fabulous vibes to this year's pride festival. civic center was turned into a beacon of love, the theme of this year's pride. >> hi, i'm austin and i am from norcal austin, we're from red bluff, brought his biggest ally to pride, his mom, kristy. >> so what does pride mean to you guys? first of all, you. >> it's a celebration of like, being who you are and who you want to be. >> and like just accepting everything and like, getting everybody to be so open and honest. >> you love who you love. that's all you need. >> this gathering also brought some tasty food because calories don't count at pride, right? >> this is a fish and chips and my cousin wanted the carne asada fries with no pico de gallo. >> you can tell people are happy there's already thousands of people in here. >> pride organizers say 400,000 people are expected to party here. this weekend, and well over a million may come out for sunday's pride parade down market street, one of the biggest lgbtq gatherings in the

on the weather for tomorrow's parade. i say we, but i should say you, spencer. kristen, we all are. >> it's going to be a beautiful day all over the area, but especially here in san francisco tomorrow. couldn't ask for a better weather for a parade. and here's what we're talking about. 10:00 in the morning, mainly sunny skies, a little patch or two of fog, about 6364 degrees, midday to about 2 p.m, temperatures climbing up to about 70 degrees under sunny skies here in san francisco by 4 p.m. we're talking about low 70s, still mild, maybe a cloud or two developing. and that's about it. it's just going to be a gorgeous day now all over the bay area. tomorrow is going to be very nice. mild to warm from coast to inland. inland areas 90 low 90s to mid 90s. sunny skies just about everywhere. however, a word of caution once we get through the weekend, we have some scorching weather coming our way next week. in fact, a heat, an excessive heat watch will be in effect for the entire bay area. uh. there's caution about spending too much time outside, of course. of course we'll need to stay hydrated. high temperatures for about a 5

or 6 day period will be in the 100 100 to about 100 to 105 degrees in the hottest inland spots. so this uh- this advisory is going to be in effect from early tuesday morning to friday evening. i'll give you more details on that in the complete accuweather seven day forecast in a few minutes. >> spencer, thank you so much. enjoy that cool san francisco weather. developing news now in a case that lit up phones and road signs across the bay area this morning, the chp says the newborn baby at the center of an amber alert is safe. investigators said the child's mother took off with her 14 day old baby boy, and they were worried for his safety. tonight, vallejo police tell us everyone is safe and okay happening tonight. the oakland police department is putting more officers on the street focused on preventing violent crime. the department is reviving operation ceasefire, a crime prevention program that started in 2012 and was praised for helping cut down on shootings. but the city

shifted away from that approach during the pandemic. the extra police presence comes as the city considers big changes to police staffing. a report from oakland's director of finance says the city could drop more than 100 positions, depending on the budget plan that they approve. the oakland police officers association told us in a statement, quote, the proposed budget will drive the oakland police department to historic lows in staffing levels at a time when community members and business owners are already suffering. the city council is expected to vote on the budget on tuesday. also in the east bay , 9-1-1 service is back to normal in several communities after thieves broke the system. pinole police say people stripped copper wire from their 9-1-1 phone lines, taking out their dispatch center. the contra costa county sheriff's office had to answer calls from pinole, hercules and san pablo all week. it's the second time

this month that copper thieves disrupted pinole 9-1-1 system. we're tracking developing news in northern california this evening with firefighters working on a new wildfire. that fire is triggering evacuations near the community of greenwood, west of i-80 in el dorado county. it's burned about 15 acres and containment is at 10. firefighters told us about 20 minutes ago that forward progress has been stopped. worsening wildfires in the bay area are brutal for wine, grape growers. there's new help to protect them from losses due to smoke damage. grape growers lost hundreds of millions of dollars in 2020, and the start of this fire season is already rough. wineries south of lake sonoma are still dealing with smoke and fire retardant damage from the point fire earlier this month. >> i'm still in shock that it it uh- it actually devastated the property as much as it did, but

i am just so grateful that we didn't lose anything else. >> the us department of agriculture will roll out a wildfire smoke covered option to insurance policies starting in the 2025 crop year. growers won't have to document their losses. they'll get paid out based on the number of intense smoke days in their county. it's a busy weekend for summer travel, with plenty of people hitting the beach, heading to tahoe or starting an extended 4th of july vacation. tsa had its fourth busiest, busiest day ever yesterday. abc news reporter michelle france shows us your best times to hit the road. >> millions of americans are taking to the skies and hitting the roads for the 4th of july holiday. a record breaking number of people packing airports nationwide. the tsa says it expects to screen 32 million passengers between thursday, june 27th and monday,

july 8th. the agency believes it will set a new record, screening 3 million travelers in one day before all the july 4th travel comes to an end. american airlines predicts its busiest july fourth ever, up 8% from last year. delta says it expects nearly 6 million customers through next week, an increase of 6% from 2023. the tsa and airlines, all offering the same advice, get to the airport early to allow plenty of time to get through security. roads are also expected to be crowded, according to triple a, more than 60 million americans are expected to travel by car for the holiday. the best time to hit the road to avoid traffic before 10 a.m. the worst between 2 and 8 p.m. michelle franzen abc news, new york. >> a home listing in san francisco that went viral for one very big catch is close to selling. it's a steal. if you can wait a long time to move in.

create a database of film locations in the city. if the city council approves, the plan would only happen if the city has money available, which may be tough given oakland's budget crisis. giants fans are once again heading out to oracle park to pay their respects to a forever giant, orlando cepeda. today, many stopped to place flowers on a statue on second and king or to reflect on the legacy of the hall of famer affectionately known as the baby bull. cepeda passed away yesterday at the age of 86. he debuted with the giants in 1958, their first in san francisco. >> my dad passed on the seventh and then willie mays passed four days later. and then orlando passed. so, i'm feeling all the emotions right now, like i said, the giants are a huge part of my family growing up and orlando and willie are just like, i mean, the icons for me and my dad. >> a week from monday on july

francisco tradition. people in the sunset district marched down the great highway for the inaugural oceanside 4th of july parade. it's been decades since the city had a 4th of july parade. today, two bands, 25 dancers, as well as several parents and kids took part. supervisor joel engardio organized the event because he says it's time the city had its own 4th of july parade, an event like this tells the world we are not a doom loop. >> it tells the world that we have a lot of joy and we're creating more of it. and we are imaginative or innovative, and we're going to create our best san francisco organizers had the parade today to make sure people who already made holiday plans could attend the supervisor says the plan is to have this on july fourth. >> come next year, join right now by spencer christian and it looks beautiful there. but i

will say i could also see the waves, the whitecaps there. >> oh yeah, it's a bit breezy out there, but breezy up those waves. nothing dangerous yet, but it's the breeze is vigorous. yes. here's a look at what's happening right now. we're looking at live doppler seven and the satellite image. and you can see that we've got a strong onshore flow and a little bit of a, some patches of coastal clouds. but the entire uh- coast is not fogged in. it's breezy out there, as j.r. and i were describing, 34 mile per hour winds right here in san francisco right now. so those are significant. here's a nice sunny view looking down on the san francisco from sutro tower, 65 degrees here in the city right now oakland 68. we've got 77 at hayward. mid to upper 80s at san jose and redwood city and 57 at half moon bay. now we have a little fog at the golden gate right now. it's also breezy there, i might add up in the north bay 81 degrees right now at santa rosa, petaluma and napa in the 70s, upper 80s at fairfield, concord and livermore , and looking down onto the bay from mount tam, we see a few fingers of fog pushing through the golden gate. otherwise blue

sky over the bay, and these are forecast headlines. pride parade tomorrow will take place under sunny and mild conditions here in san francisco. heat wave is coming. our way next week. we have an excessive heat watch or we will have one in effect from tuesday morning to friday evening, and triple digit temperatures will be widespread throughout our inland areas during that 5 or 6 day period. that means, of course, some health risks and increased fire danger. here's a closer look at that excessive heat watch in effect for all of the bay area and excessive heat warning for solano county. again from tuesday morning through friday evening. we're talking about heat that is so extreme that, of course, increased exposure or prolonged exposure can increase the risk of heat related illnesses. on we go to the forecast animation overnight. we'll see a few high clouds passing by, some patches of low clouds at the coast, but not along the entire coastline. we'll wake up tomorrow morning to some lingering patches of fog, but mainly sunny skies. it's going to be a beautiful day tomorrow. overnight conditions are these. we'll have low temperatures, mainly in the

upper 50s. some locations won't drop below 60 degrees, mainly on the inland east bay and up to the north bay, where it's going to be pretty warm overnight. then tomorrow look for again a lovely day. temperatures up to 60 degrees at half moon bay 71 here in san francisco around the bay shoreline. we'll see upper 70s to some low 80s mid 90s in the warmest inland spots tomorrow. but that's warm. that's not nearly so hot as what we're going to see next week. so july starts off with a bang on monday and all the way through the week, we'll see temperatures in a very uncomfortably and dangerously hot range. for example, tuesday and wednesday inland highs up to about 108 110 degrees. we'll see some mid 90s around the bay shoreline. that's excessively hot. temperatures moderate just slightly on thursday which is 4th of july. but throughout the entire weekend into next weekend, we'll be looking at triple digit heat inland. >> with the death of willie mays earlier this month and now the passing of orlando cepeda yesterday has been a tough stretch for the giants. off the field, the baby bull was the

game of the year one nil last night joe thornton announced the very first number one overall draft pick in sharks franchise history, and it was macklin celebrini who played for the junior sharks. his father, rick, the head trainer of the warriors. so he grew up in the bay area. he had an outstanding freshman year in college and just turned 18 years old earlier this month. wow. macklin is looking forward to helping the sharks get this thing turned back around. >> it's an exciting opportunity because you kind of get to build a group. they have a young core that's that's very special. and, i mean, i feel like they're moving in the right directions and they're building the right way. so i'm super excited to join the organization. and, i can't wait to see where we go. >> i can't wait to see macklin and thiele in 18. i was just trying to get my prom date lined up. that's all i could worry about. at 18, my folks were saying, hey, don't forget our florida panther parade in lauderdale tomorrow, upper 90s. >> come tomorrow for that championship parade. >> stay near the water. >> yes, east bay is showing some beaver love beaver murals,
