the big and small screens. boy, is she a delight. >> let's go to ginger. >> "people we meet on vacation" is on my bedside right now. i'm just about to dive in. can't wait to see all of that. let's start with a look at saranac lake, new york, this morning. in a flood watch, because we've got super heavy rain, all parts of the remnants of beryl combined with the system that's going be pushing through the northeast. that elevated and then significant risk for flash flooding. upstate new york, northern vermont, and new hampshire. watch for that this morning. tornadoes come along with it, too. utica, ithaca, syracuse, on that elevated risk for tornadoes. there is some spin in this thing still. i also want to note, as you go through this weekend, we'll be cooling slightly at the coast because you've got all of this moisture pooling up against that stationary front. stationary means it doesn't move much. we will have a stormy and muggy
8:23 am

8:24 am
person. that person would need about 100 ounces of water over the course of any given day. here's the thing that's interesting when we are talking about this heat wave we are experiencing -- athletes lose up to 17 ounces of water in an hour. >> in an hour? and that is 17 ounces? >> look at this, rebecca. this is 17 ounces. am i at the line? there you are. i expect, you and i, we could probably lose this much when we are out there just sweating in a heat wave. >> and there are things you can do to make it more interesting? >> absolutely. what i tell my patients is to take 100% juice -- it has to be 100% juice -- and then about a teaspoon of salt into your juice. that's going to replenish some of the electrolytes. so you've got some potassium in here, you've got carbohydrates, and that is really what you are sweating out in these heat waves. >> so it's okay to have a little salt right now? >> absolutely. the other thing i say is liquid iv, things like that which do
8:25 am
that full replenishment, those can be a nice complement, as well. >> good to know. there are some foods over here that also help us hydrate. >> that's right. you can absolutely eat your hydration. cucumbers come in number one. about 98% water, followed by watermelon, strawberries are the most hydrating of the berries, and this is very fun. lychee also quite hydrating, around 80%. now, here, rebecca, i've got this blender, and we've got cucumber and watermelon. i'm going to blend we could literally drink it here. we go. there it goes. >> all right. >> so, so a lot of water comes out of that. a lot of water comes out. we do cucumbers. pre-dinner. my daughter has them almost every single night. and the rest everything's in season. right now too. so this is very easy to do peak of the season. >> also don't forget your lettuces, all your stone fruits and the other thing that i like
