georgia. jennifer lopez filed for divorce from ben affleck under her legal name, jennifer alec, and reportedly there's no prenup. >> the divorce case is unwanted attention for a celebrity. they're not in control of this, and it's generally a negative thing for them to go through. so i imagine they want to get this done as quickly as possible. >> juju: christopher melcher is a los angeles-based divorce attorney. he repped kanye west against kim kardashian and katie holmes against tom cruise. >> in california, all the divorce records and proceedings are open to the public. so with a high-profile public, this creates a risk to their brand. >> i think people care about celebrity breakups because these people are on magazine covers, they're on our tvs. so it feels like we are signing up to be a part of a relationship from a distance. so when it goes awry, you know, you -- people want to know all the details.

more powerful than the tv networks, way more powerful than "the washington post" and "new york times," and way more influential with voters. >> reporter: from an interview with elon musk -- >> i'm looking at the numbers, you've got a lot of people listening. >> reporter: to kamala harris' viral moments -- >> you think you fell out of a coconut tree? >> reporter: thousands of users. the presidential hopefuls are battling online to engage voters, especially one on ones. one-third of adults under 30 regularly sacral tiktok for news, up 255% since 2020. >> if you can get the youth to engage a little more, the thinking is, that can change the election. >> reporter: so far, harris seems to have the edge with young voters. our latest abc news poll shows harris leading trump by 20 points with 18 to 39-year-olds. >> what we really need is --

>> a feminine icon! >> it is true that younger voters tended to vote more democratic when they vote at all. the biggest question is not typically how they vote, but how many of them vote. and that's where the enthusiasm that can be engendered by authentic communication through influencers can make a difference. >> reporter: in terms of followers, trump beats harris, 10.5 million to her 4.6 million on tiktok. >> i constantly joke with president trump that he was the ultimate influencers, the original, the og influencer. >> reporter: last month, about 70 content creators were credentialed at the republican national convention. >> we're on the floor of the rnc convention. >> reporter: the idea, to bring them in, 18-year-old high school senior brylen hollyhand, rnc council chair. >> my message was that the republican party is an endangered species at risk of extinction. i went into this meeting

thinking it would be a hard sell, and they immediately went for it. >> reporter: he think theys, at least anecdotally, it was a success. >> i went to school. having my peers know because their favorite fitness influencer posted a video, their video video game streamer posted to tiktok. that was fun and rewarding to see. >> reporter: in chicago we met may lin sa hale, one of the 200 credentialed dnc influencers. do you call yourself an influencers? >> i think of myself as your best friend you're having a deep conversation with online. >> reporter: she says she sees her role here as different from traditional media. where do you see the difference between the two? >> i can take what i heard and what i learned from traditional media and maybe express to it my audience in a way that will make them understand a one-minute reel instead of watching a longer news segment. >> reporter: many influencers say they're not being paid by

the convention or campaign, but some are funded by pacs. >> it futures the burden on voters to say, this is not a journalist, this is not where i get fact checking. >> the dnc isn't just granting access, it's creating space. we're standing in an area specifically built for influencers on the convention floor and feet from the stage. the first influencer to take the stage this week, deja fox. >> we need kamala harris. >> whoo! >> she'll deliver a future where we can decide if and when to start a family. >> reporter: she's an influencer and abortion rights activist. >> i'm a young woman, you're a middle-aged man -- >> reporter: she went viral for confronting her senator, jeff flake, over his support for defunding reproductive health and family planning programs. the moment shared on facebook by planned parenthood advocates of arizona. >> so why is your right to take
