minister benjamin netanyahu is heading to the white house today for a meeting with president biden, their first face to face meeting since biden visited israel after the october 7th attack by hamas. vice president kamala harris will also meet with netanyahu separately, 58, believes in a terrorist state. it comes as thousands of protesters against the war in gaza converged on washington yesterday condemning netanyahu's visit, chanting free, free palestine, marching toward the capitol before police deployed pepper spray. palestine will be free. >> palestine will be free. >> demonstrators filled several blocks carrying signs with messages including arrest netanyahu. protesters even released insects, including maggots and crickets, in the watergate hotel, where netanyahu is believed to be staying outside washington's union station. protesters burned an american flag. >> the flag there on the ground was on the flagpole here at

union station a few moments ago, but protesters here lit it on fire. as well as that effigy of benjamin netanyahu. you can hear the chants one man tried to save the smoldering flag running through the crowd as he was chased by protesters during netanyahu's speech to lawmakers. >> congresswoman rashida tlaib, a michigan democrat who is censured by the house over her israel comments, held up a sign that read war criminal on one side and guilty of genocide on the other. but netanyahu remained defiant, telling lawmakers israel will settle for nothing less than total victory. >> we also help keep american boots. we help keep americans boots off the ground while protecting our shared interests in the middle east. winston churchill appealed to americans with these famous words give us the tools and we'll finish the job. >> netanyahu did not discuss the status of a cease fire deal that hamas and israel had been negotiating for weeks, but he promised the families of

far away was oswald from kennedy as the search for a motive continues, the house unanimously voted last night to create a task force to investigate the assassination attempt on trump. >> we are learning more about the us military intercepting two russian and two chinese bomber jets flying near alaska. defense officials say the bombers did not enter american or canadian airspace and were, quote, not seen as a threat. as abc's martha raddatz explains, this was a somewhat unusual event, though, coming just hours before president biden's oval office address. >> as far as we know, that has not happened in recent times. that was just off the coast of alaska, about 150 mile area on that coastline. so that is something that president biden has certainly been briefed on. but what he really has to do in these coming months is concentrate solely on being president, because it can be a very vulnerable time if you are,

in fact, a lame duck president. >> our thanks to martha raddatz for that. defense officials say they will continue to monitor activity near north america and if necessary, will quote, meet presents with presents. >> boeing and the justice department have finalized a plea deal. the company will plead guilty to a fraud charge for misleading regulators who approved the 737 max airliner that plane was involved in two crashes that killed nearly 350 people. the deal includes a $243 million fine, an independent monitor and other measures, and some breaking news overnight from northern california. >> dozens of people and vehicles are trapped by a wildfire and are sheltering in place. the so-called park fire is spreading near the city evacuations. fast moving flames have already scorched at least 6500 acres, with only about 3% containment in a wildfire. has now reached a small town right outside of one of canada's most popular national parks. firefighters are the only people left in the town

the road ahead for kamala harris on good morning america. >> we are learning new details about that exploding geyser in yellowstone national park. the usgs now says a preliminary assessment found no detectable signs warning about that explosion that occurred on tuesday. and as a precaution, the park's biscuit basin area will be closed to visitors for the rest of the season. >> now to missouri, where freedom is on hold for christopher dunn, whose murder conviction was overturned. the state supreme court halted dunn's release just as he was about to walk free. abc's andrea fujii has the details. >> this morning, a man is behind bars for now. even though a judge overturned his conviction on monday, a saint louis circuit court judge had vacated

christopher dunn's murder conviction, citing evidence of actual innocence. after he'd spent 33 years in prison. the warden was ordered to release him from prison last night. but the state attorney general, andrew bailey, who has been fighting dunn's release, filed a last minute appeal. missouri supreme court granted bailey's request to keep dunn in prison while the process plays out. dunn getting the news as he was waiting to be picked up, his wife on the way. dunn, now 52 years old, has always maintained his innocence in the 1990 murder of 15 year old rico rogers. >> i fear that the truth of what happened to me may never be known. >> with no physical evidence linking dunn to the crime, his conviction was largely based on the testimony of two boys, ages 12 and 14 at the time, who later recanted, claiming police coerced them. >> it was real dark and it was, at that time it was, dark. and

the only thing i saw was the fire coming from the, the gun. >> in 2020, dunn's attorneys brought the new evidence to a judge who agreed that a jury would likely find dunn not guilty based on the evidence. but dunn was not exonerated. then, citing a quirk in the missouri law that allows only death row inmates to be released after proving their innocence, not prisoners serving life sentences. that quirk in the law has since been addressed. dunn and his family thought he was finally heading to freedom. now they say they're devastated in the court order to keep christopher dunn in prison. the judge, who overturned his conviction is ordered to file an opposition by tomorrow. rhiannon. lionel. >> all right, andrea, thank you for that. coming up, the bus driver turned hero after rescuing a small boy. >> we'll have that story also ahead. the succession like legal ahead. the succession like legal battle for grit. guts. glory. you've got some winning genes.
