but i am sure it was traumatic. we have seen all kinds of videos from, you know, all parts of california about the impacts of all of the rain that we have had. so, a break might be in order. >> it is exactly what we need. exactly what we get for the next few days at least. there is another round of rain around the corner. we will talk about that in a moment. we will have dry weather returning on thursday. a storm system out of the pattivic that will wander around for the -- pacific that will wander around for a little bit. all we will see is cloud cover overhead through the next few afternoons the dry weather through the first half of the weekend. i think most of sunday is looking rain free at this point as well. later on tonight, we will see the clouds that are lingering over head, dropping down to ground level for locally dense fog, 40s and 50s across the board right now. those numbers will end up in the 40s everywhere to begin the day on thursday. the fog will be pretty prevalent as we begin thursday morning, it will not

take all that long for it to dissipate. it will not be as slow, the morning commute, dealing with the rain, by the time we get to late morning, lunchtime, for certain, the temperatures will warm up from the cool start in the lower to middle 40s. close to what is normal on late february. the temperatures will warm up on either side of what is average for this time of the year. a little on the positive side, on average, 66 to san jose. most inland temperatures will end up in the lower 60s. that will be the case in the tri-valley, the delta. temperatures in the 60s for fremont and redwood city, the coolest spots along the coast, half moon bay likely to fall short of 60 degrees, 59, it will feel like 60 degrees. just above 60 degrees in san francisco with high temperatures in the north bay. also reaching up into the lower 60s. similar temperatures on friday. and then we warm up a little bit on the first half of the weekend. it is the warmest

day we are going to see for awhile that is fantastic news for the chinese new year parade. downtown san francisco, the temperatures, people are gathering by late afternoon. still in the middle 60s and not cooling off all that rapidly even after the sun goes down. the weather will be very cooperative. not taking that for granted considering we have had so many wet weekends across the bay area so far in 2024. let's talk about the next rainmaker, side by side forecast models showing a lot of agreement on the brood picture perspective, a descent chance of rain heading our way by late sunday into sunday night and monday. the models do differ in terms of the exact arrival time and the intensity of the rainfall. but at worst, talking about light to moderate rain across the area. this will be more of a efficient snow maker in the sierra compared to anything else. they grow we should be largely drying out on tuesday. we have differences in how much lingering shower activity will be around us. getting back in a dry stretch

of weather. but, heading into early march it looks like more active pattern will be shaping up once again. let's enjoy the dry stretches of weather that are ahead. significant chance of wetter than normal conditions for leap day into the early days of march. that is the time frame the 8-14 day outlook covers, we will keep you posted on that as things come into better focus. looking at the forecast, good-looking weather for the next few days, mix of clouds and sunshine. dense fog in the morning. the bay area, handle some fog. but, moving in late on sunday morning, showers hold off, late afternoon, maybe until after sunset the wettest day, monday, light to moderate rain. less than an inch of rainfall even on the high end of range of possibilities. then, more, a couple more dry days in the forecast by tuesday and wednesday of next week. slightly below average temperatures to finish off the month of february. again, we can handle that >> we can. paul, look, i know

lymph, there is breaking news you don't see every day. these are live images right now of a police chase down in southern california except the cops are chasing a big rig. it started in the san fernando valley.

this big rig was stolen in bakersfield while the driver was gassing it up. officers track today to the 14 freeway. it is now on the 134 freeway right about where highland park transitions into pasadena. heading towards the valley in any case we have seen a lot of police pursuits out of southern california not too many where chp and police officers are following a big rig. this guy has been going for quite awhile all over southern california and he continues on or she, continues on into the pasadena exits on the 134 going into the san fernando valley. interesting breaking nows down in southern california tonight. a guy who tried to get off of a plane while it was in the air ended his flight, duct taped to the floor. other passengers pinned him down after he tried to open the emergency exit on an american flight to chicago yesterday. it ended up back where it started
