raided by the fbi. the mayor said she is innocent of any crime implied by that search this morning. firefighters are working around the clock to put out several fires burning in the bay area and around the state. the french fire burning near yosemite has torn through more than 900 acres. containment is now up to 20. some evacuation orders in mariposa county have been lifted. highway 140 is back open this morning, restoring access to a major route into the national park. the cause of that fire is still under investigation right now in butte county, near oroville. all evacuation orders have been lifted for the thomas fire. it's 55% contained, nearly 3800 acres have burned since tuesday morning, and the fire has destroyed 25 structures. authorities say that three firefighters have suffered heat related injuries. and, of course, the hot weather is going to continue today. let's check in with meteorologist lisa argen tracking the forecast. we hope

those firefighters who are battling those fires we've been talking about get some relief soon. >> yeah, it's amazing the job they do. and they will get a little bit of relief beginning tomorrow in the next couple of days before we see, you know, more 90s and triple digits for just a short portion of next week. so we're not going to get a big, tall marine layer that wipes out all the heat into our inland valleys. but we are going to see some relief as soon as sunday. today, though, the heat intensifies inland. we do have some fog from san francisco down south, san mateo, up north from marin county and the county. the coastline there that will allow for a beautiful day at our beaches, quite crowded from sutro. here you can see all the fog and there's a look at salesforce, which is almost 1000ft deep. so you get the idea that the deck of the stratus is somewhat shallow, but we do have some dense fog in spots along the coast. 57, san francisco 60. in oakland, 64 in san jose. and looking at those mid 50s at the coast from our roof camera.
6:19 am
pretty view here. the marine layer intact 55. you can see the breeze there. that is really going to help us out. it has been pretty nice in san francisco and along the coast. even in the afternoon. some of the inland valleys getting a breeze, but starting out in the low to mid 60s and with this high pressure ridge intensifying today, it is going to be a rough one in our inland valleys. that's the view from vollmer peak. and you can see it's a little hazy out there. so the heat wave continues for our inland valleys into next week. but there is some relief as soon as sunday, looking at a red flag warning through 9:00 tonight for the mountains of the north bay, the east bay, the santa cruz mountains, and then the forecast for the coast is comfortable in and out of the clouds with that sea breeze. here's a look at that light breeze today. so unless you're right at the coas, it's going to be about 15 to 20 miles an hour. but as we get into sunday, there's a system offshore that will initiate that delta breeze. so that brings the fog or i should say the sea breeze all the way to the delta. and the breeze into the east
6:20 am
bay. the fog is going to remain shallow. and with those upper elevations in the 80s and 90s overnight and the relative humidity in the teens, we're looking at our fire danger index this afternoon, of course, where the mountains are and that's why we're looking at that red flag warning through 9:00. even tomorrow, with that break in that triple digit heat, we're still looking at these very dry conditions. it's only june and it's going to get even drier. of course, as we get through the summer and the fall. here's our break into tuesday, monday and tuesday look nice. wednesday we're back into that grip of very hot temperatures by thursday still warm. so you can see that it's going to be a rough couple of days. certainly today. inland 106 in livermore, 95, in san jose, 105 in morgan hill, 101 santa rosa. the accuweather seven day forecast. so we begin to see the heat easing for sunday. then the relief arrives monday. tuesday warmer by wednesday. so we'll still have that spread from the coast to our inland valleys throughout
