apartments which is close to ryan steam academy, which is an elementary school. the person was apparently shooting a gun and was then shot by police and then was taken to the hospital. they have life-threatening injuries tonight after getting shot by those police officers. no officers, though, were hit by gunfire. they tell us a gun was recovered at the scene and police are going to be on that scene for several hours. so expect any delays if you're going to be in that area. to some other news tonight, the sentencing hearing for david de pap the man who attacked nancy pelosi's husband has since been reopened. the court did not give a did not give it up at the chance to make a statement where he was sentenced on friday. that's a requirement for federal criminal procedures. prosecutors notified the court after noticing this mistake, the paps lawyers filed an appear that same day. the air is unlikely to affect his 30 year sentence. but it does give him the chance to ask for leniency. the hearing will resume on may 28th. a sad

night for raider nation. mister rader himself, jim otto has died the hall of fame center known for his durability litany of injuries joined the team and its first season in the american football league. back in 1960, and he was a fixture on the team for the next 15 years. he never missed a game because of his injuries competing in 210 consecutive regular season games and 308 straight total contests despite undergoing 9 operations on its knees during his playing career. he was believed to have undergone more than 30 rather 50 operations most because of football-related injuries. jim otto was 86 years old. happening tomorrow. 2 major roads in the bay area will reopen tomorrow morning. eastbound lanes of highway 37 will be reopening between sonoma and solano counties. this was the final full weekend closures. good news for commuters and a portion of

runners about what makes this such a remarkable longstanding tradition. >> thousands of people woke up early sunday for bay to breakers. race is 113 year-old tradition in san francisco. you know, i think it's probably one of the a long-standing traditions in san francisco. participants gathered on main street around 8 in the morning to walk jog and run to ocean beach on the other end of the city, was like super positive energy. it's his first is yeah, it was fantastic time. definitely saw all of san francisco coming together. a lot of clock ticked rooms, the costumes at the quirky 12 k run never disappoint this san francisco couple. gina and brad dressed up as hot dogs. we money and really recognizable really ran the whole race. and everyone was dog and my kids than ever.

and it's just plain that these girls dressed up as the inflatable tube man. often people dress up in group costumes, whether it be traffic cones or minions was really fun. everyone came out out it's a super >> yeah, really good vibe. lots of partying on the side. bay to breakers at its peak used to be the largest road race in the world with 100,000 people participating. race director kyle buyers says they're starting to see registration numbers rebound from the pandemic. 21,000 people registered this year, which is after about, you know, 20% from last year. so not quite. >> pre-pandemic numbers yet, but definitely trending in the right direction. myers says they work to ensure everyone is safe while having fun with alcohol checkpoints along the route and patrols. yeah, we have our own private security companies and then we work with very, very closely with sfpd crews could be seen cleaning up as people continue to party in the panhandle.

know, clear out notice and was more sunny today. so you can see it on our satellite and radar. you could just see all the cloud cover just offshore and making way for some clear skies. so here is start of your week. upper 70's and then you'll notice a heat spike. it looks like tuesday looks like one of the warmest days in lynn expected to reach. 84 degrees will remain seasonably cool around the base in the low 70's and low 60's. back to you. >> we're following some breaking news tonight. iranian officials saying they have found the body of the president and prime minister at a helicopter crash. officials say the crash happened in a mountainous region sunday afternoon on a visit to the northwest border. it took 12 hours to find them after searching through dense fog and cold temperatures. we're going to be sure to keep you updated as we learn more information about this situation. now to the latest on the israel and hamas war, more trucks carrying needed supplies to refugees in the gaza strip have been making their way across the pier, which was built by the united

states, the operation's to transport aid resuming this weekend after israel's restrictions on border crossings along with ongoing fighting had brought a halt to the flow of food and other supplies. the latest shipment is the first in operation that american military officials are hoping will scale up to 150 truckloads a day. and all this comes as the president delivered the commencement address from morehouse college in atlanta this morning. it was his first major appearance in front of college students since protests over the war in gaza have spread on campuses across the country. gaynor hall has the story. >> at the commencement ceremony today for morehouse college. some graduates turned their backs while president biden spoke a silent protest over his handling on the war in gaza. biden said he's working to secure an immediate cease-fire and bring lasting peace to the region is one of the hardest, most complicated problems in the world. there's nothing easy about. >> i know what i heard and

taken to the hospital. he's expected survive the names of the victims have not been released. the motive and circumstances are still under investigation. sean diddy combs is breaking his silence after a now viral video was released capturing him brutally beating his ex-girlfriend at a hotel in los angeles back in 2016 in a video posted on social media. combs says he hit rock bottom. rachel menitoff has the latest. >> so side. >> a seemingly remorseful, sean diddy combs appears in an edited instagram video apologizing for his actions. he's referring to this surveillance taken from a los angeles hotel in 2016 where the hip-hop mogul is seen punching kicking and violently dragging his then girlfriend, cassie ventura. >> i take full responsibility for my actions in that video. discussed. >> kathy sued her acts in november, alleging years of physical, emotional and abuse. they settled a day later. now

some of the entertainment industry are reacting to diddy's viral video model emily renda taos ski commented on the video writing, quote, monster rapper and longtime rival $0.50 re posted a clip of the video and said sarcastically, quote, now i'm sure puffy didn't do it. he is innocent. this proves nothing. this is what his lawyers are going to say. aubrey o'day also condemned her former mentor saying did he did not apologize to kasey. he apologized to the world for seeing what he did. diddy is still facing for civil lawsuits, claiming misconduct and illegal activity. his la and states were also rated ktla. legal analyst allison triessl says combs can't be charged for the assault. seen here, but the video can be used in his pending litigation. >> this apology from p diddy is not only too little too as an aid mission. don't hurt

him in future cases down the line. >> that was rachel menitoff reporting to us from los angeles tonight, the sacramento county sheriff's office is increasing enforcement on rivers and lakes this summer. the goal is for deputies to patrol 300 miles of waterways. officials reminding everyone you must have a life jacket for each person on board your boat and kids 12 and under must wear them at all times. it is legal for people on a boat to drink alcohol. but you can't be the driver. another point thing to keep in mind with current snow belt, the water's going to be a lot colder than during the summer months. >> could be 100 degrees outside. but the water can still be 57 degrees, which which is pretty shocking on the enough exposure could potentially cause hypothermia >> and this warning comes as a sacramento firefighters rescued a man who fell out of a kayak on the american river today crews received a call around 4.15 this afternoon

bring you some sunshine. we will be starting off the day monday in the upper 40's and low 50's. so 49 for you and santa rosa. 52 over in the south bay and san jose. 51 for you ia san francisco in 47 over in half moon bay 45 in redwood city. we will be warming up to the upper 70's. so we may see a couple 80's in places like santa rosa. you're flirting with 80 same with you. livermore and morgan hill. 65 degrees for san francisco. the coast here notice half moon bay. we'll remain in the upper 50's. so still seasonably cool before we will be cooling down later this week. you will see that on the 7 day forecast. so mill valley you'll see you'll be in the low 70's open. low 70's. and as you make your way inland, warmer concord, you could be upper 70's 80's. we will see more rounds of winds, particularly stronger around the coast and our highest peaks here. so overnight you'll see a pop here that sea breeze kicking up. 23 miles per hour in san francisco. we will start today, but some

eventually burned up over the atlantic ocean. lot of videos of this on social media, which was a pretty cool to see all the angles. all right. weol, right now, cleanup efforts are underway in houston where crews are still working on restoring power after torrential rains and hurricane force winds left several people dead and hundreds of thousands of others in the dark energy officials warn that it could take at least a week to get back up and running. crews are still out assessing the damage it's going to take them some time to replace equipment, including massive transmission lines, which were knocked down during those 100 mile per hour. wind gusts. this could mean another day of government offices being closed in canceled classes for some on monday. and while crews are working on restoration, much of the city is also cleaning up. >> on glass house on glasses and they're over the place. what they've cleaned up, much of it. >> well, that work is happening amid a smog warning and really high temperatures.

forecasters are predicting highs around 90 by the start of the week with heat indexes reaching triple, do it digits by midweek. the bay area is getting ready to celebrate harvey milk this wednesday for harvey milk day and celebrated every year on his birthday. he was the first openly politician in california. here in 94 years old milk tragically became a martyr. not long after taking office and the san francisco board of supervisors and becoming california's first openly elected official milk was assassinated at city hall in 1978 each year. may 22nd serves as an opportunity to serve and celebrate the lgbtq+. community. the harvey milk lgbtq democratic club is actually a planning on hosting a mayoral town hall mayor london breed and her challengers in the upcoming election supervisor. aaron peskin supervisor ahsha safa e and former interim mayor mark farrell and nonprofit executive daniel lurie are all

to kron. 4 news at 10. we're tracking some developing news tonight. iranian officials say they have found the body of the president and foreign prime minister. >> at the helicopter crash, iran says that crash happened in a mountainous regions sunday afternoon on a visit to the northwest border and took 12 hours for them to find the bodies after searching through dense fog and cold temperatures. according to an iranian news agency, officials say the helicopter lost communication about 30 minutes into their flight. we're going to keep you updated as we learn more information about this situation. and this comes as the full-scale israeli operation in rafah is looming. u.s. officials are trying to stave it off in the meantime, a body of a 4th hostage was recovered. robert sherman reports. >> national security adviser jake sullivan making a highly anticipated trip here to israel today where he met with top leadership with a couple of focus is at the forefront. first of all, the possible operation in rafah, u.s. has

been clear that they don't want to see the idf going in and they like to dissuade the israelis from a full-scale invasion there for fear of the humanitarian situation in that southern gazan city. but second, i want to come up with a plan for governorship in gaza after the war is over. that does not include an israeli occupation. us fears without a plan, a vacuum up that will be created in gaza and hamas will be able to fill the void and retake control. prime minister netanyahu said he doesn't want to discuss this until hamas has been destroyed. we've already seen some hamas battalions reforming in gaza in recent days. the pressure to come up with a plan not just external, but also coming from one of the prime minister's top rivals. benny gantz, who made this threat it so much of war cabinet must form a six-point plan by june 8th to bring home our hostages to eliminate the hamas regime. >> and demarcate the gaza strip to ensure israeli security control. if you choose and lead the entire nation into an abyss, we will choose to resign from the

fremont and then notice the coast will still remain seasonably cool here at 58 degrees over by half. and they 65 in san francisco and wind speeds now. so over by the coast, you know, the typical sea breeze here we have the return of the onshore flow. this wind coming from the sea. that's going to be cooling things down for a bit over by the coast pretty calm, mostly set for that. the higher peaks there and parts of the coast. but we will start calm with calm winds tomorrow morning and then usual time in the at late afternoon and evening hours. you'll see a pop in the winds and then it will calm down later on in the evening. so here is the tenant and outlook where you can see we're going to sit in this quiet period for quite sometime worth a slight heat risk for you inland on tuesday. but then next week, memorial day weekend, we could see temperatures go down to the 60's low 60's and then they mentally rebound come the holiday on monday. back to all right. thanks a lot. we've got fun. summer news rafting companies are going to be running on the truckee river near tahoe city this season

>> it's noteworthy because last year they were unable to do that. the water flowing out of the tahoe dam into the truckee river is regulated by the federal government and the flows have been high enough to allow for rafting, even with all the snow we had last season. the flow from the dam never met the criteria. >> we have tons of snow. and because of that, the runoff was really heavy. so because so much runoff with hitting reno, they weren't letting any water out of the lake up here. just minimum flow, which isn't rest or aft. >> well, this year, lake tahoe is approaching maximum capacity, which is the first time it's been this high since 2019 water regulators let rafting companies know they can run from july through august, truckee river raft company in truckee river rafting are now taking reservations for both of those months. and depending on the conditions, the rafting season might start a little bit sooner. if regulators decide to increase the flows early. a huge part of the bay area. is the tech injury industry. but
