this is. 11. now at 11, a high school graduation ceremony ends with gunshots.

>> police in oakland have confirmed 2 people were injured. 2 other people have been detained. good evening, everybody. thanks for being with us tonight on kron. 4 news at 11, i'm grant lotus and i'm noelle bellow. those shots rang out around 7.45. this evening inside skyline. high school kron four's dan thorn joining us live from campus aaron oakland tonight with the very latest and you know, yeah, it was still a number of police officers out here on scene tonight after what was a terrifying evening for graduating high school students and also their families. after that shooting. >> we just learned from were detained and also 2 ple people were injured by gunfire. that shooting began around 7.45. this evening as that ceremony was going on. >> we also got an update from police telling us that shooting with the people that they are there are other people that they might be after as and some sort fight may have led up to multiple

gunshots. ringing of those 2 victims that we've learned about. it was a man and a woman, both adults who are hit by gunfire. the school was then put on lockdown as officers arrived here on scene video that we've seen here showing just a chaotic scene, emergency responders, police cruisers, ambulances at the school and lots of students leaving the school as lieutenant robert trivino with opd says that they have 2 people in custody right now, but they're still looking for other possible suspects. all there are some reports some kind of that is being looked into. >> we do know there multiple suspects, but we're trying to identify exactly how many solder >> yeah. >> and we know that there were a lot of families here for what should have been a celebration and some students also telling us that they heard those gunshots ringing out as the ceremony was happening. and they say that

there were people running and then students are being taken to the gym locker room for safety. a lot everybody was >> you know, graduation pushed a run first. i thought i was there with those part they had like a bad man. and like after that, as you see, everyone started ready use it. it was like 20 shots. was like. good >> yet it's really an unfortunate scene here this evening for those graduating students and their families. the police did not confirm how many shots were fired. they did say, though, that this is an isolated incident and they also say that the school right now is clear and safe at this time. and as for the conditions of those suspects, we've been told that they are expected to survive. but of course, this is developing situation. we're still working to get some more information about those other possible

suspects that are out there. and also what went on here tonight that led up to that eventually shooting while in grant. back to it. as like the shooting was actually in the high school. >> and a fight may have precipitated it. yeah, there was some sort of fight that led up to it. some sort of argument that that may have happened. we don't know how many parties were involved in that. >> or how many shooters were how many people even had guns on them at the time of the shooting? again, we just know that there were 2 people that were detained, 2 people that were injured. and that's the information that we've been given. and in terms of other suspects being out there, police are still working on getting not squared away and it is adults that were injured, not students who are graduating this evening. >> that's what we've been told. we haven't been given age or description on on those victims. we've just been told that it was a man and a woman that were injured by gunfire.

and that were in stable condition at the hospital essentially meaning that they are expected to survive. >> such a shame what you want to hear those families. on such an important night. all right. then don't live in oakland for us tonight. thank you, dan. >> people living in an encampment in sandra speaking out tonight saying a nearby business has been blasting loud music at them for the last 3 nights. yeah, it's been loud in a federal judge is now involved and has ordered the business to stop playing that music kron. 4 sarah stinson reports. >> people who live in this encampment say over the weekend music was blaring coming from the business next door they say was happening in the overnight hours. one man even described it as psychological warfare saying he's relieved to federal court, ordered the music to stop. i'm thankful. >> that's how loud it was. rock concert about the second and 3rd night i was unable to

sleep at bruce moved into this sand refill encampment last year following a series of unfortunate events. >> i stopped to get medications for mental illness in barstow, california and mike rupp was stolen while it was in their says music started playing loudly overnight friday from the business east bay tire i called the police tend the police did nothing about so he decided to call homeless advocate paulsen, who came down to the encampment to start documenting it would take took good decibel readings of the >> of the sound. and we measured that the metal the decibels were between 5218 decibels in general. it was far above the center-field noise that was. >> it was illegal. >> on monday 1000 filed for a restraining order against east bay tire co a judge ordered the business to stop playing the music immediately house and says that higher company's response was the music was coming from their security

system along the fence. we reached out to east bay tire co, but they did not respond to a request for comment calls and says they have another court hearing for the music order late next month. get to what they're trying to do. they say >> we haven't been good neighbors to them. they didn't come up with any police reports. >> the music stopping may be a win for this encampment, but they are still fighting the city to stay here on june 24th. there will be another federal hearing against the city if saying or fell winds from people who live here would be kicked i'm sarah stinson reporting in sandra fell kron. 4 news. >> new at 11 road safety was top of mind at the state capitol today as a new bill aimed at regulating autonomous vehicles passed the state assembly that bill would make autonomous cars report on collisions accidents and malfunctions. the dmv. would that make that data available to the public? san francisco assemblymember matt haney says the goal is to make the

drive-in far around. the bay area will be okay. weather-wise. weather is looking ok, we're just going to see some cooler weather work its way in. but >> things get busy out there on the roads this afternoon. and you can expect more so as we head toward tomorrow, of course, a lot of folks traveling through the airports. they've had some delays due to construction that the sfo right now things are open and clear. no delays at sfo, oakland or san jose, but be prepared. you may see some delays at sfo. they've been doing some construction out there on the tarmac. but the meantime, the weather pattern is beginning to change that nice ridge of high pressure that brought us some mid to upper 80's in the warmer spots this week. with that started, we can you see some high clouds moving in overhead. we'll see more low clouds and fog on the way as we head through the night tonight and tomorrow morning. so the seabreeze kind of kicking into gear. 2 should be a nice day. tomorrow, though, we'll see plenty of clouds on and off throughout the day. expect cooler temperatures. much cooler for the holiday weekend. we'll have more on that coming up a few minutes. sounds good. thanks, lawrence. so busy day for firefighters here in antioch. fire season is starting this one.

>> towards around 5 o'clock tonight off slayton ranch road. we haven't gotten any details about how big it ended up and containment, but we understand that it's not a huge issue around the same time, though, another fire started near marina plaza. that one burned about 5 acres and is now out. this is a rescue in the north bay guy fell about 20 feet. it was rock climbing and then took a plunge. marin county firefighters posted this video of the chopper rescue that happened just after 1 o'clock this afternoon. this is just south of stinson beach. firefighters say the man rescued sustains just moderate injuries. >> the owner of 2 long-standing restaurant at fisherman's wharf is now suing san francisco alleging the city failed to do its job of maintaining the warmth and the lawsuit. the owner of fisherman's grotto and tarentino says the port of sf has not brought the area to

code to protect against erosion or earthquake standards. the suit also blames homelessness and crime in the area for preventing the restaurant from being successful. they're asking for financial reimbursement for recent improvements made to the 2 restaurants. the city attorney's office has released a statement in response saying, quote, over the last year herringbone the owner has attempted a number of maneuvers to get out of paying the 1.7 million dollars. it owes the city in back. rent. this appears to be yet another attempt. however, once we are served with the lawsuit, we will review it and respond in court. >> i will not lay off or city workers, most of whom are oakland residents. >> at a news conference today, oakland mayor sheng thao made it clear her new budget will not lead to cuts for city job, serve public safety. oakland is facing a 117 million dollar deficit this year and 175 million dollar deficit for next year to help close the

gap. the mayor is also proposing hiring freeze on nearly 100 positions that are not currently filled. none of these are public. none of these is public safety positions. >> i will protect city services. my budget will not reduce public safety. my budget will not close fire houses or libraries or recreation center or animal services. i will not cut cops. >> the mayor's formal budget proposal will be unveiled tomorrow and then we'll go to the oakland city council to be voted on. >> there's plenty of snow up there. we're going to have multiple it's says skiing is still great. and i think it's going to be awesome throughout rest this weekend. still to come, it might be the unofficial start to summer. but this weekend you still have a chance to the slopes. the latest from calais 6 plus. >> i hope they do go on strike while we're over there. gets knocked. sure thing. why may

>> wild story here. police in antioch are looking for a guy after he rob people of nearly $90,000 sees 2 employees of the contra costa county fair. we're trying to deposit the cash. police say the employees were taking the money to a bank on summersville wrote it. 2 in the morning on monday. you know, after the fair, that's when the suspect pressed a gun to the back of

one of them. and then got their backpack full of cash. police have only describe the suspect is the guy wearing dark clothing and a mask. so not much to go on. their officers are looking now through more evidence to see if they can somehow identify him. >> a possible strike could put san francisco's famous alcatraz tour in jeopardy this summer. the union alcatraz workers united say they've been fighting for a contract without the tri-city cruises for nearly 2 years. now negotiations between the 2 sides ended today without a new contract. the workers operate the only ferry service to and from alcatraz and voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. today. the union says they want a fair deal. >> want to get this thing done as soon as possible. we do not want to advance disadvantage the community. and, you know, folks that are trying to get to the island, but we have to take care of our members and, you know, get this fairground.

>> a statement to kron 4 from alcatraz city cruises reads in part, quote, we're disappointed the union would threaten our passengers, partners and the community with the potential destruction of the services. please take comfort if there is a labor dispute. it will have no impact on our operations. end quote, as of now, there is no set date when the 2 sides will meet again for negotiations or when a strike could happen. >> this memorial day weekend is your last chance to hit the slopes this season? palisades tahoe will be having their final full weekends operating. the resort is known for having tahoe's longest ski season and this weekend they say they're expecting big crowds. >> we're able to use our technology are hard working keep this not going. and we have the passion for it. so it's pretty reliable that houses tahoe continues to have the longest season in lake tahoe. >> palisades last day will be monday. and here with more on what to expect, conditions wise is our chief

meteorologist lawrence karnow. pretty cool scan almost in the june. yeah. that great. yeah. it looks like if you're headed up there, though, be careful. we're going to see those slushy conditions develop as you head toward the middle of the day. temperatures get so warm. so you want to ski in the morning. >> and maybe do a little water skiing in the afternoon as we're going to see those warmer temperatures kind of settling in especially toward monday. but watch out who we've had some pop-up thunderstorms across the high mountains and we're likely going to see that return again tomorrow. maybe some more thunderstorms are isolated with a dangerous in the afternoons. think of mostly quiet on saturday. that should be a decent day up there on sunday. another chance of some thunderstorms come rolling in with the temperatures going to be nearly 70 degrees by the afternoon and melting that snow up the doors close going right now, northbound on the golden gate bridge. some haze out there right now. some patchy fog trying to form along the coastline. temperatures a little cool coast side, 40's and 50's. now. 52 now in the san francisco that cool marine air starting to work its way inland. so you can see some of the valley. 52. now the more

56 in concord looks like the next couple days. temperatures really going to be backing off high pressure started weekend. you've got a cold front dropped over the top of that ridge. and that is going to be just enough. 2 crews that marine layer and bring that further on shore. so tomorrow, yeah, we're going to back off on the numbers just a bit 50's into much of san francisco on the coastline. probably going to see lingering clouds all day long. some cool temperatures there breezy too in the afternoon. so through some of the mountain gaps in the san bruno south, san francisco, blustery, maybe some 30 plus mile an hour gusts by tomorrow afternoon. 63 degrees in palo alto mirror, looking at 60's much of the south. they were just a couple days ago there in the 80's. 70's still well inland by tomorrow. so it's just warm temperatures to be found. but i think as we get to saturday, these temperatures probably going to have early in the 60's from the hot spots as these numbers, really the cooldown least for the first part of the weekend. there's a good thing, though, after we get through saturday, which will be the coolest day in quite a while. temperatures start to warm up on sunday and by monday, memorial day you had some festivities will should be a great day. temperatures back in the 70's and the 80's. said you were
