56 degrees. as we go into the day tomorrow, our temperatures don't change much, but rain will be coming in and quickly sweeping across the bay area. only lasting a couple of hours for most of us. and during that time we're looking at about a tenth of an inch of rain or less. it may be a little bit higher farther to the north with ukiah measuring about a quarter inch of rain. so then after that passes, there's another round of rain coming in on wednesday. and that's mostly during the late morning, early afternoon, and then it will also clear out quickly. we have a couple of days of dry conditions before a bigger storm system arrives for the weekend. and most likely this is going to be the atmospheric river we were looking at farther to the north. as it moves into the bay area, it's going to bring in heavier rainfall, as well as some heavier sierra snow. as of now, models are still going back and forth on how much rain we could see. in total, it does show that in areas in red we could have about an inch and a half of rainfall,
6:21 am
heavier rainfall staying to the north. for the sierra, we could see possibly with the first round of snow about 9 to 14 inches, and additional snowfall this weekend. heads up if you do plan to travel there, it's going to be hazardous trying to get to the sierra. our temperatures, very chilly. look at thursday morning. we are down to 31 degrees, so even colder than this morning. and our highs in the upper 50s. then the rain coming in on saturday along with some gusty winds. i'll be tracking all of that for you. mike, you're tracking a crash in contra costa county. >> we're also following -- the recovery on the bay bridge, it was very slow earlier, a disabled vehicle, continued clearing on the span. the backup goes through the maze. the build at the richmond bridge, highway 37, and then the crash on highway 4. it's over at bailey. it's in lanes right now. there is more of a backup forming back from about kirker pass road. that would be railroad exit that transitions. one of your cut-downs toward

6:34 am
flights to make sure the airplanes are safe, then i would prefer that. >> reporter: now, i did ask him if the airline compensated him for his extra night. he said because the faa ordered the grounding of the aircraft that the airline is not compensating them. they did have to go out of pocket for that. he is one of 25,000 passengers who were impacted yesterday from these cancellations, and today, as of this morning, hundreds more of those flights are already impacted nationwide. so we'll keep a close eye on that throughout the morning and throughout the day. >> so many people, not just the ones on that flight, it's affecting. >> thank you, ginger. new at 6:00, the robotaxi company cruise is reportedly offering $75,000 to settle a dispute with state regulators over the handling of a crash last year. it happened in october. investigators say a driverless car struck and dragged a woman who had just been hit by another
