area's busiest airport. the coordinated effort at sfo demanding a cease-fire in gaza. new calls for a cease-fire are coming from east bay classrooms. at 9:00, the backlash is being felt across the oakland unified school district. an unusual meeting taking place in santa clara. the valley water board of directors will meet this morning to consider whether or not to censor one of their board members. you are looking into director rebecca eisenberg. recently she was investigated for multiple allegations including dissemination , harassment, and the mishandling of confidential information. the board of directors will consider how to move forward at today's meeting. the california supreme court is waiting into the battle over the future of uc

to high category for the pollen count. dozens of protesters who were arrested for bringing bay bridge traffic to a standstill for hours in november are expected back in court today. nearly 80 protesters were involved in the trial. the november demonstration happened is president joe biden and other world leaders were in san francisco for the apec summit. hundreds of demonstrators took over the bridge that day. demanding a cease-fire in gaza. this was the scene outside of sfo as pro-palestinian protesters showed up in force yesterday. this was yesterday morning and a group of more than 100 people blocked multiple roadways and security gates for several hours at the international terminal. one group rallied outside the terminal. they held signs and chanted, demanding a cease-fire in gaza. the even blocked off the road in front of the terminal. they were able to do

that thanks to these cars that were parked on the ramp leading to the terminal international area and the cars blocked all the lanes. police eventually showed up, close the ramp and towed away the vehicles. an even bigger group inside the terminal protesters locking arms and holding up cease-fire sons in front of the security checkpoint. the demonstrators say their goal was to remind people about what is happening in gaza. >> we want people to know that although we don't want to negatively impact our community, it cannot be business as usual. we are invoking the time-honored american tradition of civil disobedience to bring light to the injustice that this needs to stop. >> no flights were impacted. international travelers were diverted to other drop-off and

pickup areas. police do not make any arrests. secretary antony blinken said the u.s. is in near constant cease-fire talks with negotiators in the middle east. the israeli military says it is preparing is offensive in southern gaza ahead of the operation, the military says it is ramping up efforts to direct palestinians to a safe humanitarian zone in the middle of the territory. live to open with the demand for the biden administration to call for a permanent cease-fire in gaza is growing. the oakland teachers union has called on its national union affiliate to rescind its endorsement of the president until that happens. oea has been an outspoken supporter of gaza since the war began and you may remember some of its members recently held an unauthorized stage in. lauren toms shows us the backlash is being felt across the district. five months after teachers within the oakland unified school district conducted a teach in demonstration favoring the palestinian perspective as a war between israel and hamas rages on, one teacher who participated said students deserve to know the details surrounding the deadly an historic conflict.

>> schools are supposed to be places of open-mindedness and places where students are challenged to graduate , eventually with broaden perspectives . and new ideas. >> reporter: for the first time since a controversial demonstration, what participating teachers spoke to cbsn bay area on the condition of anonymity and asked to be identified as a high school teacher within the district . we met in her classroom where she said she observed students engaging in the proposed material, written by a group of teachers within their union, named oea for palestine. the suggested curriculum was not approved by the district. >> it is more for student to consider multiple perspectives and walk out with more questions. an essence i absolutely think the teach in encourage that. >> reporter: cbs news obtained and reviewed the curriculum and found some content the jewish community leaders and parents consider to be anti-semitic or offensive to jewish students. but this teacher said she did

not see any anti-semitism take place the day of the 'teach-in'. >> i did not see any evidence of a teacher or a student engaging in any anti-semitic comment or behavior. we might have a difference of opinion on what is anti-semitic , and i think that criticism of israel is not anti-semitic. win the 'teach-in' is believed by members of the district to be one event that triggered the department of education to launch federal investigations of both the oakland and san francisco school districts into alleged civil rights violations. father gregory is the leader of the jewish community relations council and he says parents have reported similar activity of and friction material regarding the ongoing conflict being taught in san francisco schools. >> teachers union in san francisco has said openly anti-israel things that make a lot of jewish students feel unsafe. we have seen the gaza

walkouts that are in support of the palestinians. but have resulted in jewish students feeling unsafe . there have been a couple of incidents where teachers have participated or encouraged it. >> reporter: so far, at least 30 jewish students transferred out of the oakland school district. gregory says a handful of jewish students are planning to leave the san francisco district. this is the parent of a middle schooler in ousd and said it was bittersweet when she found out in early march that her son was approved for transfer into the piedmont school district, after experiencing anti-semitism in the classroom. >> it is heartbreaking and the fact that in 2024 i don't feel like my son is safe. >> reporter: for this teacher she's feels justified in her participation and furthering the knowledge and education of her students. something she maintains is her job and her right . >> if transferring out was because of an allegation of anti-semitism , learning about palestine or learning about what is happening currently in palestine , or learning about

throughout the next couple days we are in the medium to i category and with the winds whipping up the pollen in the air you want to take it slow. we head into the weekend and the winds start to die down and we are dealing with beautiful weather. saturday and sunday. perfect timing for the st. patrick's day parade and perfect timing if you want to head over to solano in time for wings over solano on sunday or saturday . we expect 70s both days with plenty of sunshine in the bay area. it is similar to today because we notice a warm up day by day. this weekend we hit the upper 60s and lower 70s throughout the peninsula and hit the 70s throughout our inland areas and it will be gorgeous but today we will be feeling the warmth in communities from san jose where we are so close to the 70s. luckily i can forecasted because throughout the day seven days we hold on tight to the 70s, the only difference of the forecast is we are seeing clouds rolled in sunday afternoon and that will be the trend early next week but dry conditions will last throughout the next seven days. it is nerve-racking for many homeowners across america. the potential
