weekend travels. and the bottle rock music festival is just hours away from starting. we're live in napa with a preview of all the fun. >> from the bay station, you're watching kron. at noon. >> thanks so%much for joining us here on kron. 4 news at noon. i'm stephanie lin. >> developing news now. a shooting disrupts the high school graduation ceremony in the east bay, injuring at least 2 people kron four's to recess to joins us live now in the newsroom with the latest details on this, theresa, i stephanie, at this hour, we have reports of 2 people taken to the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds from multiple shots fired for multiple suspects. here's what we know right now. around 8 o'clock last night, there were reports of gunfire at skyline high school in oakland, hundreds of packed a school to attend a high school graduation. >> police say that the shots came from inside the school so that they race to that area.

the school was immediately put on lockdown as the search was conducted. 2 victims were discovered injured and both taken by paramedics to the hospital. they are identified as 2 adults. one male, one female. now, according to police, those in attendance say that it was a chaotic scene. >> 1005 and they had like a bad man. unlike after that, as you see, everyone started running. >> it was like 20 shots. those graduation. >> chest. >> now, police say that they did not find any suspects and that this is very much an active investigation. we have reached out to the oakland police department and the school district. they say that they plan to talk to us about this matter and a little bit in the newsroom. theresa back to stephanie theresa, thank you so much for your reporting. also this afternoon, police in san francisco continue to

investigate a shooting in the bay view area where they say at least one officer fired his gun. >> citizen video shows heavy police presence in the area of jennings street in carroll avenue on thursday night. officers responding to reports of someone with a rifle. when police got to the scene, they found the suspect. officer then fired their gun. the suspect was not shot but was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. and we're learning new details about the contra costa county % fair workers robbed over the weekend. we now know they were carrying nearly $90,000 in cash. of philippe djegal reports. >> long after the last visitors exited the contra costa county fair at the event park in antioch. police say 2 fair employees were tasked with taking the money collected from admissions fees to the bmo bank depository on summersville road to drop off the catch. they parked in the bank. lot at around monday morning as they were in the process of opening a box. >> vehicle pulled up. suspect

exited approach. the 2 victims >> the bag, which is a backpack full of cash. >> and their cell phones, antioch police investigations. lieutenant desmond bittner says the lone suspect was armed and pressed the gun into one of the victims backs were told the loss was a right around $88,000. so to be exact has 87,000, 800 and some change. the suspect left in a vehicle and has not been found. all we have and the suspect was a unknown race. male. we're in dark clothing and wearing a mask. we stopped by the administrative offices here at the event park with questions about the incident. but the ceo and manager job ringle declined to comment. it's unclear why the employees were told to deposit the money so early in the dark morning. lieutenant bittner says investigators are looking into whether or not the victims were followed from the event part to the bank. and if any fair employees helped commission the robbery. are investigators looking trying to find, you know, if we have

any similar robberies with similar within the past few months and will you know, we did when come up and investigate best. we can call police if you were in the area during the robbery and can shed light on what happened. >> investigators are in the process of obtaining and reviewing surveillance video that may have captured the incident in antioch, philippe djegal kron. 4 news. >> it is said to be a busy week for attorneys representing david de pap the man convicted in federal court of attacking nancy pelosi's husband. pup will be re-sentenced on tuesday for that conviction. but at the state level, things are just getting started kron four's. ken wayne spoke with attorney michael cardoza for perspective. >> the judge in the federal case said she made a mistake. what happened? well, what she did was after she's sentenced a pop. she realized she didn't give him the opportunity to make a statement to the court and then federal court, i think over 80% of defendants

want to say something to the court. one of the big things i noted was that the prosecution after the case said he showed no remorse at all. and a lot of people sort of giggled at that. and so we'll wait a minute. didn't give him a chance to show any remorse or to talk. so basically it's not a small point. it's not going to reverse this case. it's not going i think have much effect would be shocked if the judge after listening hip-hop, if he decides to talk whether she reduces that or not. and he still has a state case which could add more prison time to what he's already. >> yeah, well, i i when i was a prosecutor a lot of state prosecutor to case and the federal government had a case they would often times just drop in and say, ok, you've got convicted in state court or vice versa. in this case, they're not doing that. a lot of people are asking.

>> well, it's not double jeopardy. you're being tried for the same thing is really not because the state has added 4, 5 different counts. one of which is, of course, the attempted murder case and issue is, are elements to for improving the cases in the state court in the elements are different and federal the south, the what's going on in state court. so i don't think jumper double jeopardy will hold. >> and we'll be following both the federal and state cases on air and online at kron 4 dot com. let's talk about our forecast now as we take a live look outside at coit tower. can see that breeze ruffling through the tree out there. and with that camera. >> let's check in now with meteorologist kyla grogan. there breezy is going to be our forecast today. i'm happy to say that even though we're breezy, we don't have a lot of delays happening. we do have about a 23 minute delay at sfo. we talked about this yesterday. they've got some construction on one of the runway. so that kind of contributes to that. but everybody else looking good running on time if you're headed out this weekend. but

yes, stephanie pointed out it is a little breezy out there. we've also had some clouds start to move in and we're starting to see this transition of our weather pattern. so already quite gusty here. we're looking about 21 miles per hour. sustained winds right now san francisco. 22 in fairfield. 21 in congress. a it's a little bit higher in a little more widespread than we were this time yesterday. stormtracker 4 showing you some of those clouds that are rolling in. and again, that's going to be what happens as we go throughout the day today, too. so we get the onshore flow. we get the clouds, we get cooler temperatures and these the that these or other that at the currents that we're at right now that 53 degrees in downtown san francisco. 65 in antioch. 68 in santa rosa 50's around the bay. as you can see about 65 in san jose. so highs today will be very different from yesterday in some spots are going to be dropping about 10 degrees. so be prepared for that. you don't see any 80's on the map today. we're looking out for those low maybe mid 70's. for those of you who are inland. some just 50's and low 60's elsewhere. so for my battle rockers that are going to be heading out

for the next couple of days to make sure you take that jacket tonight because we are going to be breezy. we are going to be cooler than we have been. we're going to start that way also on saturday. so be ready for that. the early part of the day. now, the good news is even though these temperatures are going to be quite chilly on saturday, we will start to get that sunshine back as we work our way into the afternoon. and that sets us up for quite nice sunday. we've got sunshine and we start to rebound a bit with temperatures and on the other side of that is our memorial day and certainly looking good for that to all be back in just a bit. we'll talk more about our 7 day forecast. all right. wonderful. and as kelly just mentioned there, a bottle rock is officially in full swing. the gates open at 11, 30 this morning and the festival spotlights local food and drinks and of course, big music acts. >> and that's where we find kron four's. charles clifford live for us in napa. charles, any acts that you're looking forward to hearing yourself? >> i get to that in just a second here. but first, i want to kind of set the stage. i'm inside the venue here at

bottle. rock is a fantastic place to watch concerts. you know, this is sort of the kickoff for the bay area's music festival scene right now. i want to show you over this is kind of the main lawn area and then back there. that's the main stage grace bowers is about to go on there in a few minutes. let's going take a look at some video kind of show you around ben to talk about what they're doing this year. there are 75 bans playing on 5 different stages. there is a lot of food, a lot of gourmet food. they really well here. bottle rock and then there are also a lot of things to explore. like one cabanas. they've got a record shop that they've set up this year. you can buy records in there it's going to be a lot of fun in other headliners for this year's festival are tonight. it is stevie nicks. >> megan, thee stallion and then tomorrow night, saturday night, saturday night as pearl jam, one of my favorite and then on sunday it sheeran and queens of the stone age. now, saturday, sunday, those days are sold out. but i did see some tickets still for sale for today, starting about $242 and go on that festival website by there. if you're

headed up the bottle rock here over the next couple of days might want to keep in that the traffic is probably going to be terrible. i mean, this is memorial day weekend. a lot of people trying to get to lots of different places. you can take a shuttle bus to hear to napa if subtle buses running from a san francisco, sacramento, san jose open all over the place. you go on the website again. look, they're trying to find some way to get here. they also encourage carpooling. there is some vip parking here. if you want to shell out a few bucks for parking, probably get pretty but if you're going to leave and go up here to napa from pretty much anywhere, just give yourself a little extra time. so that's the very latest here in the north bay, charles clifford kron, 4 news. all right, charles, we can expect to see you front and center for pearl jam right? >> all right. thanks so much. people across the bay area are set to travel this memorial day weekend. triple a says nearly 44 million people across the country will be on the roads. >> kron four's will tran tells us what travelers can expect heading into their vacation.

>> if you are taking off from memorial day weekend. congratulations. obviously you have a long weekend ahead of you. unfortunately, gas prices not kind to us in california compared to the rest of the country at this walnut creek gas station, $5 and $0.39, which is a lot higher than the state average of 5.17, little bit of good news last week in our state, it was $5 and $0.22 and expect 44 million americans will be taking off 50 miles or more for memorial day weekend. so we've been playing a game all morning long as far as travel tips when it comes to kron 4. so let me pass along some of my travel tips. lord knows i've done so many road trips as a child. and as a father number one, tip, nothing is more annoying to me. then having to turn around or pull over, turn

around. if we just started our trip, pull over. if it's a 30 minutes into our trip in my kids have to go to the bathroom. so make sure everybody goes to the bathroom before you go, of course, bring snacks drive in shifts, especially if you have multiple adults in the car. it's only fair if everybody shares in the driving number 4 of my list. this is a no, no. don't touch my radio. the driver, i get to choose the play list. don't touch my radio. and number 5, see rule number one, go to the bathroom before you leave. and then another tip i forgot to mention. it is an american to be on a diet for a three-day weekend. so make sure you eat, eat, eat. enjoy your three-day weekend. >> we can talk about diet on tuesday. back to >> all right. well, thank you. well, coming up in east bay woman gets her truck back

>> there was so much garbage ask stephanie, go see toups about her blue toyota tacoma and she'll call the trucker prized possession. that's why it was so upsetting when she could not find her keys after shopping at this petco in castro valley, she had triple and lock the vehicle in the parking lot but no keys inside. that's when she feared her keys had been stolen being dot all the information in my truck. >> just in case somebody came back and stole that. sure. not 9.30, that night. her and 2 accomplices came back and stole my truck. she called 9-1-1 to report that a truck had been stolen. detective kristen fegley and the alameda county sheriff's regional auto theft task force began investigating. >> searching for a blonde woman caught on surveillance video picking up to see toups keys from the ground. i think suspect just saw this crime of opportunity. she found these keys and just >> there's just driving around as if it was only able. detective fegley says the woman was identified, arrested and charged with felony

vehicle theft. though the sheriff's office is not naming the suspect, the truck she allegedly stole was returned to its owner. >> you can understand when you're a victim like that. you know, i like i said, i went through 2 whole nights and not sleeping. and just imagining all the bad things. police using the crime as a reminder to always be vigilant. detective bagley says keep your keys on you and vehicle locked because thieves often look for crimes of opportunity in castro valley. rob nesbitt kron. 4 news. >> let's check in on our forecast as we take a live look outside at the golden gate bridge. traffic moving along nicely there, some blue skies and some fluffy clouds as well. let's check in now with cuyler for more. hey there. yeah. so we do have some clouds, more clouds out of the coast today than we had yesterday. but we're getting a little bit of sunshine in half moon bay. no such luck today. lot of gray out there and temperatures reflecting the fact that we are cooling it down today. 50's in san francisco and oakland 60's right now in san jose livermore concord, santa rosa and half moon bay. we're taking that live. look sitting at just 54 degrees. a big

difference in temperatures. this is the difference from 24 hours ago. tim, how so if you're in fairfield, conquer due to 13, 14 degrees cooler. but even around the bay and even at half moon bay, you can see the cool down is very pervasive. this time around to this is a live look from our mount tam cam. and you can see that cloud cover is taking over. so highs today. very different from yesterday to the tune of about 5 to 10 degrees, even more in some spots because you're just looking out for 70's today in santa rosa 50's in san francisco, upper 60's in concord and san jose going from 77 to just 65 degrees for your high today. also, breezy conditions picking up. so you can see we're a little gusty right now as we go into the afternoon, that's going to be even higher with those numbers. and that continues right into tonight. so be ready for that. if you're driving across bridges, you might feel that high pressure has been in control for the most part, but we have some low pressure dropping and that's why we're starting to see this pattern change and it's going to cool us down. it doesn't look like we'll get anything but a little bit of maybe drizzle out of it. but

if you are in the sierra, you are likely to see some of those sprinkles right now. stormtracker 4 showing you're looking pretty good. here's a look at your extended forecast. that cooldown goes right through saturday and then we'll bounce back pretty nicely on sunday into the holiday on monday, starting the week looking quite nice next week as well. all right. looks great. thank you. 2 years ago today, a gunman killed 19 children and 2 teachers at robb elementary school in uvalde. >> since then, the victims families have pushed for answers and accountability. those efforts continue as the town tries to rebuild. but the effort to build a new school is short. millions of dollars. ryan chandler reports from uvalde. 2 years after tragedy, robb elementary and much of uvalde itself is frozen in time. efforts to move forward and build again have been plagued by delays and deficits as uvalde looks toward its future. they can't build it alone. their next chapter is still searching for support.

>> by those initially showed support but might be getting weary of having their towns synonymous with the mass shooting. again, it's just a casualty of this mass shooting epidemic. we have that transforms towns like you've got a, you know, into pariahs. >> uvalde is looking towards another kind of transformation. a state-of-the-art school breaking ground hoping to welcome the new generation next fall. but the 60 million dollar project relies on private donations and there are 20 million dollars short. why is the state or the city or the federal government? not helping? >> i believe they are hoping some, but as far as trying to get it built quicker, there's a lot of red tape using off federal funds. so when the when the foundation was created was to help. speed up the process, we expected certain monies to be could and some things haven't happened. but i believe that that in the next year and a half, we

should be. >> uvalde. he's used to being underfunded and overlooked. their newest school was built in the 80's. but if they can raise the funds, they hope to build a new chapter out of tragedy. it's not just a cookie cutter school is being put here. that design hours. it was brought up by uvalde individuals. >> for our children. so hopefully it it's something that we can be proud of. >> still ahead, memorial day barbecues are coming with a side of inflation. we take a look at life. for your money

common, they're going to cost you just a little bit more. >> when you go to check out this holiday weekend, the price of ground beef burger up nearly 15% hotdogs. believe it or not, actually stayed about the same price. so that's good. what about their buns? the price per pack went up a tad. and keep in mind, these are all compared to last memorial day prices can't forget the condiments. if you want touch up or maybe mustard, even that's going to cost you just a little bit more. relish lovers. you're going want to look away. the custer ellis is actually up 50% again compared to last memorial day. when you add it all up, the cost on average for average americans as about 10% more at checkout on the bright side, if you're waiting last minute to do your shopping, it might save you some money. right now. it's going to be a little bit higher. >> but i think if you wait maybe the day before, you might see a little bit lower prices, here are some other ways to save just a little bit of money. compare prices a different supermarkets. look for store brands and also don't be sure to use coupons for some of those items. it

just san francisco and moderate but up in eureka and then 60's down in los angeles and santa barbara, notice you don't have any wild 80's inland just in the 70's about 73 in sacramento. here are local temperatures right now. and again, we are cool. we're going to see these temperatures be somewhere in the neighborhood of 5.10, even 12 degrees cooler than they were yesterday and tomorrow. cooling it down further. still. so we do still have some blue skies out there. the wind has been picking up so very breezy conditions that will be the hallmark of our forecast today again tomorrow. we're going to cool down a little bit more as we get into saturday sunday. that sun does return and the temperatures start to pick wanted to mention really quickly that atlantic hurricane season, they put out the names for it and a prediction for the season. these are the names they are expecting that we could have anywhere from 4 to 7 major hurricanes in the atlantic this year, which would make it a pretty aggressive season. that would be category 3 or higher. and one of the things that contributes to this is warmer water temperatures you can see right now if you look to the caribbean, 85 degrees there. that's one of the things that

helps to kind of get things going were also in an el nino year right now, expect a quick turn to la nina in la nina means that it is makes it so that the winds are a little bit more favorable at the upper levels. so it doesn't cut. the storm often allows him to kind of grow and might think why don't we get such activity here will part of it is we have what's called a cold currents are currents run from north to south. where's the caribbean runs from south to north? right. we have a much cooler water temperature here. you can see just 55 degrees off the coast of northern california. so just something interesting for any of my weather watchers out there who enjoy knowing about that stuff. i'll be back in a little bit. going to talk more about travel plans for the weekend in your seven-day forecast. all right. some helpful explainers there. thank you. people living in an encampment in sandra fell are speaking out. they say a nearby business has been blasting loud music at them for the last 3 nights. >> as kron four's, sara stinson reports a federal judge is now involved. >> people who live in this encampment say over the weekend music was blaring coming from the business next
