will approach 100 degrees. a woman was also killed by a falling tree in louisiana as the remnants of beryl now moved northeast. we will check your forecast in just a few moments. >> president biden's doctor has released a new statement amid questions about why an expert in parkinson's disease has visited the white house. it comes as more democrats publicly call on the president to end his reelection campaign over concerns about his mental fitness. abc's lionel moise has the latest. >> overnight, president biden's physician releasing a statement explaining the new revelation that a parkinson's disease expert visited the white house eight times in eight months. doctor kevin o'connor, in a letter released last night, clarified that the parkinson's expert, doctor kevin kennard, was a neurological specialist that examined president biden for each of his annual physicals and that president biden has not seen a neurologist outside of his annual physical, adding that the findings of biden's last physical were made public in

february and no signs of parkinson's were found. the letter, coming just hours after the white house was pressed about doctor visits. >> has the president being treated for parkinson's? no. is he being treated for parkinson's? no. he's not. is he taking medication for parkinson's? no. the white house press secretary refused to give specifics yesterday due to privacy concerns. >> i certainly could clear this all up just by saying what he was doing here and if it was connected to the president, yes or no, i am not going to confirm the a particular neurologist, anybody. >> it doesn't matter if they're a dermatologist or a neurologist. i'm just not going to do that. i shared with all of you that the president has met, has been with the neurologist three times as it relates to his physical, three times such visits to the white house are not unusual. >> the president's physician says the neurologist regularly meets with thousands of active duty military members who work in the white house complex. this same neurologist also appeared on the visitors log dozens of

including a massive new aid package. sources say. the white house hopes the summit will showcase biden's leadership. one administration official says this event is ideal for the president, but the summit no doubt to be overshadowed by those calls for biden to drop out of the race and the looming possibility of a second trump presidency. trump once called nato obsolete. >> andrew, am thank you. jury selection begins today in alec baldwin's rust movie set shooting trial. and now the judge has issued a key ruling in this case a new setback for prosecutors. as alec baldwin prepares to go on trial for involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of cinematographer halyna hutchins on the set of his movie rust. >> i'm having real difficulty with the state's position that they want to show that as a producer, he didn't follow guidelines, the judge now ruling the prosecution cannot present evidence about baldwin's role as co-producer of the movie.

>> one more, one more, one more. i forgot to record something right away. right away. let's reload. >> prosecutors wanted to show that in his role as producer, baldwin fostered an environment of negligence and recklessness by allegedly rushing people on the set to save time and money, including the movie's armorer, hannah gutierrez, who loaded the gun. she's already serving an 18 month prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter, but the judge yesterday ruled only baldwin's role as actor will be considered at trial. >> and that's good for the defense because they get to make the argument the same thing as the actor's guild. and unions have said that the actor isn't responsible for the gun. that's the producer or especially the armorer. >> prosecutors claim baldwin disregarded industry rules for handling guns on the set, but baldwin has pleaded not guilty, insisting he never pulled the trigger. >> i would never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them. never, never. that was the training that i had. you don't point a gun at me and pull the trigger. >> jury selection is set to begin today with the trial expected to last ten days. some
