pacific, and that intensifies the winds, and that is what census these large swells. oftentimes, we can get the big swells without necessarily getting the major rain event. so it is going to be a busy winter regardless of what the precipitation looks like. we have got more rain coming though. there's actually a much more impressive rainmaker coming in tomorrow than what we had yesterday. let me show you what this system looks like out in the pacific. and we are going to play this forward to tomorrow. and watch the way the storm comes in, in terms of the way the rain is oriented. we have got a cold front coming in, but it is oriented almost perfectly north-south. let's take a look at that and play it forward. this is a little different than the system that came in yesterday. that is tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. by that point, we have seen the leading edge of the rain just approach the north coast. but then we get right at 12:00 when it is coming into the heart of the north bay. let's pause it for a moment. this is the early afternoon tomorrow. just as we

are getting to an evening commute tomorrow -- however much of an evening commute as this is an awfully -- but you have the cold front moving in a normal way. everything is coming in from the west and going to the east. but the rain with and it is coming up almost from south to north, which means this is going to be an equal rainmaker for the bay. does not win the comes in from the north first, drops the majority of its rain first, and weakens as a comes to the rest of the bay. this one comes in in such a way that it will offer widespread rain to parts of the bay that have not really seen some of the better rainfall totals yet. and we can look at this in a couple of ways. look at the totals just for the north bay. that is an inch of rain coming for the heavier spots. maybe it is a 10th of the inch in toto. but when we look at the south bay, this is really where the story starts to stand out even more. look here. three quarters of an inch of rain coming to san jose tomorrow. this will be more

noticeable rain. this could even cause particularly right to that mid afternoon section maybe some localized ponding of water on roadways. it is not a major concern, but it will be more impactful rain that we have seen. and that will get windy. watch the screen light up tomorrow morning. we will see our 30 to 40 mile-an-hour wind gusts go along with it. and in terms of any style in the sierra, this will be a pretty decent snow maker from a snow elevation standpoint. in other words, the snow should get fairly far down the highway down to about 4003. so if you have got anyone who has got to travel in the sierra on friday, friday afternoon into saturday morning, they are going to counter enough snow that there is going to be delays. and this is not a blockbuster snowstorm by any means. >> coming out to visit her

coming back home who does not have a whole lot of experience with putting the chains up, they have got to be prepared for that. all right. let's get into the seven-day forecast for now. we will take a look at the rest of the days. no significant concerns for rain on new year's or new year's day. there could be a drop or shower coming in on sunday, but it does not look like anything that would impact plans in any big way. the next system comes in tuesday to wednesday of next week. we will deal with that as we get closer to it. a lot coming and relatively so. it is not like one of the big strands of last winter but it will be one of the bigger reins of this season. >> you have got to hand it to the timing as well, leaving those holidays free. again, another round of rain is ahead and belly waters offering residence free sandbags in advance of that. this is at the service chart on center road. some of those service sites might require proof of residency. brock purdy just celebrated
