coronation, britain's king charles has been diagnosed with cancer the palace is not saying what kind, though let's go live to chapman bell live at buckingham palace. what do we know about the king's condition and reaction to it >> reporter: good morning, frances. there's news coming from buckingham palace yesterday in time to make headlines tide. the king has cancer, one and another, charles is so grateful they caught it early. now this cancer was discovered when charles was receiving treatment for a benign enlarged prostate and the palace saying, while it's not prostate cancer, this form of cancer was found during his treatment in hospital last month. and he's said to be receiving expert care. the king traveling from sandringham yesterday to begin outpatient treatment for this form of cancer he's still in london this morning. now the diagnosis was made public, in part due to his relationship with cancer

charities throughout the year. the king deciding to make it public, to let people know what he was going through now he has been told by doctors to suspend any public engagements coming up or postpone them. the queen, though, is said to be continuing her public duties this also comes after the hospitalization of the princess of wales for an abdominal operation and spending nearly two weeks in hospital. the prince of wales, prince william, set to resume public duties tomorrow, upon hearing this announcement on the king yesterday. and he will continue his public duties after being by the princess of wales' bedside but there is hope that they caught it early, and they, they, the king is said to be looking forward to resuming public duties as soon as he can >> news weighing heavily on the people of britain and the royal family thank you. new this morning

articles of impeachment against the head of homeland security have reached the house floor the rules committee advanced the resolution last night, mean the full chamber will now debate and vote on the impeachment of secretary alejandro mayorkas the secretary has been the target of house republicans over his handling of the border crisis brie jackson joins us now from d.c. good morning how is the president responding to this effort to impeach a member of his cabinet? >> reporter: the white house shared its strongest condemnation so far overnight. the administration calls this effort unprecedented and unconstitutional saying this won't do anything to solve the challenges at the border president biden is urging congress to instead pass the senate's bipartisan border security bill. those reforms just got a boost of support from the front lines of the border crisis the border patrol union which represents more than 18,000 agents has endorsed the bill, saying it would drop illegal border crossings nationwide and that they hope for a quick
