media and universe in a completely different political universe probably became 1968. this is much like 1964 for republicans . and 1860 for the nation. this particular election. so that is really a big deal. did he come out so late? sure. have democrats had their hair on fire since that awful debate? yes . but they have also been in disarray and disunity while the republicans have been energized and on a mission the juxtaposition on does change with this announcement. no question about that. democratic national committee, the dnc, the rules committee will begin after 48 hours, probably on wednesday. they will set forth what happens to joe biden delegates so that means kamala harris has 48 hours. after that, as can get a little bit swirly so we have to pay attention to that. but she is clear the fact oh nominee she is clearly the person who is first right of refusal. everyone else also gives democrats focus. so the race is now joint. the problem

away. that is not a surprise in some ways. but what does she do when she is the person on the ticket, if she is the nominee, and what is her vice presidential candidate look like? and how do democrats do down ballot? these are open questions that will dominate the convention because democrats don't want a repeat of chicago in 1968 and they often have these group therapy sessions before the nation. you don't want to have that happen in this particular political environment. >> long behind. but it is eerie. and in 1968, a convention for the ages and not in a good way. professor david mcewen, i appreciate it, david, thank you so much. >> nice to see you. thank you. independent presidential candidate robert f kennedy jr. praise president joe biden for his decision to drop out of the presidential race. >> his handling of the many difficulties and challenges , personal challenges and tragedies that he suffered during his life with so much admirable conduct.
