jr. >> christiane, we even saw protests and we saw rallies here in san francisco today. how is the dnc preparing for possible protests related to the conflict in the middle east? >> yeah, we've also seen one here in chicago, a smaller one today. look, i think the biggest takeaway is that nothing should be a surprise at this point. they've been preparing for this for months, if not years. there are barricades in place. there are street closures, and there are two major protests that are already scheduled with permits pulled on monday and thursday. and so organizers insist and officials insist, that they are here to keep everyone safe, including those protesters. jr. >> christiane, thank you so much. good luck out there this week. moving along, here's the schedule of upcoming speakers at the dnc tomorrow. president joe biden and first lady jill biden will address the crowd, along with former secretary of state hillary clinton. on tuesday, former president barack obama and second gentleman doug emhoff will take the stage. vp nominee tim walz delivers his acceptance

5:19 pm
at what's going on with our weather, starting with the satellite radar composite image. now you notice that a spiraling area spinning sort of counterclockwise there. that's our big low pressure system offshore that yesterday brought us more clouds and some drizzle. it's lifted northward just a bit, but it still has a breezy influence on the bay area. it's pretty gusty right now with wind speeds up to 33mph at sfo, 21 mile per hour gusts at novato, and pretty breezy just about everywhere else as well. nonetheless, despite that onshore breeze, it is warmer in most places than at this time yesterday, six degrees warmer in concord and fairfield, four degrees warmer in novato and santa rosa. two degrees warmer at oakland. so let's move along and take a look at what's going on right now. live view from mount tam looking down onto the bay under sunny skies 67 degrees here in san francisco. mid 70s at oakland and hayward. we've got 77 degrees right now at both san jose and redwood city, and 66 at half moon bay. and once again, blue sky over the golden gate. we had lots of clouds there yesterday as the golden gate was socked in for most of the day, but it's bright and
5:20 pm
breezy right now, 79 degrees up north at santa rosa right now. petaluma 72. 80 at napa. 85 at fairfield. concord 81. 80 at livermore. so it's pretty mild in most of our inland areas. and here's a view from emeryville looking toward the golden gate. and these are the forecast headlines overnight. we'll see some coastal clouds and lots of patchy drizzle. most of it will be offshore, but 1 or 2 locations on land may actually get some drizzle in the early morning hours beginning in the week. the first couple of days tomorrow and monday, sunnier tomorrow and tuesday, i should say sunny and much warmer. but later in the week we'll have a cooling trend and temperatures will drop rather sharply. but for tonight, look for that continuing onshore flow. we'll see a little bit of a marine layer developing during the early morning hours and lots of drizzle offshore as i mentioned, but it'll all burn back to the coastline by mid morning, giving way to another sunny day and a mild one tomorrow. overnight low temperatures will be mainly in the low to mid 50s, a little chillier up in the north bay where lows will drop into the upper 40s at cloverdale and santa rosa, and then tomorrow's high 63 at half moon bay, 68
5:21 pm
here in the city, oakland 73 and right around the bay shoreline, mainly mid to upper 70s up in the north bay. look for highs of 86 at santa rosa, 79 at napa, mid to upper 80s in the inland east bay. close to 90 degrees. here's the accuweather seven day forecast notice. we'll see some 90 degree readings on tuesday as it turns hot inland. we'll see mid 90s in the warmest inland spots and up to about 80 around the bay shoreline. still warm on wednesday, but temperatures will drop a few degrees from tuesday and then later in the week, thursday, friday. going into the weekend, we'll see quite a cool down. in fact, high temperatures at the end of the week will be cooler than average for this time of the year, so the ups and downs continue. sort of like a roller coaster. >> yeah, i imagine the parks are busy in san francisco today. last day of freedom. >> they should be. >> thank you so much, spencer. it all came to an end today at the oakland coliseum, the last game ever played as what will forever be known as
