rivera the west coast is still feeling the impact of the powerful atmospheric river. president biden spoke with california's governor and the mayor of los angeles, promising that federal resources will be made available as soon as they are requested. in northern california, at least three people have been killed by fallen trees the los angeles area was drenched by more than a month's worth of rain in one day there's still a threat of more flash flooding and mudslides more than 200,000 power outages are reported across california near las vegas, several people were feared missing in an avalanche, but thankfully everyone was located nbc meteorologist angie lassman joins us with the latest on this storm. >> we're not done with this system just yet. we've still got the alerts up. we've got 29 million people still in the flood alerts, including portions of southern california, extending into arizona anw and wind alertsnd al

notice all the snow that we're going to see work to the west. we'll see places like the rockies picking up additional snowfall that will leave us with difficult travel for that region meanwhile, as we get into wednesday, the system works a little farther to the east but the showers and a few snowshowers as well continue to impact folks across the west we will see some of that difficult travel lasting for tomorrow as well, across portions of the rockies, and then the plains will start to see some of that impact as we wrap up the day tomorrow by the time thursday rolls around, it's the upper midwest, the northern plains that start to see the impact there. when it's all said and done, we'll have additional rainfall, frances that will pick up another inch or two across portions that already received a month's worth of rain in just a couple days. back over to you. >> hope they get that break soon, thank you, angie the shocking announcement from buckingham palace, less

than 18 months after his coronation britain's king charles has been diagnosed with cancer. the palace is not saying what kind, though the king was treated for prostate enlargement just less than a week and a half ago president biden said he and the first lady are praying for the king's recovery. let's go to chapman bell >> reporter: real front page news here, one, the king has cancer we also have king, i have cancer and followed by charles is so grateful they caught it early. and that goes without saying he was, just last month, being treated for a benign prostate enlargement. that's where he's said to, the doctors were said to have found this cancer. they are not saying what kind of cancer, but they're saying it is not prostate cancer.

through this treatment for the enlarged prostate they were able to find this kind of cancer and they caught it early and he's begun treatment. he traveled from sandringham to london to receive treatment as an outpatient. he's here in london this morning still. the diagnosis was made public, and that's due to his relationship with cancer-related charities over the years he wanted to come out and let people know that he was diagnosed, as he is of course the head of state. he's said to have told his sons personally, and we understand prince harry will be traveling from los angeles to london to be with his father, who he's not seen since his father's coronation prince william is set to resume public duties tomorrow he, of course, has been at his wife, the princess of wales' side since she received an operation last month we understand treatment is going and he is hopeful they caught it
