virgin virginia today an israeli official confirms that they are willing to accept a halt for two months in fighting to secure the release of the remaining hostages. let's get the latest from chapman bell how realistic is this proposal >> reporter: good morning, frances. we'll see. while it's a big step forward or i should say towards a cease-fire by israel, it does not propose a permanent stop to the war that began on october 7, when hamas invaded israel. but this proposal for a two-month pause in fighting would be in exchange for all the remaining hostages held by hamas in gaza. somewhere in the region of 130 people however, an israeli official recognizing that some of those have died. but they would want the bodies of those who have deceased in captivity to be returned by hamas. this proposal first reported by axios would see the release of

hostages in faphases in exchange for an as-yet specified number of palestinian prisoners held by israel it was proposed by israel through mediators in qatar and egypt. however, hamas has been demanding a permanent stop to the fighting as well as the withdrawal of israeli forces in gaza and in exchange of a large number of palestinian prisoners held by israel so while it shows their willingness on israel's part to make a deal, it may not go far enough as far as hamas is concerned. they've yet to reply to this proposal, but there's been growing calls worldwide for israel to bring an end to this war as this humanitarian crisis in gaza has unfolded, as well as pressure at home to bring these hostages home. so we'll see how it all plays out, but it may just being the beginning, frances >> watching who will budge and how far it will go, chapman,

fulton county d.a. willis is facing a separate court battle of her own, that she benefitted from a romantic relationship with nathan wade, a high-profile member of the team prosecuting trump. willis is fighting a subpoena to testify in wade's divorce proceeding a judge ordered those records unsealed it all stems from a bombshell court filing from trump co-defendant michael roman, questioning the process by which wade was hired and that funds were used to fund vacations for wade and willis. records show wade purchased airline tickets to travel with willis >> these are corrupt people. >> reporter: willis has not responded to the allegations but appeared to defend wade while speaking at a recent martin luther king day celebration. >> i appointed three special
