joined at the ceremony by vice president kamala harrison defense secretary lloyd austin. the president then gave his annual memorial day address and earlier too. today. the president hosted a breakfast with administration officials, military leadership veterans and gold star family members back here in the bay area. memorial day observances are now underway a parade was held in mill valley. look at that 60 organizations marched through the downtown area. you see a big crowd enjoying that year or during this year, the this year's theme is strengthened numbers, which represents how tight knit community is looks like a lot of fun. and just before the parade, the city held the annual volunteer firefighters pancake breakfast, the memorial day tradition helps raise money for the mill valley volunteer firefighters association. in alameda, the uss hornet held a memorial day commemoration, families and veterans gathered to remember their friends and loved ones. he served and memorial day service and tributes started over the weekend in san francisco. heroes of the battle
