but it's been tough going for firefighters on the front lines. this morning, crews scrambling to gain the upper hand on a rapidly expanding fire fight. the park fire has already blackened over 360,000 acres, quickly becoming one of the largest in california's history. the size and intensity of the flames generating so-called fire tornadoes, destroying dozens of homes in mountain communities of northern california that are all too familiar with disasters like this. >> there is so much trauma in our community. it wears on our first responders, firefighters, law enforcement. >> reporter: new satellite images showing how a small fire exploded into a sprawling behemoth. burning through thousands of acres an hour across multiple counties. firefighters working around the clock. >> the line, of course, is the highway. they're trying to push the flames back as far as they can away from community centers.

stories. milder conditions are helping firefighters on the front lines of the massive park fire, which is now burning in four northern california counties in a new update this morning, crews say that it is still 12% contained, but at least 100 structures are known to be destroyed. 368,000 acres have burned, making this the sixth largest fire in california history. most of the fire now burning in tehama county, though it did start last week in neighboring butte county. meanwhile, the suspect accused of starting the fire is expected in court later today. good morning. i'm thom jensen at the bart station in daly city, where red line service is now restored to all bart riders. the red line, which runs from richmond to sfo and into millbrae, was down along with the green line after a fire saturday, all stations were back open and running again by sunday morning, and this morning bart announced
