tuesday. >> that's always been the fact in each race, can we stay competitive? when 70% of americans say they don't want joe biden or donald trump, you keep going so people have a choice. >> reporter: in some states, just getting some votes won't help her much. five of these states award candidates all their delegates for the person who wins at least 50% of the vote, like mr. trump has done in every state so far but technically, the republican race won't be over because even if donald trump has a gang busters evening, he still can't hit the magic number to clench the nomination 1,215. that could come as early as next week >> our thanks to hallie for that report donald trump will appear on co colorado's primary ballot today, in part because of a major supreme court decision yesterday. in a unanimous ruling, the justices decided that states cannot kick the former president off the ballot

colorado's highest court ruled that trump could not run for office again because he had been part of an insurrection. but the supreme court decided that states have no right to make at that call, ruling that congress must enact legislation in order to ban a presidential candidate. trump praised the ruling >> essentially, you cannot take somebody out of a race because an opponent would like to have it that way. while most states were thrilled to have me, there were some that didn't, and they didn't want that for political reasons >> justices still have to address whether the former president is immune for criminal prosecution for actions he took while in office. the court will hear arguments in that case next month also on monday, the supreme court temporarily blocked a new texas law that would have allowed police to arrest people suspected of illegally entering the u.s. justice samuel alito issued a stay of the law until march 13th, to give all nine justices more time to determine their next steps
