breaking overnight, deadly storms tore across the midwest and southern plains, knocking out power to tens of thousands and bringing tornados and massive hail at least two people were killed in ohio. emergency crews in one ohio county reporting a tornado and estimated half-mile wide, crossing the highway over 13 million were under tornado alerts with more reports of twisters in indiana, kentucky and texas. indian police according to the national weather service, weather service, the massive wreckage is likely from a tornado up to half of the buildings in nearby selma may have been damaged. giant hail fell thursday night in texas and residents in kansas dodged pieces the size of golf balls. for the latest on all of this and what to expect today let's bring in nbc meteorologist angie lassman. >> yesterday quite a busy

evening hours and into the overnight. of course we saw about eight tornado reports, and you can see the two that you just mentioned. winchester, indiana, the time frame was 5:00 to 7:00 we saw tornado warnings first for winchester at 7:39 20 to 25 minutes between both of these warnings being issued and the tornados moving through u the good news is we are aren't seeing any more of thoses watchs or warnings anymore. today's severe risk smaller but still not zero we have a bull's eye around austin and san antonio tuscaloosa to jackson, also the greatest potential's going to be for some of that large hail. and we'll watch for the wind gusts and of course a few tornados as well here's the deal. the system will continue to work its way to the east. we'll still be unsettled across
