>> good evening. thanks for being with us tonight on kron 4 news at 11, i'm grant lotus and i'm noelle bellow developing news in redwood city tonight where a pedestrian seriously injured after investigators say a samtrans bus hit them at sequoyah station. according to samtrans, the pedestrian was trying to catch a bus around 6.45. this evening at the caltrain station in redwood city. officials say they tripped and fell and the rear wheels of the bus ran over both of the person's legs. they were taken to the hospital. bring you more details on that on kron for news dot com. meanwhile, traffic is crawling along eastbound 5.80, at north livermore avenue in livermore because >> of this mess here, a big rig overturned around 8 o'clock tonight spilling debris all over the freeway. the chp is on scene there reporting minor injuries. but there have been a slew of big rigs over turning in the bay area the past few days causing

>> welcome back. in san francisco, the muslim community and interfaith leaders are speaking out about a mosque being vandalized during the holy month of ramadan. they see the window broken. their police have arrested a man accused of smashing the windows with a skateboard kron four's. gayle ong has details. >> we hope no harm the falls. anybody of any ethnicity. we are here with you together. that your pain is our pain. we are relieved that the perpetrator has been apprehended. interfaith leaders showing solidarity with the muslim community friday afternoon. >> days after a man smashed windows of this, not mosque and harassed members. surveillance video captured it all. san francisco police say the man you see in the video is 35 year-old robert greatly arrested him for felony vandalism. >> we arrested him and charged

impact the bay area and also the sierra nevada as we head toward the next 24 hours. so you can see out there right now, things are kind of quiet out there. 15, 18 looking good. but that's going to change tomorrow. we want to bring your chains with you. if you're headed to the high country, we've got. >> and unseasonable cool storm that is rolling around out there right now. >> and that's going bring that snow level all the way down to about 3500 feet as we head throughout the weekend winds. yeah, they'll be kicking up. maybe some 50, 50 mile an hour gust as we head the sierra nevada, the greater lake tahoe area. wind advisories up there. we've got winter weather advisories along the western of the sierra nevada southward toward mammoth lakes. also a new 70 valley could see upwards of 6 inches, maybe a foot of snow across the high country as we head throughout the weekend. so here we are looking at more of the showers continuing on and off as we head in towards sunday. snow showers too. and then it looks like things taper off as we get them and a return to some dry weather. but between now and then you have be careful. the high country is going to get pretty wild up there over the next couple days, especially this late in the season. it is dry

on the golden gate bridge right now. but that will likely soon change point today we had a drastic change in temperature. some of the numbers as much as 20 plus degrees cooler as high pressure kind of getting out of the way. and boy, it's going to be a lot colder by tomorrow afternoon. the sea breeze are beginning to kick in racine. the southerly winds out ahead of this cold front. some 20 must plus mile an hour winds maybe gusting those high as 35, maybe 40 miles an hour along the coastline. that storm system just about to make landfall. not that far away now. so the rain will be picking up as we head throughout the night tonight. same of the winds and then on and off as we head toward tomorrow morning. that's going to be the bulk of it. and then behind that more scattered showers, a possibility. some thunderstorms into tomorrow evening. even a slight chance of a few more showers as we head in towards sunday. so tomorrow, while these temperatures going to be much, much colder numbers low to mid 50's in many parts of the bay area's going to cold out there by the afternoon. the showers kind of on and off throughout the day next couple days. temperatures well below the average we start to warm things up back to spring as we head toward the middle of next week. all right, lawrence,

thank you. gas prices do continue to rise and there may not be any relief in the near future. both the shift from the >> wynter gas blends to the summer blend and more people driving as we get closer to summer. have oil companies hiking up those prices. let's take a look at what you can expect this weekend to pay for a gallon across the bay area. the most expensive is a nap but $5.79. san francisco in sandra fell just a couple cents less than that. followed by oakland and san jose where you can get a gallon of regular gas for around $5.60. the cheapest gas can be found in valais hope fairfield area at $5 and $0.58 earlier today on kron for news at noon, we spoke with the uc berkeley professor about a possible solution for high gas prices. >> best way to beat high gas prices is to make sure that you have a car that gets decent fuel economy because if you can go from 20 miles per gallon to 30 miles per gallon,

that is like cutting your price of gasoline by a 3rd. so its important to think about that when we're buying cars. >> the professor says while the state average is at $5.44, there is a committee investigating why those prices are so high in california compared to the rest of the country. >> bay area bio tech giants genentech and sanofi are laying off hundreds of workers in the next couple of months to nan tech is expected to let go of more than 400 employees. those layoffs will begin in june. sanofi is a french pharmaceutical company and will lay off about 100 employees as it closes its san francisco location. >> work along eastbound highway. 37 in sonoma has been rescheduled due to weather. caltrans. well, now repave the road over the following 2 weekends, april 19th and 26th work will begin at 09:00pm on those fridays and open back up

on those mondays at 04:00am. restrooms at the rest area along the golden gate bridge in sausalito are expected to be closed for at least 2 and a half months starting this upcoming monday, caltrans is scheduled to start a maintenance project on those restrooms. there will be temporary portable toilets in the meantime, that rest area will remain open throughout the construction. >> coming up, the warriors host the pelicans at chase with huge playoff implications on the line. erin wilson is live at chase with all of the highlights. postgame reaction and what it means going forward.
