the bay, taylor swift's eras tour is sure to draw a packed crowd of tens of thousands of fan, all of them willing to wait hours and hours to see her perform. well, the tour is back in the news but for a very different reason. three of her shows were cancelled in vienna, austria, after government officials today say they foiled an isis-linked terror plot to attack large events. now, two people have been arrested, including a 19-year-old austrian citizen. chris livesay has the latest on a raid and what we know about the suspects. >> reporter: it's one of the biggest tours in history. tonight made even more memorable for the wrong reasons. a terrorist plot thwarted by police to attack taylor swift's concerts later this week in austria. police say two suspects who radicalized themselves on the internet are now in custody. one of them swore allegiance to isis, then carried out concrete preparatory acts for a terrorist attack. the bomb squad was called after police
11:13 pm
say they found the suspects in possession of chemical substances, a catastrophe averted. but all three concerts have been canceled as a precaution. ruling out a repeat of the 2017 attack in manchester, england, when a suicide bomber killed 22 people during an ariana grande concert. tonight in austria, that's an estimated 65,000 fans per day and another 15,000 to 20,000 who were expected to gather outside the stadium now forced to stay home from a tour that's been called a cultural phenomenon. >> swift's website was updated late last night promising refunds for fans within ten days. on the fire watch, one of the largest wildfires in state history is exploding again after firefighters made gains boosting containment lines. now, the park fire, which has torched over 420,000 acres, grew by as much as 20 square

miles earlier this week. the fire's burning across four counties, mostly butte and tehama, the fourth largest in state history. containment is holding at 34%, but crews warn that hot and dry conditions could actually keep it burning for months. and tonight firefighters are battling a new wildfire in el dorado county that's ballooned to almost 600 acres and sparking this morning outside of placerville. it's only 5% contained at this point. it's triggering some evacuations. fire crews say that they are worried about the heat over the next couple of days while the flames eat through some thick brush. that's a lot of wildfires, but the smoke hasn't been coming our way. it's been going east. >> it's the time of year we have to watch every fire locally. we're going to be watching that over the next couple of months, unfortunately. let's talk about air quality across all of

california. i'm going to make room for our map to come on to the floor. the high and wide view of the smoke that is coming off of the park fire and then also the fire burning farther to the south. the onshore breeze is going to help to bring comfortable and below average temperatures to the bay area. it is going to continue to direct wildfire smoke away from the bay area. so really from the park fire it's been blowing mainly into northern nevada up into southern idaho and montana and it does look like that is going to remain the case over the next several days. let's take a look at what we need to worry about or not worry about really as we head through the rest of this week and into the weekend. a pretty calm weather pattern is going to be shaping up. the fog swallowing up downtown san francisco. it's not as warm on thursday. temperatures stepwise going back down to near average inland and normal around the bay and along the coast. same pattern repeating itself. the fog making a push inland and then retreating to the coast by midday. a couple of days of

below average temperatures sunday and monday. that is the view from the mark hopkins hotel. temperature down to 55 degrees already. it's not the cool spot. 54 degrees already in santa rosa while east of the oakland hills you're still holding on to a little bit of that work from earlier today. you are around # 0 degrees in concord and livermore. the fog is going to continue to make that push across the bay. let's switch over to our map on the floor of the bay area and simulate where the fog is going to go as we head through the rest of tonight. making that push through the golden gate and into some of the inland valleys, this particular forecast model doesn't show it making a whole lot of progress over the oakland hills yet tonight. that is going to be more and more the case as we head through the next several nights, which means the fog is going to be widespread across the bay area. that will have an impact on how the temperatures warm up from what's a normal start. we'll start in the north bay where temperatures are going to be at the coolest across the bay area, especially along the coast, above 50 for bodega bay. low 50s for santa rosa and petaluma. east of the oakland hills in the mid to low

60s. not bad after the temperatures in the 90s today. free air conditioning overnight. temperatures in the santa clara valley also mostly in the low 60s to begin the day tomorrow. morgan hill where lows are going to be in the upper 50s. you'll make up for it, highs in the mid-90s tomorrow. a mix of 80s and 90s across the bay area for inland temperatures. inland in the east bay, you'll be the hot spots. low to mid-90s. a mix of 60s and 70s for san francisco and oakland. temperatures down the peninsula in the low 80s. the north bay only upper 70s for napa and vallejo. as temperatures return to near normal, you may be kind of welcoming that news with almost glee. and there are signs in the long range data as we zoom out wide once again. that kind of weather pattern is sticking around. this is the 8 to 14-day outlook from the climate prediction center. for much of california and even farther north into oregon and

washington, a strong signal towards cooler than normal temperatures. this takes us through august 21st. so it's not just the seven-day forecast. i'll show you that with the seven-day outlook right now. we'll start inland. the coolest days are sunday and monday when, on average, inland temperatures will be in the middle portion of the 80s. but that means it's a mix. a few spots in the upper 80s, but all that not bad at all for august. temperatures around the bay, they change very little. mostly staying in the lower half of the 70s with that morning fog giving way to afternoon sunshine. along the ecoast, we'll fill up our weather tubes with that fog that's hanging out. sunshine along the coast today, that's not going to be the case over the course of the next several days. be happy with glimmers of sunshine and patches of drizzle, mist, the usual thing for coastal parts of the bay area. >> sounds like the weekend's going to be cooler. ly take that every time? especially in mid-august, yeah. >> you know who also likes a

follow it up? it was the first time that he had ever gone nine innings, and the nats were, well a pretty easy follow-up test. snell trying to get out of the third, one of his lone mistakes of the night. a run to juan to give the nats an early lead. but the rest of the way it was more like the snell we've seen of late. struck out eight washington batters, gave up just four hits over six innings. but could the bats back him up has been the question all season long. fifth inning, the giants best power hitter stepped up to the plate. elliot ramos, second game back from a thumb injury. after hitting one out last night, follows it up with his 17th of the year. and then matt chapman hits another one into the same spot in left center. ramos liked what he saw from the dugout. so it was then up to camilo duval in the ninth, and bob melvin was not happy to see the bases loaded. go-ahead run out the plate, but duval gets out of the jam. ground ball 6,
