i'm rhiannon ally. we begin with the breaking news overnight in the race for president. >> more delegates now pledging their support to vice president kamala harris. it now appears she has the support to become the democratic nominee. it comes as she heads to wisconsin today for her first rally since entering the race. >> critics are slamming the democrats for moving, too quickly to choose harris, but her supporters say she's galvanizing the party, especially among young voters. and here's abc's lionel moise with more. >> this morning, vice president kamala harris has secured commitments from enough delegates to become the presumptive democratic presidential nominee. harris, now gaining the support of more delegates from california, florida and new york and then saying overnight, i look forward to formally accepting the nomination soon. harris traveled to delaware yesterday, meeting with campaign staff in what was biden's campaign headquarters now the center of her own race for the white house, vowing she's ready to take on former president trump in those roles. >> i took on perpetrators of all kinds creditors who abused wome,

on secret service director kimberly cheadle, south carolina congresswoman nancy mace now filing an impeachment resolution against cheadle. hours after this blistering hearing on the security failures that led to the assassination attempt on former president trump. have you provided all audio and video recordings in your possession to this committee, as we asked on july 15th? >> yes or no, i would have to get back to you. >> that is a no you're full of. today cheadle, facing bipartisan calls to resign as she herself called the assassination attempt the most significant operational failure in decades. >> on july 13th, we failed. i take full responsibility for any security lapse of our agency. >> one lawmaker, even taunting cheadle, who previously worked in security at pepsico. you should be fired immediately and go back to garden. >> doritos cheeto revealed that a local swat team spotted thomas crooks on the roof of that warehouse, about 18 minutes before trump took the stage on the roof and cheadle says the

secret service was alerted between 2 to 5 times about a suspicious person before the first shot was fired. >> but cheadle says crooks was not considered a threat until seconds before the shooting. as for why no security personnel were on that roof, cheadle, in an interview with abc's pierre thomas last week, suggested the slope of the roof posed a safety concern. but members of congress visiting the site yesterday, it's not that steep at all. >> we just had a 70 year old man back here climb up. >> and now senator josh hawley says a whistleblower told his office there was supposed to be a security officer on that roof, but that person abandoned their position because of the heat. multiple investigations have been launched into the security failures, but lawmakers have expressed anger over the estimated 60 days it could take for the initial security service investigation to be completed. cheadle pushed back yesterday against accusations that the secret service denied requests for more security at the rally,

delta struggles to get back on track. four days after the microsoft crowdstrike computer outage. this is ridiculous. tensions especially high in atlanta, a delta hub and the world's busiest airport. luggage covering much of the terminal. and for those unable to find their bag, the lost luggage line was more than 100 people deep. >> look around. there's bags everywhere and there's still families just laying on here on the ground since friday. you've been here since friday. >> similar scenes in boston and jacksonville. >> i don't know where it is. >> other airlines got back to normal in the days after friday's outage, but delta still had to cancel 950 flights yesterday, more than a quarter of its schedule. it blames software that tracks delta crew members, a system that buckled under all the changes made during friday's shutdown and the airline ceo says it will take a few more days to resolve the issues. riding on monday. today will be a better day than yesterday, and hopefully tuesday and wednesday will be that much
