another day at work. brock purdy and company going full speed after a li ht walk-through on wednesday. head coach kyle shanahan us as purdy is executing at a high level. even going as far as saying he had a heck of a week a day after practicing without pads and helmets. the chiefs are back to hitting and the words we kept hearing their tempo tempo temp out. things did get a little feisty at practice camp for kc. the chiefs are viewing that aggression as a hunger to win a 4th super bowl title. >> i'm not gonna lie. things got a little chippy. i'm not going to say between who but offense and defensive lines are sardar trying to get their work in the trying to make sure everybody is ready for the game. i mean, it just got me fired up yesterday. you can see in seeing everybody locked in and wanting to get their work in, you know, making sure that everybody is ready for the for the task at hand. while the good job of coaching us up and >> and, you know, giving us the in terms of when we get the right look. so it's just being ready for those moments.

maybe could be longer of the niners win because they plan to have a great weekend in las vegas. some of them, yes, they are going to las vegas but not getting super bowl tickets because they cannot afford any. so they're going to watch the game at the casinos and others. check this out. i caught a couple. they were going to the super bowl but they didn't know where they were staying in literally at the airport. their plans all came together. just got the rooms on the way the it's amazing that and we're staying at the delano right next to the stadium. so we got really lucky. >> and the prices came way down. so we just waited to the last minute for everything. we've got the tickets. 2 days ago. we did get the flights like a week ago. >> it was his dream to go to a super bowl because it originally as families from the midwest, his dad was a chiefs fan. he's a niners fan. so he's actually going in spirit of his late father and then his wife going a lifelong

some arteries closed off, right? they want to make sure that people have fun, but also save kron four's traffic or order. an rv has more on that. >> well, and james caltrans and chp, they're all working with san francisco police to freeway off-ramps in the city on super bowl sunday as they're concerned about public safety. of course, they say they're expecting a lot more people, more traffic out on the streets to be careful. take a look at your screens. so closures are going to start at 7 sunday night until midnight 1, 1, north and southbound. they're going to close right of that. cesar chavez street off-ramp and in the mission street and dubois street off-ramp as well. that's on 2.80, northbound san jose avenue off ramp will be closed as well. and the geneva avenue off-ramp. maybe close in both the northbound and southbound directions. meantime, sfpd says there's going to be some street closures in the mission district and some muni buses are going to also be reroute it. plus, apd is also asking the public to not drive while you're intoxicated. remember,

of our morning all right, ed 0, 9 is the time now. let's talk about another big story this morning. look at that. and from florida apparently stole a plane and had to make an emergency landing on that beach. out half moon bay had kron found out that that plane was stolen from palo alto. >> kron 4 sarah stinson has more. >> the san mateo county sheriff's office says luis, gustavo eris stole a plane from the palo alto airport and landed nose down in the sand just south of here and half moon bay. several people were enjoying the sunset at poplar beech and saw the plane go down. fully. no one was hurt. on thursday night around 5, the mateo county sheriff's office got a call. they don't get every day a stolen plane landed just south of poplar peach and half moon bay. i've been doing 20 years. and this is a first for me, sergeant javier acosta says when deputies arrived, they found a single engine plane nose down in the sand. deputies quickly

learned the plane was stolen from the palo alto airport. acosta says several people witnessed the landing. someone saw the person walking away from their plane. >> provide us a detailed desc-iption and we found that person within minutes. a 50 year-old man from miami-dade county, florida was arrested on the beach shortly after sergeant acosta says investigators are still working to learn more about him at this time. i do not know if this person is a pilot or or who this person >> managed to still airplane and landed on the have and the beach and walk away from >> harris has been booked into the san mateo county jail. the lead investigator being palo alto police. but this did happen on a state-run beach, popular beach. so they're still trying to figure out how to recover the plane and get it off the beach and back to where it belongs. >> i'm sara stinson reporting in half moon bay kron. 4 news. >> all right. 10 11 is the time. and still ahead on the kron, 4 morning news

out their child was safe and in school. so the berkeley district wants you to know about this and not fall victim to it. take a look at what they say you should do. first of all, stay calm is somebody gives you this call. don't give away any personal information. hang up immediately. make sure your child is okay and then tell the police what happened. leeson oakland are looking for a car involved in a deadly shooting last month. and we have pictures of the car. the police are just out with this. it's a four-door black lexus gs. 3.50, has damage. look at that. in the front driver's side. fender, the shooting happened on january 13th near 90th avenue and a street. the victim's name has not been released. >> well, with the super bowl just days away, people are placing bets on more than just 2 wins the game. they're placing bets on everything from what the first song is going to be at halftime to will taylor swift the propose to even the color of the gatorade, which perennial favorite prop bat. now,

according to a survey by the american gaming association, a record-breaking 67.8 million adult americans are expected to bet on this year's big game in one way or another. that comes to about one in every 4 americans. and that is up. 35% from last year. association expects 23 billion dollars to be better this year and with more states legalizing sports betting across the nation, more americans than ever are gambling some for the first time. a spokesperson with gambling site fanduel tells us that during last year's super bowl, they set a record of 45,000 bets per minute and they expect to see 60,000 bets per minute. this sunday. >> look at i think that more and more people wager on the super bowl in some capacity, right, whether that's people actually putting money down the game at sportsbooks or begging for super bowl squares. and we're just doing some fund. that's what their friends at parties. everyone has something some reason probably that they're watching the super bowl, whether it's the commercials, the actual game for the halftime.

>> 10 25 is the time and san francisco's district attorney is warning residents of what's being called blessings scams. their typical around the lunar new year. officials say scammers will offer to perform purification or blessing ceremonies on people's cash or valuable items. but during the whole process of doing that, they end up stealing those valuables. investigators say they've received 2 reports now of 2 women and a man doing this scam. they say most of the thieves are targeting seniors. >> and for your money, inflation could put a dent in your valentine's day celebration. a new from wallet hub shows 24% of americans don't expect their significant other to spend any money on valentine's day guests, about 30% think that their partner will spend between one dollar.

you're still hanging on to 48 while doubling at 46. so you definitely still need those jackets. make it a niners jacket. today. we will be seeing temperatures this weekend getting warmer and warmer actually. so today's the coolest day of the weekend with highs in the mid 50's. back to you. >> all right. thanks a lot. and let's get back to another story that we've been following here on the kron 4 morning news, which is what the governor and attorney general are doing to try to cut down on crime in alameda county and they're assisting prosecutors and district attorneys by sending in more attorneys kron four's theresa stasi. takes a look. >> facing an escalating crime wave in the east bay on thursday. governor gavin newsom along with attorney general rob bonta, an alameda county da pamela price announcing the formation of a new partnership. the partnership will bring state attorneys from both the ags office and national guard to boost law enforcement capacity specifically in oakland and the east bay called keeping california safe. the partnership will be focused on

helping county prosecutors go after suspects involved in violent crimes, serious drug-related crimes and property crimes, including retail theft, an auto burglary, a great >> demonstration of collaborative leadership where no one is trying to go at it alone. we all know that we need each other to help. and to deliver the outcomes that are necessary and in that spirit of cooperation and collaboration and partnership. we're working together and i believe we're going to be successful. da pamela price said, quote, i welcome the support from the governor. >> in this fight against organized retail crime and the scourge of fentanyl in our community. >> to have state prosecutors, attorneys. come in and investigate perhaps trying cases there could be a very high upside. >> jonathan able is a criminal law professor at uc law sf. he applauds the collaboration and believes it could be beneficial for the community.

attorneys. they just don't have the experience to do legal scholar jonathan able says time will tell whether this will >> make a difference in alameda county. as far as a timetable about when these attorneys will be joining the alameda county district attorney's office ag bonta says that the boots on the ground are going to be coming very soon. exactly. when is unclear. but he said that it will be sooner rather than later in the newsroom. theresa is stasio kron. 4 news. >> it's 33 and to east bay rape and murder cold cases from the 1970's have been solved. the crimes were committed in newark and hayward and then of all, 48 year-old hayward resident theresa pico and 60 year-old newark resident, nelly hicks. their cases remain cold until late last year when the fbi connected the crimes. 2 a killer using dna. and that lead to fred bernard farnham,

the man responsible for both of those crimes. barnum who was from oregon. >> died in a hospital in 2007 at the age of 73. and criminal records show. he was a convicted of a series of assaults in the bay area. >> investigators believe that he may have been connected to even more rapes and murders in nevada, north dakota, idaho, oregon and alaska. >> will 2 bay area mayors right now are endorsing a state ballot measure to increase criminal penalties for drug dealing. san francisco mayor london breed and san jose mayor matt mahan want to reform propped 47 which among other things reduced punishments for drug possession, as well as the theft of items worth less than $950. that's why we've seen a spike in retail theft crimes. the homelessness, drug addiction and theft reduction act is what they're calling it. and they're pushing for basically theft with 2 or more prior convictions to be jail elavil eligible and classified as a felony. it would also

increase penalties for the sale and possession of fentanyl. however, people would be given the option of avoiding jail time if they entered a treatment program. help themselves to qualify for the november ballot. the law needs more than 540,000 signatures. and so far they've collected 360,000. >> it's 10. 35 and in the north bay woman is accused of stealing a chp patrol car. she was in san francisco court for the first time to face the offenses and the prosecutors say says cars been linked to a vallejo home invasion. the invasion happened earlier this month in this neighborhood. and police haven't made an arrest in that. but from that investigation, they got surveillance footage from neighbors and it shows you can see people going to cars and vehicles after that home invasion. prosecutors say that san francisco police solve an essay guerrero exiting a stolen vehicle at that home invasion she can sear in court pleaded not guilty and the

people in that neighborhood or left very nervous. >> i'm scared, you know, for my safety at times because i do have a one year-old daughter, but i have taken precautions and getting security for our house and because of the concern her bail guerrero is bills $5,000. but the judge says even as she bails out, she will have to home monitoring device. >> in the north bay, a man has been arrested now for allegedly burglarizing 2 businesses in the votto. police say they've arrested. 42 year-old paul amey junior from hercules. they say that he used a crowbar to break into fbi burgers and maureen fitness at the square shopping center last week. he was arrested after police spotted him driving a stolen car. and this is where police recovered from that stolen car cash and property belonging to those 2 businesses be junior has been booked now into marin county jail. the city of petaluma, by the way, making changes to improve. actually. we'll get
