but hunter biden's family says the prosecution has only offered speculation, not hard evidence. and at president's son is accused of lying on a federal background check when buying a gun in 2018. prosecutors used evidence from hunter biden's laptop and called ten witnesses. many of them described his frequent drug use in the past. but biden's defense team argued that the testimony focussed on drug abuse over a four-year period and that no one witnessed actual drug use during the window of time when the gun was purchased. deliberations will continue in just a few hours. hunter biden faces anything from probation to prison time if he is convicted. and that's the same range of punishment donald trump faces after being convicted of falsifying business records in his new york hush money trial. the former president sat for an interview yesterday with a new york probation officer. mr. trump got permission to attend virtually from mar-a-lago in florida, and to have his

attorney, todd blanche, join him. probation officers generally ask about things like financial resources, mental health and links to any other convicted criminals. they'll also ask you have remorse for the crime you were convicted of. this all goes into a report that the judge will consider for the sentencing that's scheduled a month from today. on july 11th. meanwhile, four sources tell nbc news mr. trump will be in washington, d.c. on thursday to meet with republican senators about their agenda for next year. that is if they win their elections in november. >> alice barr reporting for us, thank you. the mugshot of a close ally of donald trump has been released. rudy giuliani appeared before a booking procedure on monday in maricopa county in connection with state charges that he conspired to help overturn the 2020 election results in arizona. the former new york city mayor has pleaded not guilty. adding further momentum to

11-year-old in the los angeles area in the fall of 2020. at the time, the wealthy 60-year-old was chasing the car of her boyfriend, former dodgers pitcher scott eriksson, who was not charged. grossman wrote, as god as my witness, i did not see anyone or anything in the road, adding that she would have then driven my car into a tree. we are learning more about a disturbing video showing los angeles police dropping off a homeless man and then driving off as he collapses on the sidewalk. here's morgan chesky. >> reporter: it's the video igniting a blame game between los angeles and a neighboring city over the alleged dumping of a homeless man outside their jurisdiction. two burbank police officers seen on a north hollywood street in l.a., taking a man out of their cruiser and removing his handcuffs. moments later, he falls to his knees. appearing unable to walk. once the burbank cruiser pulls away, the man collapses onto the

sidewalk. los angeles city council president, whose office surveillance camera captured the ordeal says multiple agencies are now investigating. >> this is callous, cruel, inhumane. >> reporter: burbank police say they were responding to a call of a naked man at a bus stop. the department says he had been taken to a burbank hospital from an l.a. neighborhood. after declining medical help, police say they offered him a ride, adding he voluntarily got into the patrol vehicle and was driven to l.a.'s metro station before he asked to get out for a coffee, and officers complied. the controversy comes amid the backdrop of a historic homeless crisis in l.a. with 46,000 people without housing. >> we've known for a long time that other cities, other jurisdictions prefer to just push people into los angeles rather than addressing the problem themselves. >> reporter: burbank police tell nbc news the department is

conducting their own investigation, reviewing both body and in-car camera footage, all of it centered around the actions of those two officers. >> thanks to morgan for that report. a suspect in custody after a massive fire at a miami apartment building. the mayor saying the suspect allegedly shot an employee and then intentionally set the fire. the officials say more than 40 people were rescued. some forced to evacuate from their balconies. the wounded employee, a resident and three firefighters were taken to the hospital. on the west coast, the coast guard rescued six people after their boat caught fire on lake tahoe. they had to jump into the lake to escape the flames. the coast guard rescued the boat owners, and a good samaritan saved four others and a dog. no one was hurt and no word yet on what sparked the fire. new this morning, the port of baltimore has been fully reopened more than two months after the francis scott key bridge collapsed. maryland governor wes moore

declared the channel has been cleared of debris. he added our work is not over until we rebuild the francis scott key bridge. it's a process expected to take years. six maintenance workers were killed when a cargo ship lost propulsion and crashed into the bridge on march 26. heavy rainfall is targeting the sunshine state. meteorologist angie lastsman is watching the flood risk for florida. >> we gear up for heavy rain across the state as we get through the week. 6 million people under flood watches, stretching from west palm down to naemiami and naple. we'll see multiple rounds of this rain. it will be unsettled for days and days. this is a look at tomorrow. you can see more periods of really heavy rain. the good news is we initially do need rain across the state of florida. they're under a moderate drought. but by the time we get into friday, we're talking about difficulty with saturated grounds, swollen streams, and it doesn't take much to flood in

well as ipads and macs. we have a preview of apple's twist on artificial intelligence. good morning, charlotte. >> good morning. it has been a much-awaited unveiling on how apple was planning to integrate a.i. it will be supported by chatgpt. the features will be free and will start rolling just this summer. so apple gave some examples. you'll be able to ask siri, when is mom's flight landing. it will do a search of text messages and bring you the answer. it will be more accurate doing research. regarding privacy concerns, apple says many of the new a.i. features will run entirely on the device, without the data leaving the phone. and for other features that would require to go in the cloud, they would not be stored and made accessible to apple.
