well, san francisco fire says a group of 10 to 15 people set this waymo robotaxi on fire tonight in chinatown. this video posted to x not long ago shows flames and a huge plume of smoke coming from inside the car, the entire cab engulfed. this is video of the aftermath posted by frisco live 415. the smoke still pouring out of the cab as well as some graffiti on the side. the entire top of the car is completely gone. now, waymo tells us the fire was started when someone threw a firecracker into the car. and
11:14 pm
this video also posted by frisco live shows the exact same intersection not long before that fire. you can see a large group of people blocking the road, and they were setting off fireworks tonight. this is more video posted on x showing what led up to the fire. a group of people was seen tagging the outside of the waymo. a few of them smashing the windows as well. now, san francisco police and fire are still looking into the cause and trying to track down any suspects. luckily, waymo says there was not a passenger inside the car at the time. that's part of san jose's celebrations today on the first day of the lunar new year. and in san francisco at chinatown's historic portsmouth square, people came out dressed in traditional garb. children received gifts

and enjoyed the famed dragon dancers. city and even state leaders, elected leader, were present for the ceremony, enjoying the culture and visiting the local businesses, which are hoping for prosperity for the dragon and the most auspicious time of the lunar new year. all right, and now we are going to toss it out to darren with more on the nonsuper bowl forecast, right? >> we covered that, we got it into the tease. we do have a lot of things to talk about, so let's get to it. the possibility for patchy fog tomorrow morning, which is different than this morning. so if you're an early riser you had it pretty easy saturday morning. tomorrow morning, look at the reduced visibility here. this gets us into the 8:00 hour. some of the north bay valley, some of those inland east bay valleys as well so. if you're an early morning riser on sunday, plan on giving yourself a little extra time if you're north bay or inland east bay. you might hit patchy

fog tomorrow. no dense fog advisory, so that's good, but you never know. they may have to issue one of those at like 2:00 in the morning the way things might go, so. it's also going to be kind of cold tomorrow morning but not as cold as this morning was. we'll stay mainly low 40 s. a lot of upper 30s this morning. and daytime highs tomorrow will be a little bit cooler than today but not much. the weekend is fantastic. if you liked today, tomorrow's almost identical. maybe a few more high clouds, and that's about it. there is growing confidence in above average rain coming back as we get towards next week. so let's go to the forecast map, show you why there is even more so now growing confidence. both of the long range models are picking up on a fairly active storm track coming back to california starting saturday. but there's going to be a system that comes in before that. so from now through wednesday, nothing doing. you've got it made, clear out the gutters and enjoy the sunshine and temperatures around 60. by wednesday night we've got a little cutoff low. there's not a lot to this
11:17 pm
first one. sitting right off the coast. that one will come onshore. we'll get some rain out of it. and then back here there's one and then another one that will develop behind it. not going to play that one forward because it's too early to watch a system like that and go, oh, it's going to come here at this time and look like that when it does. instead, just the general takeaway, there's two storms getting developed out in the pacific, and the timeframe is from saturday into early next week when they should both come through. we'll get more specifics on timing, but they do look like they'll have a good amount of rain with them at this point, the way they're put together. if you look at the rainfall totals of this first system coming in on thursday and friday we could get 0.25 an inch of rain. when you look at the seven-day forecast and you see we've got rain on here every day starting thursday and going through saturday, those are a couple different systems. this is one system here, not all that impressive. this is another one coming in here focused primarily on saturday and that one is looking interesting. so

heads up, we'll keep you updated as we get closer too it. all right, matt, out to you. all right, thanks, darren. counting down the hours here in vegas. i was going to say days, no, we're hours away from super bowl lviii. but how about those golden state warriors? they gave us one heck of an appetizer tonight. steph curry saves the day once again. w two leading candidates for senate. two very different visions for california. steve garvey, the leading republican, is too conservative for california. he voted for trump twice and supported republicans for years, including far right conservatives. adam schiff, the leading democrat, defended democracy against trump and the insurrectionists. he helped build affordable housing, lower drug costs, and bring good jobs back home. the choice is clear.
