parts of the city of san francisco became a landing pad for marine one when president biden flew in to make a withdrawal from the bay area campaign cash machine. tonight he is in between fundraisers, a live look at the hotel right now. he had two in san francisco today with another tomorrow. the hill wants tickets cost as much as $100,000. it seems like wherever the president is in town protesters are close by as close by as the police will allow. in this case, they were in pacific heights with kelsi thourd is tonight. >> free, free palestine. >> reporter: hundreds of pro-palestine supporters rallied at a park not far from the president's scheduled event calling on him to support a ceasefire in gaza and end military aid to israel. >> i think he should be stronger and sand up to benjamin netanyahu who is basically turning around and saying we are not going to do anything you say, president

biden, we don't want a two state solution so he is laughing all of the way to the bank. i want biden to look strong and not weak. >> we are the most powerful country in so many facets, he has the power to influence like the international community and help out, if he wanted to, he could. >> reporter: many of these protesters told me they continue to feel like their government and president biden specifically are ignoring what they see as a humanitarian crisis. >> you have a right to protect yourself but destroying the housing of 1 1/2 million people? that is so unnecessary to protect yourself. it is genocide. >> stop arming israel. >> reporter: they hope that president biden understands

when it comes to his re-election, his response to the war will play a big role in who chooses to support him. >> i think that he needs to continually be experiencing the pressure that majority of americans are not down with how he is treating this. that we are not going to shut up, not going to be quiet until something is done about it. >> reporter: the protesters did march down the road here towards where the president's campaign event was. they were diverted and then stopped by the police, still, a few blocks away from that event. we are hearing the president made it pretty colorful comment at his first fundraiser calling his russian counterpart a crazy sob. he took that shot of putin while talking threats to humanity. two minutes does not seem like a lot of time. in walnut creek it seemed to go on forever when a guy got up to speak at a city council meeting. he spent his two minutes spewing hatred so vial

awful comments we just listened to. i would like to apologize on behalf of the city council and anybody that had to hear that horrible, horrible speech. i apologize on behalf of, behalf of humanity. >> what was happening in your mind at that point? >> i knew i was going to respond not just as somebody who is jewish but a member of humanity and humankind that we need to speak out. it is outrageous. what they want to do is normalize it and make people numb to this speech and have it become just another tuesday council meeting. >> it was more than disturbing. it was just awful. >> reporter: the deputy regional director of the antidefamation league, his response last night was critical. >> it was rhetoric that can and might insight violence in the real world. it must be called out. it must be condemned.

>> reporter: something wilks says he plans to do if it happens again. >> i am not going to cower for this. i will stand up for everyone one of my voice there is 1,000 people out there that are feeling like they don't have a voice. >> walnut creek police told us the guy that made those hateful comments is already on the fbi's radar. meantime, they say officers were at last night's meeting and will be indefinitely. >> it is the third time this week that some kind of scare has forced a plane out of the air. what this guy did that got him tackled in the aisle. the bad weather down south creates a 1200 pound problem for l.a. firefighters. we still had lingering showers across the pay area today. you can see it streaming through the golden gate. we look at the time lapse this afternoon. but, by late afternoon the showers are further and farther in between and now they stopped. how long can we keep the dry weather going? the answer coming up. >> all right, paul, thanks.

. so, i don't know if the people who own this house in ventura county got really, really lucky or really, really unlucky. it depends how stable the rest of the hillside is after a big slide took out everything around them. it also shutdown a highway near santa pala. an hour away from that, in malibu, pch is not looking all that scenic at the moment. a different slide left it covered with rocks and mud and it is not just drivers who got stuck, this 1200 pound horse was nearly in over its head when it sank in the muddy ground in l.a. county. firefighters had to lift it out with an excovator, paul? >> the horse seems to be handling it well? >> i know, i hope that. you

know, they were okay eventually but i am sure it was traumatic. we have seen all kinds of videos from, you know, all parts of california about the impacts of all of the rain that we have had. so, a break might be in order. >> it is exactly what we need. exactly what we get for the next few days at least. there is another round of rain around the corner. we will talk about that in a moment. we will have dry weather returning on thursday. a storm system out of the pattivic that will wander around for the -- pacific that will wander around for a little bit. all we will see is cloud cover overhead through the next few afternoons the dry weather through the first half of the weekend. i think most of sunday is looking rain free at this point as well. later on tonight, we will see the clouds that are lingering over head, dropping down to ground level for locally dense fog, 40s and 50s across the board right now. those numbers will end up in the 40s everywhere to begin the day on thursday. the fog will

be pretty prevalent as we begin thursday morning, it will not take all that long for it to dissipate. it will not be as slow, the morning commute, dealing with the rain, by the time we get to late morning, lunchtime, for certain, the temperatures will warm up from the cool start in the lower to middle 40s. close to what is normal on late february. the temperatures will warm up on either side of what is average for this time of the year. a little on the positive side, on average, 66 to san jose. most inland temperatures will end up in the lower 60s. that will be the case in the tri-valley, the delta. temperatures in the 60s for fremont and redwood city, the coolest spots along the coast, half moon bay likely to fall short of 60 degrees, 59, it will feel like 60 degrees. just above 60 degrees in san francisco with high temperatures in the north bay. also reaching up into the lower 60s. similar temperatures on friday. and then we warm up a

little bit on the first half of the weekend. it is the warmest day we are going to see for awhile that is fantastic news for the chinese new year parade. downtown san francisco, the temperatures, people are gathering by late afternoon. still in the middle 60s and not cooling off all that rapidly even after the sun goes down. the weather will be very cooperative. not taking that for granted considering we have had so many wet weekends across the bay area so far in 2024. let's talk about the next rainmaker, side by side forecast models showing a lot of agreement on the brood picture perspective, a descent chance of rain heading our way by late sunday into sunday night and monday. the models do differ in terms of the exact arrival time and the intensity of the rainfall. but at worst, talking about light to moderate rain across the area. this will be more of a efficient snow maker in the sierra compared to anything else. they grow we should be largely drying out on tuesday. we have differences in how much lingering shower activity will be around us.

getting back in a dry stretch of weather. but, heading into early march it looks like more active pattern will be shaping up once again. let's enjoy the dry stretches of weather that are ahead. significant chance of wetter than normal conditions for leap day into the early days of march. that is the time frame the 8-14 day outlook covers, we will keep you posted on that as things come into better focus. looking at the forecast, good-looking weather for the next few days, mix of clouds and sunshine. dense fog in the morning. the bay area, handle some fog. but, moving in late on sunday morning, showers hold off, late afternoon, maybe until after sunset the wettest day, monday, light to moderate rain. less than an inch of rainfall even on the high end of range of possibilities. then, more, a couple more dry days in the forecast by tuesday and wednesday of next week. slightly below average temperatures to finish off the month of february. again, we

can handle that >> we can. paul, look, i know you are an animal lover. have you run into alex the great around town? >> at giants games. i have seen in at oracle park. >> he is a giant bunny. he is hard to miss. >> a rabbit with a special wardrobe. when he is not traveling in his, are we calling it a stroller? not quite a stroller. >> it is an all-terrain vehicle. >> and drives in his custom humvee and makes people like paul smile. his life was almost very different and his life was almost over very quickly. >> reporter: he is handsome fluffy and one of a kind. rare to find a bunny this out going. he adopted alex the great three years ago. >> we rescued him from a meat farm in modesto. >> reporter: he weighs 30 pounds and enjoys cruising around town in his minicar. he

loves meeting people and gets love everywhere he goes. >> he is very dog-like. i think he thinks he is part human, too. he has to be in the middle of everything. but, yeah, he is a good boy. >> reporter: life for alex the great goes beyond making friends and having fun. he does photo shoots to donate money to charity. he also is a certified therapy animal and volunteers as part of the wag brigade at bay area airports and visits patients in hospice care. >> it is a gratification for people enjoying him, right? enjoy seeing him and not just seeing a rabbit but a rabbit who truly is enjoying this, you know. it is rewarding in its own way. >> reporter: alex the great and his dad, josh, put in a lot of work to be able to volunteer. he had to pass the same temperment test as his pup friends >> he has to be trained just like a dog. meet all of the

same qualifications, he has to be able to be command trained. he understands commands not like verbal. he does more hand signals. >> reporter: now, he has fans around the world with more than 25,000 followers on instagram. dad is there to take good care of him every step of the way as he comforts everyone he meets. >> this one knows i know what he is thinking. he is not too worried about any situation. he will never leave my side. >> reporter: alex the great will be back at oracle park this season to watch the giants play ball, win or lose he will be happy to get a head rub from new and old friends. >> i am a fan of that bunny. we got selfie shots with him in november. straight ahead, a buzzer beater you have got to see. it is not even march madness yet. okay. break time is over for warriors basketball. how many wins will it take to

lymph, there is breaking news you don't see every day. these are live images right now of a police chase down in southern california except the cops are chasing a big rig. it started in the san fernando valley. this big rig was stolen in

bakersfield while the driver was gassing it up. officers track today to the 14 freeway. it is now on the 134 freeway right about where highland park transitions into pasadena. heading towards the valley in any case we have seen a lot of police pursuits out of southern california not too many where chp and police officers are following a big rig. this guy has been going for quite awhile all over southern california and he continues on or she, continues on into the pasadena exits on the 134 going into the san fernando valley. interesting breaking nows down in southern california tonight. a guy who tried to get off of a plane while it was in the air ended his flight, duct taped to the floor. other passengers pinned him down after he tried to open the emergency exit on an american flight to chicago yesterday. it ended up back where it started in albuquerque where the police

were waiting to arrest the passenger . these peacocks have been around one east bay neighborhood for so long they actually have nicknames, now, a plan to remove them is ruffling some feathers

. all right, it is a bay area twist on the old chicken and egg question. >> okay. >> who came first, the peacocks or the people? it is an argument that has been going on in fairfield for years, pitting neighbor against neighbor. the city just kicked it up a notch. >> you have to get to know their personalities. i can tell them apart. >> reporter: in fairfield rolling hills neighborhood, everybody has a story. >> i call one hobo. his feathers are always askew. i call him hobo harry. >> there is one i raised from an egg. he was abandoned. >> you will see them on the street, on the fence, passing by. peacocks. dozens of them >> there is no worse than a dog. the dozens of wild birds rooming freely should be left alone. they will tell you the
