restore roe v wade and accusing trump of sparking the january 6th attack on the capitol. and now, he says if he loses again, such a whiner that he is, that could be a bloodbath. >> trump hammering biden on inflation. >> the jobs went down and then they bounced back. and he's taking credit for bounce back jobs. you can't do that. he also said he inherited 9% inflation. no he inherited almost no inflation. and it stayed that way for 14 months and promising to crack down on illegal border crossings. we have a border. that's the most dangerous place anywhere in the world. consider the most dangerous place anywhere in the world. and he opened it up at stake. >> with just over four months left in the campaign season, millions of voters unenthused by their choices. the next and final presidential debate, hosted by abc news, is scheduled

for tuesday, september 10th. christiane cordero, abc news, atlanta. >> governor newsom was in the spin room in atlanta during the debate. he brushed off concerns about the president's performance. >> i spent a lot of time with him. i know joe biden. i know what he's accomplished in the last three and a half years, i know what he's capable of, and i know his vision. and i have no, no trepidation. >> the governor was mentioned on several networks last night as a possible replacement for mr. biden, as the democratic nominee, and governor newsom made it clear he is not an aspiring 2024 candidate. >> the bay area had many watch parties last night. this was at manny's in san francisco's mission district. it came with a progressive perspective. the invite warned trump's america would give tax breaks to the ultra wealthy and rip away women's reproductive freedoms, whereas they say president biden's vision would protect freedoms and give americans a fair shot. and at keyser's pub on stanyan in san francisco, a watch party represented the

other side of the political aisle. organizers claim it was the place to be for bay area conservatives. they had some local candidates join them for their own commentary on all the discourse. >> third party candidate, excuse me. rfk jr, host of what he called a real debate from a studio in la. it was streamed on social media. kennedy blamed both former president trump and president biden for running up the deficit that's causing inflation. >> president trump came into office promising to balance the budget. instead, he spent more money in office than every president in united states history combined. as in, biden is will beat him. he's already run up $6.3 trillion in debt, and by the time he leaves office, he'll have run up more than president trump in his. >> analysts say the debt under each administration was due to both partizan and bipartisan policies. kennedy failed to qualify to join the presidential debate in atlanta. his economic policy proposals include raising the federal minimum wage and

expanding free child care. abc news fact checked both biden and trump's claims during the debate. you can find that, along with reaction from the republicans and democratic party all on our website. abc seven news.com. >> happening today oakland city council is set to hold a special meeting to pass its budget. it comes as the city faces one of the biggest deficits in its history. abc seven news reporter gloria rodriguez is here with us. and gloria, this is complicated by the fact that the proposed budget is based off the sale of the oakland coliseum, and it's not even a done deal yet. >> that's right. amanda. and to buy them time, council members say they will likely ask for an extension until june 30th. without the coliseum sale, there are $63 million in potential budget cuts, mostly to the general fund. in may, oakland mayor xiang tao submitted a proposed budget which includes more than $100 million from the sale of the oakland coliseum property. but on tuesday, the finance department submitted a revised budget proposal that does not include that money because the sale is not final.

oakland city council member janine ramachandran says she is unsure if the coliseum sale would close by september of 2025, which she says is needed to adopt the budget. that includes those funds. >> investors are going to want to take their time and be wise before they put that much money out here. >> and she says the forecast is at oakland will face a deficit for the next five years. potential cuts could include 100 police jobs by freezing positions, closing four fire stations and some funding cut to violence prevention programs. so while the oakland city council special meeting to pass its budget is scheduled for today again, council members may be asking for an extension. live in the studio, gloria rodriguez, abc seven news. >> a north bay principal is facing charges this morning for failing to report a coach's alleged relationship with a minor. this week, american canyon principal andrew goff was charged with a misdemeanor. prosecutors say he violated his responsibilities as a mandated

reporter when he failed to report the suspected abuse. immediately after finding out about it. if convicted, he could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. this all stems from a case involving now former teacher and track and field coach brad rowell. in april, he was charged with 25 felony counts. ralph pleaded not guilty. >> if you're getting an early start to the 4th of july holiday, get ready. the tsa anticipates today will be the peak travel day for holiday celebrations. here's a live look we want to get to, if we can at sfo. if not, we know that it's set to be the busiest day today. storms back east, though, could cause delays or cancellations. the tsa expects to screen more than 3 million people across the country today. and just this past sunday, the agency reported a record breaking day, setting the most people screened on a single day seven of the top ten busiest travel days in u.s. history have happened in the last month.

nfl and one. a jury found the league violated antitrust laws with their sunday ticket subscription. abc seven news reporter ryan curry tells us what this means for sports bars and for fans. >> nestled right on ninth avenue near irving street, is mucky duck. it's your typical sports bar. neon beer signs in the window, fans sitting at the counter, and signs telling you they've got the game on. but the owners of this san francisco bar just secured a major victory. >> it's david and goliath i love it. it's amazing. >> the bar is the david. the goliath is the national football league. on thursday, a jury ruled the league violated antitrust laws with their sunday ticket subscription. that package allowed people at home and businesses to watch every nfl game. however, it was only

available through one provider, and the lawsuit says the league sold it at an inflated price. >> the deal that sunday ticket and the nfl had always struck me as unfair. >> robert freund practices e commerce law and says this subscription was hurting consumers. >> the prices are just thrust upon them. here's the deal. take it or leave it. and that's really exactly the point of why antitrust laws exist. >> those consumers include noah roberts, who works at little shamrock around the corner from mucky duck. he says the sunday ticket subscription was not the best for their business. >> you want to be able to have every game on and then when one league just charges in insane amount of money, your hands are tied because yeah, you have to put it on. and then two, you're losing money. so what do you do? do you lose the fans? do you you know, not sell beer. what do you do? >> the league now has to pay over $4 billion in damages. the owners of mucky duck did not want to comment because the nfl is planning on appealing this decision. they said in a statement we will certainly

contest this decision as we believe that the class action claims in this case are baseless and without merit. but until that appeal goes through, those we spoke with say what mucky duck did is a win for sports bars and consumers everywhere. >> i think it's awesome that they took it on themselves. represents the inner sunset, represents san francisco, and then also to just, you know, promote the entire country, you know, win that war. and it just represents the neighborhood bars everywhere, a neighborhood bar were watching a game should not come with a heavy price tag in san francisco. >> ryan curry, abc seven news. >> upwards of a million people are expected at san francisco's pride parade this sunday. the state of pride was a topic of the second annual human rights summit at the commonwealth club yesterday. abc seven is the official media sponsor. there were conversations about racial justice and the fight against anti-trans legislation. >> so the state of pride, you know, is very complicated. question and answer i think we do need to recognize our roots in our history and remember why we do it, but also we can

san francisco pride parade. our coverage kicks off sunday at 10 a.m. the parade starts at 1030. you can see it wherever you watch abc7. drew and i will be right there along market street hosting this parade, and i'll be looking for your shoes. >> rainbow. there's a lot of rainbows, a lot of bright colors out there, and it will be nice out there. we will have fine weather for the weekend, and then we have a heat wave to talk about for next week. in the accuweather forecast. look outside live. look from the exploratorium camera. it is bright, calm waters on the bay. if you're taking the ferry later this morning, should be an easy ride across the bay. warmer temperatures this afternoon. we're going above average to finish out the week now heading into pride weekend. lots of sunshine, mild temperatures, and then the heat wave coming next week and this one could last several days. let's talk about pride. the weekend. today in the city we'll go to 67 a little bit warmer tomorrow. and then on sunday it's even warmer for the parade. we're going into the 70s for daytime highs on sunday. so let's talk about the parade itself on sunday. limited morning fog. we'll have temperatures in the low 60s at

10 a.m. at 2 p.m. that is just fantastic. 71 degrees with mild sunshine. today we'll focus those temperatures close to average numbers in the 60s and 70s around the bay. shoreline inland will go into the 80s and 90s for daytime highs. and again, this is pretty close to where we should be for this time of the year. overnight tonight, partly cloudy conditions and overnight lows, mainly in the 50s. any friday night plans you have will have a light breeze this evening, but all in all, it's going to be a nice night to be out and about. as we take a look at the weekend forecast. lots of sunshine. no matter what you're doing around the region, we'll have bright skies, temperatures not too hot. we're pretty close to average, but then those numbers do take off next week. future tracker showing you i want to get you heads up on this, because we start to warm up here on monday. tuesday it gets even hotter around here. and then wednesday those numbers continue to climb. so we will see some sort of heat advisory come out over the next couple of days in advance of these hot temperatures. but even the fourth is looking warm and fog free. believe it or not, accuweather seven day forecast

collapsed at the delhi airport in india. delhi fire officials say a chunk of the roof and two pillars fell onto a car following heavy rain. it appears most of the damage happened outside of the building. one terminal was evacuated at the time and officials say they will inspect the building. uber wants to pay you to give up your car. they're calling it one less car. challenge 175 people in seven cities, including san francisco, will get $1,000 to pay for other types of transportation, like uber, bike shares and public transit. the five week challenge starts july 22nd. you have to apply on uber's website. summer concerts at uc berkeley's greek theater are about to get a whole lot nicer. the theater's instagram page posted these

candidate's performance and how it will weigh on voters minds going forward. >> joe biden, president went in to debate donald trump. the idea was to best trump. he walked out with triggering a debate within his own party about whether he should continue being the candidate. it's being openly discussed tonight. that is not a way you want to walk out of a debate. no matter. that is not the republicans questioning whether you should be up there. it's your own party, members of your own party. now, a lot of this is backroom chatter right now. we'll see if it manifests itself. but, you know, there is a difference between being a politician and an elected official and being a candidate. you can be a capable president or a capable mayor, but you can also be a not a bad candidate. and tonight, joe biden was a bad candidate. donald trump was not a great candidate. you could say he was a bad candidate. but the trump that walked in there with a snarl on his face is the donald trump that we've seen on television and radio for the past eight years. there was no new surprises. the joe biden

counting on that money, but they don't have it. >> that's right. reggie, this week the finance department submitted a revised budget proposal that does not include money from the sale of the oakland coliseum property. in may, oakland shengtao had submitted a proposed budget that included those $100 million from the sale. but that deal is not done. oakland city council member janine ramachandran says the forecast is that oakland will face a deficit for the next five years without the coliseum deal. there are $63 million in potential budget cuts, mostly to the general fund. cuts may include 100 police jobs by freezing positions, closing four fire stations and some funding cut to violence prevention programs. uc berkeley professor dan lindheim is the former oakland city administrator, and he says oakland's financial health may not be as dire as the numbers suggest. >> oakland has about 400 other funds, and so the other things

father was oakland's assistant fire chief, sean laffan. the 42 year old died of a heart attack in the line of duty in 2020. >> they've suffered such great loss, you know, it's almost incomprehensible how much loss you can really suffer and still remain standing. >> oakland fire chief covington says he'll be traveling to san diego to help bring caden home. >> in the east bay, a newark city council member abruptly resigned, effective immediately. on facebook, mike bucci explained his family's decision, writing, unfortunately, we're just the next people in a long line of folks who have been priced out of town. we tried to buy a home a number of times over the years, but it never happened for us. now the window has closed and any chance we had to stay in newark is long past. bucci was first elected to the newark city council in november 2014. last night, the newark city council decided to invite applicants to fill the seat until a special election can be held in november.

high speed rail project. the final segment connecting the bay area to los angeles has received final approval. that came yesterday. the high speed rail authority signed off on the route and gave environmental clearance for the 38 mile stretch of track between palmdale and burbank. services expected to begin on the central valley segment between merced and bakersfield. between 2030 and 2033. stay away, or you could be arrested. that's the message san francisco police are reportedly sending to people thinking about taking part in this year's dolores hill bomb. the annual event where skateboarders race down the hill at dolores park is being advertised for next week. last year's event, more than 100 people were arrested after things turned violent when police tried to clear the area. in other years, there have been major injuries and even one

the northeast is recovering from deadly storms that hit the region yesterday. locations in the southwest are experiencing droughts, but parts of the midwest are getting more rain today as they recover from floods. and here's an idea of just how bad that flooding is. you're looking at a baseball field in minnesota filled with water after a nearby dam overflowed. local officials say they're closely watching for downstream impacts. new developments a last minute bill to exempt restaurants from a new state law banning so-called junk fees is headed to governor newsom's desk. the law is set to take effect july 1st. that's next monday. the restaurant industry wants to be exempt from the ban, claiming extra fees often make it possible to pay employees a living wage. if the governor signs the bill, restaurants will be able to keep their surcharges as long as they're clearly communicated to customers. >> earlier this week, we told you about the new york times naming berkeley's rose pizzeria one of the best pizza places in the country. >> now an italian media company
