losing by a touchdown, or single digits, and that was something that dawson odums really wanted to correct from last year to this year. >> jay: team showed a lot of fight. you know, they wanted to be in this situation. they had their chances, as well. maybe just not there yet. and give credit, give a lot of credit to florida a&m. coach said, give me what we need to win this game in the fourth quarter. and florida a&m made one or two more plays in this second half to put them in the driver's seat. but the special teams from norfolk state, they're going to -- unless a miracle happens here, they're going to be haunted by the blocked field goal, missed extra point. four points right there that, as we see would have made a difference. and let you know norfolk state still has a way to go to get out of their own way.

pocket. protects the football very well. puts them in the right place to make a play. >> tiffany: on the other side, the frustration there for dawson odums. who saw his team again put up a valiant effort, but florida a&m found a way to come back after being down 14-0. >> jay: when nobody else thought norfolk state had a chance, dawson odums said, oh, there's going to be a game plan. and they were almost an extra point away, two-point conversion away from pulling off a huge upset. but this is going to be a fantastic season of hbcu football. >> tiffany: he had several wins while coaching in canada, and then after winning a national championship with florida a&m as an associate head coach, james colzie iii collects his first

ever as the head coach of florida a&m, as the rattlers continuing to feel like atlanta is home to them. they showed it tonight, and as james colzie iii soaks in mom moment. and right here, you are just going to feel up of that, but that -- that showering never felt so good. quite a relief. and the way that his team was able to dominate, the adjustments thadjustment s were made for that dark cloud defense. you mentioned, jay, just the poise and the capability of daniel richardson, after beating out and daniel richardson got the qb-1 starting job. he's starting by with quint kessenich. >> quint: congratulations,

can't go home tonight after a fire raced through a townhouse in east san jose. the fire started just before three today on cicero way near quimby road, quickly spreading to both units. it was so intense. one firefighter ended up in the hospital with burns. firefighters say all the people got out okay, but two dogs died in the fire. no word on how it started. new developments in a deadly shooting in the east bay. police in dublin say they tracked down the man accused of killing another man at the emerald park apartments yesterday. they arrested him today. nearly 400 miles away in barstow. no details yet on the motive. now to the gunshots fired in the heart of san francisco's famous haight-ashbury district. san francisco police say a possible argument turned into a shooting on haight street at masonic. it happened around 245 today. a busy time on a busy street. police say they didn't find anyone who was hurt and they have not made any arrests. a

chaotic night in the north bay ends with one person dead, another in the hospital, and so many police were on the scene there that they couldn't respond to all of them. police in vallejo say they were handling one shooting when they got a call about a second in the middle of a sideshow it right there. this was the wild scene around 12:50 a.m. sideshow participants standing in a ring of fire as drivers did donuts around them. this was at lewis brown road and b.w. williams drive when the shooting call came in. vallejo police had to ask solano county deputies to respond. police say one man was shot and killed. they believe the man was in a car, though it's not clear if he was part of the sideshow or just passing by. police haven't arrested anyone tied to the shooting. four people were arrested for the sideshow. three others were cited. a weird start to this

august weekend with showers in san francisco. the national weather service says sfo picked up more than 250% of its average august rainfall in just one hour. and up in the mountains, something even more unusual snow in august. palisades tahoe shared video of the fresh flakes this morning. the resort says it's their 1st august snow in 20 years. looking live outside now at a calmer evening from tahoe to the bay area. abc7 news weather anchor spencer christian tracking big changes for tomorrow. spencer. okay, j.r. >> it's much calmer now as you pointed out. it was a bit weird earlier today as some bay area locations had up to a 10th of an inch of rainfall. right now we're looking at the satellite radar composite image. here's the low pressure system that delivered us all that active weather, which is now moving well to our east and things are calming down. so take a look at what's going on with this. clicker is so slow. bear with m.

oh, there it is. it changed. okay, the winds right now are generally calmer. much calmer than they were earlier this evening when we had some pretty strong gusts. but right now wind speeds are generally under 15mph. it is, however, a few degrees warmer in most locations than at this time yesterday evening. here's a view looking across the embarcadero from our rooftop camera. 64 degrees here in san francisco right now. 69 at both oakland and hayward and at redwood city. as a matter of fact, 70 in san jose, 63 at half moon bay, at the golden gate. it's a little misty right now as the clouds are getting lower, but we're not getting any reports of actual precipitation. 68 degrees in santa rosa right now. petaluma 61. 67 at napa and at livermore 66. fairfield. concordegrees. and as we look along the bay bridge from emeryville, let's check out our forecast headlines overnight. we'll see patchy drizzle near the coast. a little bit of it may move onshore, but it won't be very widespread. tomorrow sunnier than today, which is not a hard feat to accomplish. and turning warmer than today. and then early next week, we'll see some sizzling summer heat moving

into the bay area for at least 2 or 3 days. overnight, look for increasing low clouds and some high clouds as well. there will be lots of patches of drizzle offshore once again. some of it may move onshore, but it won't be very widespread, so we're not looking at wet conditions tomorrow morning, just a couple of damp spots overnight. low temperatures will be mainly in the mid to upper 50s 55 here in san francisco, 57 in many locations across the bay and into the inland areas. the warmest of the lows will be in antioch, which will have a low of only 62 degrees, which is a pretty mild overnight temperature reading now. high temperatures tomorrow 69. half moon bay 74. here in san francisco, across the bay in oakland, we're looking at a high of 79 right around the bay shoreline. there'll be several locations that will warm up to the mid 80s. so it's going to be pretty mild to warm around the bay shoreline tomorrow up in the north bay, look for highs of 82 at napa 87 santa rosa. the inland east bay 90 8890 at antioch 90. it's hard to say 90 at concord, 92 at fairfield and down to the south bay. we'll see

a high of 85 at san jose and here is the accuweather seven day forecast. so monday it starts to really heat up. we'll see inland highs in the mid or mid to upper 90s mid 80s around the bay shoreline up to about 100 degrees inland on tuesday. so we'll have some sizzling inland heat then mid to upper 80s around the bay shoreline on tuesday. wednesday still pretty warm, but the heat begins to ease just a bit. then going into the latter part of the week, we'll see temperatures tapering off. and by next saturday, temperatures will be once again below average for this time of the year. so the heat is not going to last very long. j.r. >> spencer thank you so much. with 72 days to the november election, a lot of our focus is on the presidential race with vice president kamala harris and former president donald trump taking the day off from the campaign trail. we want to take a minute and talk about what else is on your ballot. the future of san francisco's great highway will be decided in november. groups both for and against the plan to ban cars, held rallies today. prop k would

kick cars off a two mile stretch of the great highway along ocean beach, turning it, turning it into a park. drivers would have to use sunset boulevard instead. supporters say it would improve air quality and increase foot traffic for businesses. >> and we're talking about a section that's only an area with no on and off ramps for access into the sunset district, so the rest of the great highway will be open for business for cars 24 over seven. we're talking about this other section and why not make it a park? because it could bring a renaissance to the sunset district and a boon to local business. >> a group of people against prop k held a march near civic center this morning. they're concerned about a closure, sending too much traffic into their neighborhoods. >> there's health issues, safety issues. you're having 14,000 vehicles on the streets where your kids are trying to play or walk on the sidewalk, or get out of the car of their parents and things. it's dangerous. >> neighbors in the no on prop k

and can you count the mistakes being made? the i-team's dan noyes can and did tonight on abc seven news at 11. how what should have been a simple traffic stop escalated into a near fatal situation. investigators in germany have arrested two people tied to a stabbing rampage that left three people dead at a city celebration. eight others were injured in the attack in the western city of solingen, including four who have life threatening injuries. police arrested one man, as well as a 15 year old boy accused of failing to report planned crimes. isis claimed

responsibility for friday's attack, though police have not verified a connection. the motive is still unclear, but authorities are treating it as a possible terrorist incident. two nasa astronauts who have been stuck on the international space station for nearly two months, won't be back on earth until february. sunita williams and barry butch wilmore traveled into space on a boeing starliner in early june. they were only supposed to be there eight days, but boeing's spacecraft had problems with its propulsion system. today nasa announced the astronauts will remain in orbit until early next year, then hitch a ride back to earth on a spacex flight. >> space flight is risky, even at its safety. safest and so the decision to keep butch and sunny aboard the international space station and bring the boeing starliner home uncrewed is the

result of a commitment to safet. >> the spacex mission was already scheduled, but it will be reconfigured to carry two astronauts instead of four, leaving two empty seats for williams and wilmore on the flight home. many arrivals to burning man got delayed today after more than expected rain, reminiscent of the muddy mess they experienced last year. i remember it well as i reported on that mud in nevada last year. today, traffic control had to shut down gate road all morning on one of the busiest travel days of the festival. the mud dried up enough just after three this afternoon to get things moving again burners. those are sea lions. they've taken over a beach in monterey. officials were forced to close san carlos beach to the public on monday, and it remains closed today. this is their rest stop between their breeding grounds and the channel islands.
