any rainfall up there. nice clear view all the way down into the bay. we're still seeing snow on top of the sierra nevada as well as on top of some of the mountains east of san jose talking like observatory, mount hamilton spots like that. a few showers up and down highway one between santa cruz and half moon bay. well, a little further northward, pretty calm except for solano county, seeing a few light showers out that direction. do anticipate the opportunity of some afternoon thunderstorms, especially further inland later today. here's around 02:15pm, could see some isolated showers developing along the bay little bit later on. and sings that same shower potential for those same inland areas. further away from the bay shore. temperatures very chilly this morning. fremont at 41 oakland and berkeley all the way down to 40 degrees. currently and a lot of 30's for the north bay snow level as low as 1000 feet for some spots. that's putting it well down on those hillsides 50's for your daytime highs later on in a

chance of a thunderstorm, although most of us will be looking up at much calmer conditions. back to you. all right. thank you for that. ok, let's get a look at your morning commute. the bay bridge right now about 11 minutes. >> traveling into the city this morning, san mateo bridge just short of 14 80 to 101. if you're going to be on the richmond, sandra fell bridge is going to be about 9 minutes there and it's going to look golden gate bridge. 37 to the tolls 20 minute morning ride, ok? well, now the baseball today, the home opener for the giants. so a lot of fans excited about that oracle partner be welcoming fans back. >> to the ballpark as the giants play their first home game of the season. let's get out there live. crawford's will trend standing by inside oracle park with a sneak peek. a will. >> we are about 6 and a half hours away from first pitch at one. 35, you know what? everybody likes the f word. i know i do. right free. lots of people wonder think about. well, the effort i like is friday and it's free because

so many things are given out during the season. so i know the fans want to see this. that's the only 7 is giving a thumbs up right there. they'll have college night. they have all this all these things during the regular season. if you come on down and going to the ballpark, which by the way, was listed as the top 5 best ballpark in all of major league baseball. the field is covered because of the rain that we've seen over the past 24 hours. but they will clean it all up. it will be nice and dry for first pitch. the giants they need more than free swag. what they need is a win and lots of them because so far they start out the season. not so great to end 5 on the road. and by the way, if you're wondering why every year the giants never start off the season at home, i can tell you they purposely ask major league baseball. we want to be on the road to try to get some winds under our belt, get that all that lather. but by the time they get back here will have tons of fans. they should have tons of fans

anyway for the home opener. they're back here 2, 5, lots of festivities. the fans can get here in about 2 and a half hours from now. there a lot of people in at 10. 35. they're playing a very familiar opponent, not just team wise, but manager realize the giants are on the road to play the dodgers and the padres. and speaking of the padres, bob melvin, he was the manager for the padres last season before coming back home literally. it's from the bay area he went. i managed the oakland a's and now he's the manager for the san francisco giants. so he's facing a very familiar opponent. there are still tickets available. i understand it starts off at around $65, depending on how much you want to spend and how much how close you want to get to the field. to dig a little bit deeper into your pockets to get that really close up view. but we do expect a lot of giants vip to be here and a celebrity. i just found out montell jordan for the 1990's. it this is how we do it. he

the coliseum? we have kron four's gayle ong with a look. >> i wish that we were able to keep a's in oakland 4, 1, 2, 3, or more years speaking to us by phone, alameda county supervisor david haubert who has been in meetings with the oakland a's team executive says the focus for the future of the oakland coliseum will be to bring in as many events as possible. >> so just sporting events with the oakland roots set to play at the venue where housing authority to working closely. >> them operators to keep people employed and to keep revenue coming in for call. so and then the ring up operations. one team that hopes to be part of the oakland coliseum future, the oakland ballers, the team's co-founders join kron. 4 news at 3 thursday. we're excited to play every monday park. >> hopefully beyond that, you know. >> we're talking to the city. we're talking to the he e- fans and we will do what's best for for oakland. we

continue to be excited about the prospect of playing the game at at the coliseum. if if that ever comes to fruition, we're excited to go see routes games there in seoul, games. you know, it's a beautiful ballpark. we want to see it activated. a statement from oakland mayor sheng thao reads in part, quote. >> we wish the a's the best and we'll continue our conversations with them on facilitating the sale of their share of the coliseum site. the city of oakland will now focus on advancing redevelopment efforts at the colosseum. there are guilty parties here. john fisher, major league baseball and the elected officials of oakland alameda county, former a's executive andy do which weigh in on the future of the coliseum. with the a's moving to sacramento, the you can see this book over my shoulder. >> it's called goodbye. oakland village, referring to a book he co authored about the history of how bay area sports teams like the warriors and raiders left oakland. as for the coliseum, do it says several 100 workers from security management

hundreds of jobs and he's among them. >> i grew up. >> watch my father man. and it's like a dream job for me not much. it makes emotion. you want to yell strain. you know, you want to figure next move as soon as possible. >> thompson says there's always other places to be a vendor like over at oracle park. he says that's just not the same. at this point. has no plans to follow the team to sacramento. >> well, we have developing news. pacifica police releasing body camera video from the deadly shooting that happened last so this was a case where officers shot and killed a mother who they say had just shot and injured her own son. police identified that woman as 50 year-old michelle aria. some 4 sarah stinson has that story. >> the daughter says her mom has never been violent before. she says the night prior to the shooting, they were celebrating her brother's birthday. she says that's when they learned their mom had bought a gun. they tried to convince her to return it. she says they're still in shock,

but she's glad her brother's, ok, gunshots, gunshots. >> newly released body camera video shows the moment leading up to a deadly police shooting in pacifica. it was before 8 in the morning on march 27th when a 23 year-old man called 9-1-1 after locking himself in the bathroom of his apartment. he says he got shot by his mother. police identified her thursday as 50 year-old michelle raise shot. want it woman in early? 50 point. a moment. >> police say a raise was just pulling out of the apartment complex on francisco boulevard. 2 officers tried to stop her one on each side of the driveway. staff police lowdown. the video to show a raise pointing a gun at both of them before officers shot at her. >> after this car came to a stop, officers say they removed the gun from a raise his hand and checked on suspects down. >> ambulance arrived for both the sun and mom, but a raise died at the scene.

>> the son was taken to the hospital after being shot in his left arm and right wrist in a race car. police say they found a loaded handgun and 4 boxes of ammunition in the apartment. they found the family dog shot and killed the san mateo county district attorney's office is in the middle of an independent investigation to see if the shooting was in compliance. pacifica. police are also doing an internal investigation to see if officers followed policies and procedures while speaking with a race daughter off camera, she told me she believes her mom was going through a mental episode that morning and wishes she never had bought that gun. >> the da says it will take 8 to 9 weeks to complete its investigation. the 2 officers involved are on administrative leave. i'm sara stinson reporting in pacifica. back to you. >> well, happening today said it was a board of supervisors. president aaron peskin is set to file paperwork to officially into the running for mayor supervisor. pasco currently serves as the president of the san francisco

>> all right. we're back at 7.15, with a check of the weather. look, we've got the sunrise happening on island. clear conditions over accidents out. there a good thing. i very good thing the morning, we'll take it after yesterday for sure. nice. easy friday morning commute as we'll talk about this second. also looking a little calmer out there on the roads to which is so nice. >> the east bay hills right here, a little bit of cloud cover overhead, but so much brighter. getting a good sunrise. as we noted, looking out there at the bay. currently a few spotty showers, mostly at the coast and then in mountains of the east bay, still very much so seeing snow in a few spots, especially up in the sierra nevada, where we're still under a winter weather advisory. if you happen to be heading up to the sierra, absolutely. go for it. expect a few delays. low pressure begins to move out today. but the cold stays with us were deeply in this colder air mass

that moved in across the region yesterday. it isn't just instantly going to push back out. we're going to stay kind of cool this weekend. as for this afternoon, 03:00pm as see a few showers up and down the east bay shoreline into the later afternoon. a chance of thunderstorms in inland napa solano contra costa and alameda counties. best chance of rainfall is definitely further inland closer to the bay and the coast. we should be comparatively dry tomorrow. a cool day, but a dry day, importantly, saturday night into sunday, we will see a resurgence very briefly of a few light showers here. and there mostly gone. by the time you're getting the day going on sunday and sunday itself should be pretty nice and dry. good news for monday for the eclipse. we're going to be crystal clear for it and warming up just in time for getting outside and watching it. as for rainfall totals for the rest of the weekend, less than a 10th of an inch for most areas. you get the picture. we're very much so at the tail end of this, we do have a winter weather advisory

expect snow levels as low as 1000 feet. that's obviously placed it on some of our bay area mountaintops to staying put in the bay area. expect daytime highs today in the mid to upper 50's cool. if you are heading out to the home opener for the giants taking on the padres today at one. 35 pm. i would bring the rain jacket with you even though we're likely to come out of the game without a single drop. we still do have that shower chance tomorrow. temperatures will be back into the low 60's climbing into the low 70's by monday for the eclipse and by the middle of next week's and inland areas could be hitting 80 degrees. back to you. all right. quick check of traffic for you this morning. not a lot going on. we did have an issue on highway 17, but that's clear now. so that's great. >> your bay bridge drive looking good. leading up to the toll plaza. 12 minutes to get from the maze over into san francisco. it is a little slow what you get a treasure island into the city. but

again, it's just 12 minutes to get to where you need to go. here's a quick look at the san mateo bridge. not a lot going on here, either. 14 minutes to get from hayward out to foster city. so westbound 92 looking good. we're also looking at your richmond. sandra fell bridge a little backed up here at the toll plaza. looks like that backup extends back to castro street. but once you're clear of the toll gates, you're doing good across bay into marin county. just 12 minutes to get across the water and then our final stop for the golden gate bridge where it's again. just 22 minutes to get from nevado at highway. 37 all the way down into san francisco at the toll plaza. >> time now 7.18, and for your money this morning, apple is toying with the idea of personal robot and the monthly jobs report is out. jane king live at the nasdaq with those stories and more at the friday i write a happy friday to you and the headline jobs report number better than expected. 303,000 jobs created last month. >> the unemployment rate ticked a little bit lower. 3.8% job growth and away the best since may of 2023. now

bay, berkeley is getting fined $130,000. >> overall, the city manage its landfill site at cesar chavez park. so bay area, air quality officials say the site failed to prevent harmful gases from escaping into the air during a power outage back in february. they say these

is the time on this sunny friday morning. it is a sunny friday. so. >> sure a lot of you are already making some plans is we didn't know was going to be rainy well, john, probably now yesterday it was rainy. today was forecasting. definitely a much calmer day. so we're looking at a day today that is going to be super nice to be getting out there. but i still bring the rain jackets with going to be extra layer just because it's chilly, but also because we're not completely out of the woods as far as showers goes, we're looking outside at the embarcadero right here. a lot of traffic goes. birds are out and about don't see a ton of people out

they're being resold for double that on a 3rd party resellers. the game is against the texas rangers and it's scheduled for september. 26th. >> well, in the east bay, a search is underway for the city's police say stole a car and antioch hospital parking lot. so this all happened tuesday afternoon at the kaiser permanente, antioch medical center. this is why on sand creek road. the victim's actually told police he found that these trying to steal his car and when he interrupted them, they confronted him which calls in to fear for his safety. that's when he says they drove away. police later found the car nearby empty. no arrests have been made. and a man is dead following a stabbing at a san leandro safeway. this all happened just after 5 tuesday. this is located right on bancroft avenue. so and police say the victim got into a fight with another person in the store. that's when the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim before he left the store. police have not released the identities of the victim or the suspect just yet

who remains at large this morning. i'm sure we get more information. we'll share that. >> let's go to the south bay now where 2 men accused of selling drugs on the dark web have been arrested following a monthslong investigation in san jose. so take a look. this is what police say they found in their homes. officers been investigating this since a traffic stop back in november when they found illegal guns in the car or illegal drugs in the car that led to a search warrant of the suspects homes and thats when police discovered multiple guns and more large amounts of drugs all intended for sale. police say the investigation revealed the man sold illegal drugs on the dark web and only accepted cryptocurrency in payment. police have arrested a man they believe was involved in a robbery of a peninsula business where they tied up the victims at gunpoint. before leaving the scene, investigators say that carlos gonzales held up a business on terminal court in south san francisco last month, detectives identified gonzales as a suspect and carried out a

search warrant of his home and hayward. he was arrested on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping and is now been booked into the san mateo jail. >> protesters blocked the entrance of the lockheed martin's research facility in sunnyvale yesterday. the group calling for a cease-fire in gaza saying the facility is supplying israel with jets and missiles. about 250 people participated in that rally. >> lasted for about 5 hours. one point driver sped towards them, got out of the car and threatened them with a knife. >> what you want present.

interview with us. it comes as the state faces a projected budget deficit that could range anywhere from 38 to 73 billion dollars. >> we have a budget deficit just as we always do at home. we need to be able to get our budget in line with our finances. he says legislative leaders are doing exactly that just hours before this interview, mcguire governor gavin newsom and assembly speaker robert reverse announced an early budget action agreement to shrink the deficit by 17.3 billion dollars. just how they plan to do it. their proposal calls for 5.2 billion in borrowing. another 5.2 billion in funding delays and 3.6 billion in actual cuts including a 300 plus million dollar cut to some climate programs. a 500 million dollar cut to a program responsible for building school facilities. and a 700 plus million dollar cut to reduce administrative costs across state agencies. this urgent action is going to make the job of closing the remainder of the deficit, less daunting. tough but less

daunting as we move into the june deadline. it's sort of like if you were looking at your household budget and you pay down some of your debt or, you know, paid off of a loan early that reduces your future obligations to pay that loan back. >> that's exactly what the state is trying to do. governor gavin newsom expressing optimism about the plan, calling it a balanced approach that meets the needs of californians and maintains a strong fiscal foundation for the state's future. but republicans say they believe it does not go far enough with cuts. >> they also are disappointed they we e not included in any budget negotiations. that's frustrating to me. and i think it's unfortunate for the process and republican caucus represents 8 million californians. >> who are left out of the sot behind the scenes discussions to come up with solutions just scenes on democratic today. >> and the legislature is

up co 2 monitors across the bay and here on the map, you see all those dots. we're monitors have been installed 80 of them from sonoma to san francisco and down the alameda county and between 2018f2022, those monitors recorded a steady decrease in co 2 emissions and that translates to about 2.6% yearly drop in vehicle emission rates. the results of the first piece of evidence we have right now that the adoption of electric cars is lower being a lowering carbon emissions in a measurable way. more than 200 billion dollars in 2 high speed rail over the next 5 years. each year, 40 billion dollars would be split between the states and regions that show they can use that money most effectively. a high-speed rail is a popular and highly transportation throughout much of europe in asia. and supporters of this bill say the u.s. is falling behind. we need to catch up. >> we're behind the rest of the world by a lot. but we can
