>> now up to wet weather returns to the bay area as we take a live look now at stormtracker 4 radar. we're seeing quite a bit of rain already starting to fall across parts of the bay. we're going to check. we're going to get check of the latest conditions from our pilot program. and we continue to follow breaking news out of

missouri where a championship celebration quickly turned to chaos and panic as shots were fired at the chiefs super bowl parade in kansas city. an east bay leaders and law enforcement announced a regional public safety partnership. station. >> he's calling for news 2. >> thanks so much for joining us here on kron. 4 news at 2. i'm stephanie lin. rain is moving into the bay area today. it's already falling in parts of the bay. this is a live look outside at the golden gate bridge where you can see things are already getting quite damp out there. kron 4 meteorologist kyla grogan is here with our forecast. hey kyla. hey there. yes, we definitely have the slick roads to look out for. if you have to be out this afternoon, just be ready for a lite look here at the golden gate bridge. >> obviously, it's light rain that's coming down for the most part. but that does make for dangerous conditions doesn't take too much to get the roads a little tricky. you can see as we kind of zoom in here where some of the main action is right now, san

francisco and marin county getting some of those light showers. this move a little farther to the south. you see some of those yellows and oranges popping up the spots like burlingame and heading across the bay over to the east bay as well. so if you are going along, you know, at the over here or if you're going to 5.80, certainly could be hitting some of these pockets of heavier showers. we see the oranges. >> and the yellows now all told it is relatively light. it is relatively scattered. this is, of course, just the beginning of a lot of rain. we're going to get over the next few days. but again, you can see some of it now stretching down into the south bay just a little bit. but that will be moving your way as we get later into the afternoon and the evening live look out at sfo. you can see the runways are a little wet, unfortunately, causing a few delays there. temp ratures right now mostly in the 50's could see san jose flirting with 60 degrees but haven't quite made it there yet. i mentioned a few delays. these are for departing flights and sfo right now. having a 28 minute delay looking good at the rest of our local airports. but the wind is starting to pick up right now. it's very southerly flow. and you see it there at half. moon

bay, san francisco out at point rays and now oakland up to 21 miles per hour. so we're getting a little gusty. let's track this forward and to show you as we get through the afternoon, they are scattered in variable, but the showers will stay with us until we get into the overnight hours. that's when we'll start to get a little bit of a pullback and we should see things get better looking out for about a quarter of an inch to half an inch of rain for the system. we've got a few more on the way as we head towards the weekend. i'll have details on that when come back in a bit. back to you. all right, kelly, thank you. today, east bay officials and law enforcement agencies announced the launch of a regional public safety partnership to address rising crime. >> kron four's charles clifford has the latest from oakland. >> well, crime is certainly a concern for residents all across the east bay. and today we're learning there's a new effort to improve communication between cities and government agencies to try to deal with the problem. well, good morning. wednesday morning city and police officials from berkeley oakland in san leandro along with alameda county announced a new effort to address crime. the plan is to bring together law enforcement governments from all along the east bay corridor from richmond to

fremont to share best practices, data and technology in order to confront problems such as violent crime and retail theft. so we think that the process of convening in coming together and talking. >> identifying ways for us to work together. it's a great benefit try different jurisdictions with criminal organizations becoming more sophisticated. officials say the need for communication between communities is greater than ever. when we work regionally. >> when we share data, we share resources. able to work more efficiently. we're able to share more rapidly were able to deploy resources in a smarter manner. we're able to have a better effect on responding to crime. the first meeting of this new collaboration was held in late january and they plan to meet again on a quarterly basis. but for now in the east bay, charles clifford kron, 4 news. >> thank you, charles. and we have new details now from governor gavin newsom's efforts to crack down on crime in the east bay. the 120 chp officers sent into oakland and alameda county last week made

71 arrests recovering 145 stolen cars seizing illegal drugs, recovering $60,000 worth of stolen electronics and season 4 guns, including a ghost gun. well, the initial surge of chp officers is over. chp will continue to conduct operations in high crime areas in the east bay. >> we do still continue our operation safe streets here with a how california highway patrol they do still patrolling the city's streets here. they're here twice a week will continue that partnership with the california patrol in till until further notice. >> and we have learned 70 chp officers will be focused on the oakland area with the remaining 50 spread across alameda county. >> and we continue to learn more about that breaking news. we first brought to you during our noon broadcast. >> we now know that one person is dead and up to 15 injured after a shooting broke out at the kansas city chiefs super bowl parade. right now. we're not sure about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but we do know 2 people with weapons have been taken in for questioning our

station in kansas city says the shots were fired at the end of the rally near the parking garage at the city's union station. video from the area shows people running after shots were fired. affiliate spoke to witnesses who described hearing a quick pops that sounded like fireworks that people didn't realize shots were being fired until the crowd started running. one man we heard from says he was right next to the shooting when it began. >> there was so many people there in the crowd and once it was realized what was going on, you can see the crowd shift. there was so many people down there was but the the police department it they detained that situation very quickly. >> again, police in kansas city, missouri, have confirmed several people have been shot and hurt at the championship parade for the super bowl win in kansas city chiefs. you know, at least one person is dead. we don't know the extent of the other victims injuries. this is a developing story. we'll bring you more information once it comes into our newsroom. and uc berkeley

has responded to criticism from students who claim that they received a delayed response from the school security system as the shooting took place on that campus on friday night. police say a suspect fired multiple rounds into the air, sending panic students running. >> this happened outside sproul plaza around a 40 no one was hurt and the suspect was taken into custody. but some students say they did not get a campus wide digital alert about the shooting until well after the situation was over. uc berkeley issued a statement to kron 4 about that incident. it reads in part, quote, we understand and appreciate the concerns raised regarding the warning me messages and as with any serious incident like this one, we will conduct a review to identify areas where we can improve. we'll take a closer look at our warned protocols, including messaging, expanding the list of campus officials with access to the emergency system. in the south bay. san jose is cracking down on crime by launching a new pilot

program. the mayor and police chief talking about the importance of having surveillance video available when solving crimes. our tiffany justice joins us and has let details on this program. >> right. this is a business that received the first surveillance cameras through this program right off of monterey highway located in one of the areas that police are saying they're seeing a rise in crime. >> studies have shown that surveillance cameras can reduce the overall crime rate by 25 percent. >> wednesday, local leaders here in san jose announced the launch of their two-year pilot program. the capture crime pilot program came from a $75,000 budget proposal in 2022. crowd for speaking with the owner of chinese cafe. a family run restaurant. he's excited to be part of this program. say she's seen her fair share of crime in this area. there i killed. >> and in shopping center

shopping centers or commercial hobbs are experiencing elevated rates of crime. definitely collaborate work. >> with some of our small business owners within the city of san jose. we want to encourage you to reach out to the police department or crime prevention unit. so that so that we can come out to your business and provide you a camera surveillance system. the system will come color cameras, external hard drive and a monitor. we're going to look to make sure that they're divided amongst the 4 divisions within the city of san jose. so that every business gets the every small business get the opportunity. >> the pilot program will start with 50 cameras. mayor is asking if you are small business here in san jose would like to take part reach out to the san jose crime prevention unit. you can receive a surveillance camera at a hard drive at no cost to you again. each surveillance camera part of this program needs to be registered with the san jose police department reporting to justice. >> kron 4 news.

>> today mayor london bridge celebrated the 20th anniversary of the same marriage of same marriage rather in san francisco with the lgbtq+ community. nearly 200 couples registered with the san francisco county clerk's office got married on the city's annual valentine's day. celebration of love as part of the city hall celebration. the mayor and various city officials will will renewals and officiate marriage of same couples throughout the day. >> in 2004. mayor gavin >> first came into office. >> he took the ball courageous stat to this is what we're going francisco. >> in spring 2020 for a fixed number of couples every day we'll be able to get same day copies of their marriage certificate. a process that can take up to 10 days as part of a new pilot appointments. service.

>> developing news, the investigation continues into a heart wrenching murder suicide in san mateo, 2 children and 2 adults were found dead inside a home monday during a welfare check. police gave an update on the case saying officers

checked all the doors and windows of the home but found no signs of forced entry. inside investigators found a man and a woman dead in a bathroom with gunshot wounds. officers say they found a gun in the bathroom and in a bedroom, police found 2 boys dead. authorities say they are now still trying to figure out how the children died. >> children did not have gunshot wounds and there was no signs of a struggle through the house >> all of the if there's any bruising or anything like that would come from the autopsy and we don't have any information about >> police wouldn't say if the 4 people dead were members of a family. they say that they are still waiting for autopsy results. officers also working to determine a potential motive. in national news. 3 police officers were hospitalized after good shot while trying to make an animal cruelty arrest in washington, d.c., this all happened around 07:30am, metro police say the shooter is still held up inside the home where officers

tried to serve the arrest warrant. officers say the suspect refused to come out and even fired several rounds. the officers involved are expected to survive the circumstances surrounding the animal. cruelty accusations remain unclear at this time. and major credit card companies are moving forward with creating standout merchant codes for retailers who sell guns and ammo. the individual codes would allow mastercard visa and american express to potentially track suspicious purchase patterns from a firearms retailer. they then would be able to report it to law enforcement agencies. but the code would not be able to reveal exactly what was purchased. gun control advocate say this could help stop mass shootings. opponents say the action would infringe on second amendment rights. and continuing our coverage on the war between israel and hamas. israeli forces now wardrobe palestinians sheltering at one of the last functioning hospitals to evacuate. israel accuses hamas militants of using hospitals and other civilian buildings as cover

and say monday's airstrike provided cover for israeli troops rescuing 2 hostages elsewhere in the city. those airstrikes flattening large swathes of buildings, intense sheltering families who have fled to rafah from across gaza and also taking the lives of at least 74 people, including 27 children. and 22 women. a bridge was blocked to traffic in both directions this morning because a protest in response to the latest assault. now an estimated 15 to 20 protesters with signs and banners blocked all lanes at around 07:45am. according to a chp incident long, the protests held in response to israel's recent bombing of rafah city in the gaza strip. now banners were displayed on the bridge that said stop arming israel and hands off rafah. the protests came to an end after about 30 minutes after and then the group at that point got back into their cars and left the area. house

republicans are digging in their heels by refusing to pass a massive foreign aid package. it clear the senate yesterday with some bipartisan support. our dc correspondent raquel martin reports on the bill's future. >> the white house is pushing to keep this legislation alive. but speaker of the house mike johnson says he is in no rush to bring the bill to a vote right now. he is demanding a meeting at the white house. the clock is ticking. the white house is ramping up pressure on republican speaker of the house mike johnson to pass a massive foreign aid package. this isn't about politics is literally about our national security. >> the 95 billion dollar package that would provide money to ukraine, israel and taiwan passed the senate earlier this week. white house national security communications adviser john kirby warns any delay puts u.s. allies in danger and we get again urged the speaker to take this get it voted on. but

speaker johnson is not budging. the republican led house will not be jammed or forced into passing a foreign aid bill that was opposed by most republican senators. he says the bill is going nowhere in the house unless trump era border policies are included. look, the american people are with us on this issue. texas republican congressman dan crenshaw argues ukraine can falling in the next and the next month. so when you get this right, but house democratic leader hakeem jeffries says the bill has enough republican support to pass if speaker johnson just get out the way and it will pass the house with more than 300 votes, even some republicans like north carolina, congressman patrick mchenry agreed there's a clear majority in both the house and the senate support our allies globally but predicts bumpy road ahead. it's just going to take a while. it's going to very, very difficult. the white house argues time is of the essence, especially for ukraine. the defense department says ukraine is running low on ammunition and u.s. aid to ukraine ran out

last month for now in washington. raquel martin, back to you. >> all right, switching gears now to talk about the weather. a live look now at the richmond bridge, which looking quite to help out there. lots of rain on the camera lens kyla. yeah, i know it's going make for tricky rush hour this afternoon. those look, you folks that work from home, you you did the right thing to debut stated. so we've got not one, not 2, but believe it or not. 3 low pressure systems lined up in the pacific. we're getting the firot one right now. this is just very light rain. most of beneficial rain that will soak into the ground. but i do get a little concerned as we go through the next 5 or 6 days that we have these repetitive systems and as they come in, bring more and more rain, we get more and more saturated ground and eventually we'll have some flooding issues. but right now it's mostly light rain. as we zoom in here, you can see some of this is move now over to the east bay in spots like hayward, even a little bit into the south bay. here are some. the heavier self was falling redwood city and now he's moved on. but none of this is incredibly heavy rain, right? so sam ramon getting a few of those more robust showers as well as we zoom out, you can see this kind of comes in waves and that's

what's happening. us. it just kind of rolls through and that will be the cases go throughout the night tonight. so what it means is that those roads are definitely going to be slick out there. we're looking at about a quarter to half an inch of rain tomorrow, though we get a break and that rate class through friday. so we get to put the umbrellas away for a little bit. but then we get into system to overnight friday into saturday system. 3 sunday into monday and that for system looks very strong. so get the first one we're dealing with now. second one coming in late friday night into early saturday morning could see bring sierra snow with it too. 3rd, one coming in. this is sunday night into monday so they get a tiny little break on sunday in the afternoon. but you can see it just kind of keeps rolling this winter pattern. and we add all this up. it gets a bit much by the time we get to next monday. these numbers are getting really high. so what that means is that we could have that flooding concern when we get to that space. so just be ready for it again tomorrow and friday. we're going to have that race will have a chance. >> to kind of get your house ready for that. i don't we're going to be big problems

according to them, they say they get tons more orders today because everybody's wanting to show that love. and according to the national retail federation, will 53% of consumers plan to celebrate today spending around 25 billion dollars in total. that means each person is going to be spending about $186 this on valentine's day. experts say those tops gifts will. it includes candies, sweet treats like these cupcakes that were showing you, of course, you've got the classic flowers greeting cards, dining out jewelry and clothes. of course. now when it comes to the age groups that are going to be spending the most, those are people aged. 25 to 34 when it comes to what's on the menu this year? well, there's a lot at this cupcake shop and a certain of all of our flavors essentially have a valentine's day twist to it. but today, specifically we a chocolate vanilla that has a really nice pink topping strawberries on top. that's have a classic chocolate vanilla. and i have a

>> in the east bay, the city of concord passes a rent control ordinance at a heated meeting between landlords and tenants. kron four's. sara stinson reports. >> a rally was held before the concord city council meeting tuesday with both tenants and landlords shouting about their rights. every seat was taken at the meeting. people even wore a sticker on their church to show which side they're on the agenda. rent control for multifamily rental complexes with 2 or more units built before february. first 1995. what's being proposed is limiting annual rent increases to 3% or 60% of consumer price index. whichever is lower as well as just cause for eviction, which could apply to most rented units in concord, including single-family homes. however, many council members

debated that for a while. just cause would not apply to dwelling units. just cause does not apply when a tenant is evicted for at fault reasons like non payment. if there's no phone with the landlord wants to evict the tenant, this ordinance proposes to require property owners to pay 3 times the fair market rent and an extra $3,000 to cover moving expenses. both sides say this has been debated for 7 years and they're ready for city council to make a decision. city ca. so really get to see the real situations that all the 2 winters family and children are suffering with the rent control of the rent, rent increases every year. and it's a it's a really bright. and so what's going to happen is that we're going to be in living on the street. so this isn't really just about. >> you know, rental rights. it's about property owner rights and that's what strikes at my core city council will have a second reading of these ordinances at the next

meeting, march 5th. i'm sara stinson reporting in concord kron. 4 >> the city of san jose. my face delays in its push to build 200 tiny homes for homeless residents. governor gavin newsom issued 30 million dollars last much month to or rather last march to deploy the california national guard to bill 1200 tiny homes across the state. san jose got 12.7 million of that to begin developing the vta ceron yard in north san jose. originally the state plan to cover construction costs. the san jose may now need between 5 to 10 million dollars. more to cover the full cost. mayor matt mahan believes temporary housing is one of the main reasons homelessness has decreased in the city close to 9,000 homeless people have been rehoused there since 2020. we're now learning a person died last night after getting hit by a bart train. this was at macarthur station in oakland. bart says the collision happened at around 11 20 last night when someone entered the trackway for

unknown reasons, the person was declared dead. and freemont. police are looking for potential victims of a man who they say sexually assaulted a woman on monday night. this is 27 year-old marvin velasquez of fremont's. police say he attacked and sexually assaulted a woman who was walking in the area of fremont boulevard and eggers drive around 9 police say community members held him there until officers got there to arrest him. and update now on a cold case involving a body found 29 years ago in the north bay. investigators say the remains of robin fay hendrick were discovered of allay that's a confirmation of that police found her skeletal remains in a creek bed near healdsburg in august 1993, it was the dna doe project that finally identified her hendrick was last seen alive in valais in february 1992. the sheriff's office is investigating exactly how she died. east bay fire crews working on storm cleanup had viable tool stolen from their

trucks as kron four's terisa stasio reports. some of the stolen items are irreplaceable. >> drove up the lock and went through the mechanism, opened it up and that's where they store most of the personal equipment that was was kept in gone. that is what a specialized team of firefighters discovered last wednesday morning say woke up out of pleasanton hotel, ready to get back to work but found someone had ripped into their trucks and stolen equipment and bags and that we've been working for 4 days straight. >> finding out tomorrow went into the hotel and we came out are crew, both are pickup trucks are vandalized, broken into a store chain saws and personal equipment from us. >> this is crew ate in action last week during the latest powerful storms that swept through the bay area. erik truax with alameda county fire department says that the unit is new and designed to tackle emergencies uch as downed trees and other calamities. ely, we had to go out of service for unable to provide that service that we have been

i guess that sentimental value, the relationship that we've all built around each other and our equipment. that's a part of a strike is the tools that we work with and yes, if it's out there, we would love to get or just anything. you an alameda county, theresa kron, 4 news. >> all right. let's take a live look now outside. i-80, castle pa become pretty darned cold out there people. carefully make their way down the roadways out there. let's check in now with cuyler for more perspective on all this. hey, yes, kind of happy. we don't see a lot of cars out there because you're not already up in tahoe. this is not the time to get on the road. you can see here as we take a look at the service notice there's some white caps out there. >> some of the winds start to kick up on the lake right now as we speak. and in fact, you can see some of the snow falling in truckee showing up here. temperatures dropping into the 30's there, south lake tahoe right now. 39 degrees down at the surface. solid indication that this winter weather is ready to roll as we get into the afternoon and evening. so the western facing slopes are under that winter storm warning that goes until

04:00pm on thursday can see the advisory is then for spots like turkey and down in south lake tahoe itself, out for one to 2 feet up at really high elevations above 6,000 feet, 6 to 12 elsewhere. and, you know, these next systems over the next 3 there to come through. they are relatively high elevation snow. having said that, i think we're going to pick up some good snow pack with this for the next 5 or 6 days. but it means you have to pick your moments if you're going to get on the road, right? because we're going to the wind and the snow tonight. we reduced visibility. chain controls are certainly possible. not just for this, but the other systems coming through. this could be another one that's going to snowy saturday and a very snowy monday. so let's look at a couple of days ahead here. and of course, we'll continue to follow this for you as we work our way through the week. but snow tonight turning into snow showers tomorrow morning. then a little bit of a break there on thursday into friday before the next round comes in. as we get to the afternoon on saturday and then another round after that. so it's going to be piling up. that is not a great thing. if you have to travel, that is a great thing for our snowpack. we still need to make up some ground here. so i'm really happy to see that we do have

this in the pipeline and that is cold enough for it to turn from rain to snow. what you're seeing happen right now are the last hour or so. there is the line of that freezing line. starting to get that snow making. meanwhile, back in the bay, of course, we've got the showers rolling across here. you can see them as we zoom in and a little bit. most of it is light right now. you don't see a lot of those yellows and oranges. having said that is going to be a little bit a pleasant for if you're making your way out and about this afternoon. but we're going to catch a break tomorrow and friday. then back in and on saturday. and we've got more rain rolling after that. i'll be back in a little bit. we'll talk more about that in our extended forecast. back to you. all right. thank you. >> it's valentine's day one of the busiest days for the rideshare industry. and that's a big reason why the coalition of drivers from uber, lyft and doordash are on strike today. they say they want to bring attention to what they consider to be low wages and unsafe working conditions. thousands of workers across the country are taking part in the strike, according to advocacy groups, uber, lyft

and doordash have become heartless. they say cutting into profit margins for drivers making their established workflow less lucrative. one driver says companies use to take less than a quarter affairs and now it can be as high as 70%. >> i got 40 to 42 minute ride and i $11 for it. that comes up to less than a. 50 miles an on everything i was now we want to get paid for what to look for. i want to be able pick family because this is. >> this is too much into taking advantage of us. >> in a statement, lyft said it is continually working to improve safety, transparency and the driver experienced adding that changes will ensure its drivers will always make at least 70% of rider fares after external fees. by the tenants with alaska airlines voted to authorize a strike if they cannot reach a deal with the airline for a new contract in a message on its website, alaska airlines

some love inspired accessories. as you can see, they're very sweet. it certainly looks like a really fun event out there. and joining us live now to talk about it is lauren dish pandey. she is the san jose airport volunteer coordinator. good afternoon to you. it happened it's great to see you. and what a fantastic idea for an tell us about the therapy animal program. how long has it been in place for? >> stacy was the airport in the entire country to have that there be animal program shortly after 9.11, we had dinner chaplain cap and leave ships who owned a pair of phe boxer. there be animal boxer. great dane mix named orion and she asked to bring arriving into the airport to comfort passengers who are scared of flying after 9.11. >> an important powerful initiative, of course, not just for valentine's day, but any day of the year because we were just playing some video

of today's event. want to tell us a bit about how it went today. >> it went great. we had so many happy smiling passengers totally unexpected to them. they didn't even know we had l therapy animal program, which is part of the reason that we actually do the parades. we want to have as many animals together as possible spread that awareness. and wages blew people away. it was such a rewarding event. >> yeah, it is. it really is so sweet to just be created. if somebody is feeling a little bit nervous or even lonely on this valentine's day as they're heading off on a trip somewhere to be greeted by such a just for little face. there. could you tell us a bit about i mean, how many animal volunteers are part of this? and do they have to go through special training? >> yes, over that there be animal program. we have 2 different source groups, the lines of therapy dogs and also love on a leash. and each animal is a highly trained to be airport setting, not just

any dog can comment or rabbit more we even have caps in the program and important, too. but aren't. >> i don't know. i was i was listening to exam, >> very specialized training program. we have 50 animals in the program right now. and one of them is that there be cat named mookie. he was the very first therapy cat in the entire country. and today he will actually be retiring from the program. he is retiring to florida. we're very sad to lose him, but he's up there in age around 16 years old and ready to start his next adventure. >> it sounds like there really some incredible animals with wonderful stories that touched so many lives who have come through the airport over in san jose. if somebody is watching this and they think that they have a great therapy animal, is there any way they can sign up to participate?

>> absolutely. so good of bias. kc dot com slash volunteer just like on the screen and there's actually volunteer page and you contact one of our source, korea port meters and they will be able to tell more information. >> okay. wonderful is this something that how the people, for example, of how travelers know, you know, to seek these animal therapists while they're at the airport. is there a certain signers in an area where they typically hang out? >> so the animals are just monitoring like regular passengers, too, and that. but we have recently rebranded from the cain and courage as tracy. happy tails. we're working getting her new branding out there and the human handlers will be wearing t shirts and vests that actually identify them as a therapy animal as opposed to an emotional support animal, which would be actually getting plane. >> okay. very good. that is

sure that those balloons are fully deflated, selling metallic balloons will become illegal in california in 2031. all right. well, switching gears, talk about the weather live. look outside at san francisco. >> and it's damp out there definite i have to say, though, stephanie, just tell me something new or a producer credit to i didn't know about the balloons and causing power outages. that's a fascinating. yeah, it's unfortunate. yeah, it is ok, well, let's talk about my area of expertise which would the weather. >> looking at month today, totals of rain for santa rosa as an example. so we've had 3.2, 1 inches of rain. we're only halfway through the month, right, nor most 2.9, 6 or up a quarter of an inch. and we've already got additional 10th of an inch today and we've got several systems lined up to bring more. so we're having kind of a banner month for rain here. one low pressure system that's bringing us the light showers at the moment. but we've got another one right here. you can see that comma head shape, counter clockwise circulation letting you know, it's low

pressure and there's another one out there, too. so not surprisingly, when we look ahead at prediction center's forecast, they are expecting us next week. also to get above average precipitation. once this gets rolling on saturday, it's going to be a bit of a rainy run today. not bad, though. so we've got these light showers taking into at 07:30pm, tonight. certainly wet roads are going to be out there. but as we get into the overnight, we're going to get a little bit of clearing and in the morning we're just going to have a mix of clouds and sun. not bad radar thursday should be looking pretty good. friday. we see the clouds move in, but we stay dry. and then saturday you can see this as we get overnight friday into saturday morning at next round of rain coming in and another one sunday into monday. so totals for this that we're looking at right now, a quarter of an inch to half an inch taking you to the saturday system. we're going to bump that up. you can see by an additional inch in san francisco, north bay starting to get some really high totals and then taking you into monday and tuesday. look at this. these numbers are just getting up there. so what does this mean? that means get ready. we've got tomorrow and the next day

to prepare for a really long stretch of what looks like them. pretty significant showers that have atmospheric river components to them as we get to saturday sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday, you get the so yeah, i know i want to show you the end of this, but i don't have it, stephanie. unfortunately, it's just kind of rain, rain and cited okay. we'll have the umbrella ready to go. i all right. well, for your money this afternoon, big changes could soon be coming to your utility bill, but not without some pushback at the state capital. first. >> right now, utility bills are based on consumption only with consumers paying more with the more energy they use. but a b 205, passed a year and a half ago and it would allow utility bills to include a fix charge, which would increase based on your income supporters argue it would benefit low-income americans or other californians. but many lawmakers from both sides of the aisle are speaking out against the policy. their concern frustrated because >> i get the calls. from the people whose rates are going up.
