begins tomorrow morning. the 26 mile loop starts at mission street in the embarcadero at 5:15 a.m. the race wins, takes runners across the golden gate bridge and through golden gate park, fisherman's wharf and oracle park, so expect to see some street closures and public transit disruptions tomorrow. you can find a full list of the service changes on muni's weite. but a lot of people are going to be showing up for that, and they're going to be hoping for some decent weather to run in. >> spencer a great weather for
5:18 pm
runners for marathon runners, because it's going to be cooler than average and a serious runners don't want to run in the heat. >> so. >> but other non runners may not like the weather so much. okay, it'll be so much cooler than average. here's a look at what's going on right now on our satellite radar composite image. you can see sharp change in the pattern from what we had. just a few days ago. a very deep and vigorous marine layer has formed along the coast of northern california. we've got a vigorous onshore flow, bringing a cool air and even some little patches of drizzle into the mid morning hours today. right now we're looking at wind speeds generally about up to about 20mph, with some higher gusts from time to time. and the 24 hour temperature change is really significant. inland areas like fairfield, concord, livermore, 15 to nearly 20 degrees cooler than they were at this time yesterday. even on the peninsula, san carlos is 11 degrees cooler. so let's take a look at current temperature readings as you see the marine layer lingering out there. well, actually rebuilding now, it lingered for most of the day. and now it's deepening once again, 58 degrees in san francisco. we have low 60s in
5:19 pm
oakland and hayward, 70 at san jose, 64, redwood city, 57 at half moon bay. and there's the marine layer lingering over the golden gate. other temperature readings right now looking northward and eastward. 70 in santa rosa, 63 petaluma. napa, 6872 in fairfield at 66 at both concord and livermore. and now we'll check out our forecast headlines below average temperatures will be with us tomorrow through tuesday with just gradual increases of maybe 1 degrees per day as we move into the middle of the next week. minor warming begins next wednesday through friday, and then we can expect a typical summer rain summer range of warm weather beginning next weekend. overnight, we'll see again that deepening marine layer i mentioned pushing across the bay and locally inland. we'll see lots of patches of drizzle, not only offshore but along the coast and around the bay as well. so just as we experienced all said, expected and we do expect it. but just as we experienced this morning, there'll be patches of drizzle tomorrow morning. overnight low temperatures will be mainly in the mid to upper 50s. highs
5:20 pm
tomorrow about 60 at half moon bay, 65 here in the city and mainly upper 60s to low 70s around the bay shoreline. only low to mid 80s inland, which is pleasant but far below average for this time of the year. and here's the accuweather seven day forecast. notice that gradual increase in temperatures a couple of degrees each day, as i mentioned, as we get into the middle and latter part of next week. but as we head into next weekend, we'll see temperatures moving back into that mild to warm range. a few mid-nineties popping up inland by next saturday. yeah mid 90s are doable as long as we don't see those triple digits. >> no more triple digits for a while. >> i'll be calling in hot. >> uh- spencer. thank you, chris alvarez here. now with a quick look at sports. what's coming up? >> yeah, summer transitioning to fall at least feels like it's today the 40 niners through the first week of training camp. why monday is going to be fun for head coach kyle shanahan. plus tyler fitzgerald on a tear. the giant company he joined in the team's record books got that

this is the greatest team ever! (♪) (♪) is holding in and participating in team meetings, so that's a good sign for him. the team, they're off tomorrow and on monday it's time to put on the pads. monday will mark day five camp, the first day in pads. brock purdy slinging around the field in santa clara today, finding jauan jennings there. head coach kyle shanahan excited to get his guys out of the shirts and shorts. >> it's tough when you don't have pads on because it's a little when there's not a threat of a bull rush and things like that. or if they are bull rush
5:24 pm
and you don't have pads, it makes it a lot tougher. so again, i get i take it more. we won't do that until we have pads, that's one of my favorite things about monday. we get pads on and we get to watch those guys. and sometimes in team drills and stuff, and, you know, someone can have a bunch of catches or things like that, or they can get to the quarterback because of some pressures and stuff, and you don't know if it's zoned, you don't know what the situation is. but when it's one on one, you can't hide. >> it's going to be fun. on monday, stephon curry and team usa basketball open olympic competition tomorrow morning. our time against serbia. curry is reunited with kevin durant, among others. durant questionable but expected play as he recovers from a strained calf. the all star olympic team includes jayson tatum and two other members of the newly crowned champion boston celtics, leading to a funny moment when a boss reporter asked both curry and durant if tatum and the others bragged about their recent nba finals victory. >> with three celtics on the roster, how much has their championship been a talking point like? are they bringing it up or not at all? >> they.
5:25 pm
>> do they haven't brought it up or like tried to talk trash or anything out of jason every time he walked in, like just like the champ is here. >> he announced himself. >> nah, nah, we got champs on the wild behavior. yeah, we exactly. we got champs on the team. they just the most recent one. >> that's great stuff. last night tyler fitzgerald became the first giant to homer at least seven times in eight games since barry bonds did in 2004. yeah that's some elite company. fitzgerald heating up for a giants team five games under 505 and a half games out of the final wild card spot. with the trade deadline tuesday. the giants have decisions to make. buy or sell fitzgerald, though, providing the spark. >> whenever i put the right preparation in, i feel ready for the game. so, just going to continue doing that and just see how long this can last. but, no, it's just taking each day as a new day. and i don't really think about, you know, what happened yesterday, good or bad. >> last year when i saw him on
5:26 pm
the other side, you just see the athletic ability, and then you look up at the numbers and the homers and everything he can do, and it was just a matter of giving him a chance to play consistently. and he's showing you what he has to offer right now. >> all right. hey, do you see this jim harbaugh back in the nfl and the former niners coach coming off a national title at michigan. he's taking part in drills with the chargers. working on that lower body strength as he's pulling the weights backwards. harbaugh you know he's quirky. but you know the players had to do a double take. seen their head coach getting his reps in i don't think he's going to line up in pads this year. but you never know jim harbaugh. nobody's got it better than him. and back to steph and katie. they talking about the guys announcing they're here. it's kind of like some of our emmy winners i want to name names. hey i got an i'm just kidding. no no one does that here. but you could if you got it. >> absolutely. no. they're having a good time over there. everything in good fun. >> yeah, absolutely. >> chris, thank you so much. all right. firefighters across the state are working overtime trying to get a handle on multiple fires threatening homes. we're going to have one
