thunderstorms for tomorrow. looking at our temperatures today, we're headed up for the upper 50s and low 60s. overall a coolish afternoon, but then tomorrow it's about the same, but more clouds, and the arrival of that rain. let's go through the timeline of that rain. once again, looking at sunshine for today, but by about 6:00 tomorrow morning, we're starting to see some light rain moving into the north bay, and then it's going to be very spotty, with the rest of the bay area really not seeing the rain until the evening commute. by about 6:30, we're starting to see the rain ramp up, picking up in intensity for the north bay, and then spreading across the rest of the bay area from san francisco to the peninsula, toward the east bay, with a lot of bright colors here indicating some heavier rainfall. so we'll see that tomorrow evening into wednesday. and there's the possibility that we could see anywhere from about a half inch of rain in parts of the tri-valley, to even three-quarters of an inch of rain in parts of the south bay into the east bay.
5:19 am
north bay also looking at about the same rainfall totals. looking ahead, we have some colder storms that are going to be moving in from friday into the weekend. very active storm pattern continuing into next week as well, and we definitely needed that at this point because the sierra snowpack, statewide on average, is only 28% of normal. and think back to a year ago where we were at 163% of normal, so this is a big change. they're looking forward to more snow. we have a little more coming over the next few days, and then looking ahead, it looks like there could be a lot more coming with the potential over the next week or so, maybe even two or three feet of snow, so that would be amazing. and we've been waiting on the cooler temperatures to make that happen, and we're going to see our temperatures cooling down as well. so we have our rain chances tomorrow evening into wednesday, we're dry on thursday, with
