thankfully in stable condition on a night that should have been only full of joy. some families are now dealing with being the victim. >> of a crime. violence turns a graduation ceremony into a crime scene. it was around 8 thursday evening when 9-1-1 calls rang out, reporting gunfire at skyline. high in oakland, hundreds had packed a school to attend high school graduation. the oakland unified school district tells us graduation had ended, but there were still many people on the field and on campus. the school district now announcing additional safety and security measures for remaining graduation ceremonies. in a statement friday, the district said, quote, what happened after skyline high schools graduation on thursday evening was heartbreaking and absolutely unacceptable. our behavioral health staff is at skyline high today and will continue to provide support to students. staff and families in the days to come. according

to oakland, police is groups relieving thursday's graduation ceremony. a fight broke out in the parking lot with multiple suspects firing from multiple weapons. 2 people injured were taken by paramedics to the hospital. a 3rd person also shot was later found at an area hospital. police say that all victims are adults. those in attendance say it was a chaotic scene. >> 1005 and they had like a bad man. unlike after that, as you see, everyone started running. it was like 20 shots. those light. >> you know, graduation, >> welcome place. tell us that they are actively still looking for shooters. in this case. they are also looking for additional witnesses. they're asking for anyone to come forward to help with this active investigation. reporting in the newsroom. and theresa back to you. theresa, thank you so much. the recall

of alameda county district attorney pamela price is not the only we call east bay- voters might have to decide come this november members with a group called oust oakland unified oakland, united to recall. thao says it has already collected more than 30,000 signatures. just 25,000 are needed to force mayor thao into a recall election this november. recall is happening. >> it is going to be on the november ballot. and voters in oakland will be able to live that. the mayor know that we are not pleased with her leadership. oakland has gotten just worst on practically practically every metric. >> we did reach out to towns office for comment so far have not heard back. the mayor does maintain that crime and homelessness are dropping in oakland, she says over the last year she has overseen the

re implementation of the ceasefire program that would reduce crime. also investments in the city's 9-1-1, if a structure and then increase in neighborhood foot patrols. all right. take a look at this here. a big rig caught on fire on the upper deck of the bay bridge this morning. it happened just east of treasure island and multiple westbound lanes were closed for hours. the fire has been put out. the scene is clear. but right now the left and center lanes remain blocked that big break was carrying produce at the time that it caught on fire. investigators are still trying to figure out how this fire started and will take a live look now here at the huge backup that's going out into the east bay. this is just before the toll plaza at the bay bridge. there. again, the last update we had was that the left and center lanes remain blocked. that's on the upper deck going into san francisco right now. so traffic basically looks like it's at a standstill on this friday busy travel weekend. we're going to keep our eyes on what's happening here in the bay bridge and keep you posted right here on kron 4. you can see those gray clouds

as well as we talk about our forecast for the weekend. we'll turn now to our meteorologist kyla grogan for an update on what's happening outside. yeah. and the clouds are there. at least the weather isn't stopping the traffic in any way. but unfortunately that traffic looks like in a start for a while. we do a little bit better here in san francisco. you can see it's been a mix of sun and clouds. >> got a cruise ship in here. people visiting. it is very breezy out there. so they're getting a real taste of said bay area weather today, 20 miles per hour in san francisco. 23 in fairfield 22 in concord. so these numbers have been going up a bit and you can see we're stormtracker 4 showing some of this cloud cover that's rolled into in particular along the peninsula east bay and the south bay. so you can see these temperatures are a little chilly right now. 66 in san jose. 63 in concord. 56 in downtown san francisco, the sunshine where you saw there on the stormtracker 4, little more prevalent up in the north bay in spots like santa rosa, where they've gotten up to 73 degrees. so as we take a look tonight, we are going to see those clouds continue to increase. we are going to have a little bit of gusty wind as well.

temperatures not bad. so we're looking between 47 54 degrees, but sometimes with that wind, it feels a little bit cooler than it is. and then here we go at the airports. everyone is talking about how this is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. so far so good. we do have that. 23 minute delay at sfo, but all things considered that's not bad. that is generally because they have a little construction of one of the runways be can see our other local airports are all looking pretty good. but as we take a live look from mount tam, you can see the cloud cover is here. this will be the story today tomorrow and then things will be a little bit better forces into sunday. i'll be back in a little bit. we'll talk more about that. back to sounds good. thank you so much. the summer travel season kicks off today for memorial day weekend through labor day. the tsa >> is thinking it's going to be screening a record number of travelers. many of them flying in and out of san francisco bay, oakland, international airport, which is where we find kron 4 suit. philippe djegal. he spoke with people heading in and out of town. >> the flight board is filled

which is at $3. and $0.61 here in california. people are paying 5.17, on average for a gallon of gas. so we'll take a look now at the prices at the pump across the bay area. the cheapest gas you'll find is in solano and santa clara counties. the most expensive is in napa, which is averaging about $5 and $0.48 a gallon for regular gas and over the long memorial day weekend, the chp will be out in full force, looking for unsafe drivers. extra officers will be on the road starting at 6. tonight. law enforcement says last year 46 people died and more than 1100 per arrested for duis during the holiday weekend. this maximum enforcement period will remain in place until midnight on tuesday. there's lots to do memorial day weekend with some. >> festivities now already under way. so coming up, we're going go today. want a bottle rocket check in with those battle rockers. and see how things are going so far in napa. also happening tomorrow. enjoy brews for a great cause.

>> in the north bay, thousands of concertgoers going to napa this weekend for the bottle rock music festival and kron 4 s charles clifford is already there. >> well, here in app on friday, it is the first day of the three-day bottle rock music festival. this really kicks off the beginning of the bay area's a music festival scene for the rest of the

summer. now there are 75 fans playing on 5 different stages. there's a lot of food here. a lot of great gourmet food really well here at bottle rock. and then there are lots of things to explore that got wine cabanas. they've also set up a record shop this year. the headliners for this years festival are on friday night. stevie nicks, megan, thee stallion on saturday, it's pearl jam and then ed sheeran and queens of the stone age on sunday. now everyone here is expecting some really good weather. maybe a little cool over the weekend, but everyone is very excited for what they hope will be. some great shows where you're from and what you most excited about from santa rosa just over the hill and musk's it pearl jam tomorrow. so we have 3 day looking for for tonight's be the next. i was a little worried. it might be cold today, but this is pretty nice. i think today's this holiday tomorrow, there's a little chillier. so will dress in layers like we do in the bay area. so we'll be good. >> now at last check saturday and sunday were sold out. there were still some tickets available for friday, starting about $242 and going to the website. the bottle rock website. it's more information

about that. if you're headed up here to napa, keep in mind, traffic's probably going to be terrible. this is memorial day weekend people, lots of people out on the roadways trying to et to lots of different places. there are some shuttle buses being operated by the venue leaving from san francisco, oakland, sacramento, san jose on the website again, get some more information about that. >> but for now in the north bay, charles clifford kron, 4 news. >> all right. let's talk about that weather for bottle rock. here's a live look in san francisco. now we go to the north bay and napa work. i was going to chat to us it seems like it's going chilly if you're going to go to bring some layers that i was right. we know in the bay area we don't trust the warmth anyway when we get it right to bring the jacket. but tonight going to start off with a jacket, folks, because it's already a little chilly today. >> but it's going to be a good time. so if you are headed out there, you know, it's in the 60's right now. we're not going get much warmer than that. so tonight and tomorrow, 1st, half of the day are going to be very cool and cloudy. so just be prepared for that. things do get better 2nd half of saturday and then sunday is

looking good. we'll start to pick those temperatures up. but right now in napa, it's just 66 degrees. so it is a little cool. and obviously once the sun drops off there at about 08:15pm, tonight, it's getting a whole lot cooler. 56 in downtown san francisco. we're at 66 in and san jose about 73 in santa rosa. this is the difference in temperatures from 24 hours ago to now. so, yes, you're not a you're not you're you're hit feeling it because it's actually accurate, especially here in concord where it's 18 degrees cooler right now than it was this time yesterday. also, we've got the wind to contend with her very gusty tonight. we'll see that continue throughout the night tonight. so the evening will be a little cool and a little bit windy and certainly a chance. just chance. a little drizzle overnight, too. so we've been under the influence of high pressure. that's what's kept us with the kind of nice sunny skies. nice temperatures. now we've got low pressure that's rolling in. that's changing everything. the temperature profile, the cooler moister air mass and certainly the onshore push of wind that we're starting to see. so as we take a look at stormtracker 4, you see where that low

pressure kind of pressing those clouds in bringing a little bit of that moisture in as well as i show you through future cast. you can see this moves in tonight. more clouds expected and then we get into the overnight early morning hours. i think that's where we have a little drizzle, if any. and then by saturday afternoon, this is the good news. it clears out and we kind of stay that way with the exception of a few clouds on sunday morning and monday morning. other than that, we're looking really good. so for memorial day celebrations on monday, if we have anyone is going to commemorating memorial day, 66 degrees and sunshine in san francisco. that will be some pretty good weather for that in inland will be up to about 79 degrees. so again, any of those any of those commemorations that are happening on monday? good weather for that. good weather to begin next week as well. it sounds great. nintendo's opening up an official store in san francisco. the company announced its plans today open up a store in union square. >> the company says it will be a place for wide range of visitors to experience the world of nintendo, its products and characters. the store is set to open in 2025.

and this will be nintendo's second official store. the others in new york city. nintendo's announcement coming at a time when many retailers have closed their union square locations. in honor of cow animals first ever. california adopt a pet day east bay spca is hosting a community run with shelter dogs at the dublin location. officials say community members come enjoy the outdoors while helping shelter dogs get some exercise and even meet their possible next new four-legged companion. all right. so all adoption fees will be waived at both the dublin and oakland occasions. the event starts june first from 9 until 11:00am at the dublin adoption center. also participating in the first-ever california. adopt a pet day is the berkeley east bay humane society. it's going to be hosting its award-winning 10th annual pints for paws craft beer festival. this event is planned for next saturday. june 1st and they are thinking

>> governor gavin newsom has signed a bill into law allowing arizona doctors to come to california to perform abortions on their patients. this coming after the arizona supreme court ruled in favor of an 18 64 law banning nearly all abortions in the state. and since then, the arizona legislature and the governor repeal that law. but that repeal will not take effect until the fall. so in the meantime, governor newsom hopes in california can be of help to those who need the procedure. in a statement,

newsom said, quote, california will remain a safe harbor ready to defend abortion access because we value women's health and trust women to make the most intimate decisions about their bodies, health and futures. the state senate passed 2 bills this week that will close a loophole in california's ban on single use plastic bags. lawmakers say that this loophole allowed the use of those thicker reusable bags, but they've actually made the state's plastic bag problem worse. the bills would also require stores to provide plastic bags made out of 100% recycled material instead of the current 40%. lawmakers have until august 31st to pass the bills. road safety. top of mind at the state capitol as new bill aimed at regulating autonomous vehicles passed the state assembly yesterday. the bill would make autonomous cars the port, any accidents or malfunctions to the dmv. the agency with that make the data available to the public.

san francisco assemblymember matt haney says the goal is to make ab companies more accountable and improve public trust. for your health. this afternoon, lawmakers approving a bill banning snacks that have certain kinds of food. i in california schools ab 23. 16 cleared the assembly on a unanimous 59 to 0 vote yesterday. 29 lock. 21 lawmakers abstained from voting on this measure. it would ban food products like flaming hot cheetos and fruit loops from being served in public and charter schools across the state. the bill now heads to the senate. uc berkeley plans now to do some brand updating and go from being called cow to the letter b school officials say the changes so more people are aware that cow is and berkeley. they say that in their research, many people thought that cow and uc berkeley were 2 different schools. but there has been some pushback from students over 2000. people have already signed the petition to reverse

of hbc use in san francisco, mayor breed says local organizations have already partnered up to form and help push this plan forward. santa clara county's vector control district says it plans to conduct a more comprehensive treatment regimen in order to get rid very invasive mosquito. they say this particular mosquito carries the zika virus and other diseases. the district says they detected 12 mosquitoes in the area of machado lane. this has happened since early april and they have been trying to treat them ever since. but so far it has not worked. so the district says it will be starting this new plan on the 29th. that's next week. and they will be giving us an update on how that goes next week. hurricane season officially underway now in the atlantic. actually, it starts next week. but we do know now with the storms names are going to be called. so here's the list of the 21 names released. so we've got some on here are alberto chris debby

ernesto gordon kirk, leslie, oscar patty. i don't know if you think it's rough. l rafael. unclear sarah tony valerie william hurricane season starts june first runs to the end of november. and we're getting update now from kyla about what she thinks about this above average hurricane season. yes, so it's interesting. you know, part of the reason of this is that they have been seeing increased water temperatures across the world. and the debate, of course, is whether or not that has to do with global warming. a leave that for you to figure out folks that but >> water temperatures are a big part of what fuels our hurricane. and just to show you kind of the elements come together. converging winds forced the air upwards. then they encounter moisture and then they have the moisture source. and then it's all about the upper-level winds. and right now we're kind of an nino pattern. we're coming to the end of it. nino pattern means that basically it will let it cuts it off a little bit. a little stronger when la nina, which we expect will be in quickly here that allows it

to grow unchecked to write because those upper level winds are not as strong. you get weaker upper-level winds. the storm can continue. so as we look at water temperatures here, you might think, well, the atlantic waters so warm. 85 degrees, right? how in the caribbean is the water temperature? it's because warm their current is coming from the south and going to the north very different profile than for us here in the pacific where we have what's called our northerly current, which comes down from the north to the south of that brings much cooler water and obviously see that here off the coast of california at just 55 degrees. so we'll keep an eye on that. they're expecting 4 to 7 major hurricanes this year in the atlantic. that would be category 3 or higher. so that would be a very significant season. meanwhile, back in california, we've had a cooler day here today, but some 80's showing up in spots like bakersfield and fresno, reading at 83 right now, la sitting at about 67. they had some cloud cover there, too. we are dealing with little mix of sun and clouds. clouds are starting to win over where the sun was are taking a live look from the east bay current temperatures, san francisco about 55 oakland, 57. so

obviously we've cooled it down greatly today. 73 in santa rosa. that's my highest number. but a whole lot of 50's 60's across the bay. i'll be back in just a little bit. we'll talk more about the weekend and your 7 day forecast. thank you. police in daly city looking for 2 suspects accused of assaulting a store employee. >> while they were attempting to steal boxes of candy. this all happened at the smart and fiocery store on mission street. officials say the store manager asked a man and woman leaving the store allegedly with a card of 40 to 50 candy boxes for the receipt. the male suspect then punched the manager 3 times in the ribs before leaving the scene with 45 candy boxes. the stolen merchandise of value that $175. anyone with information should contact. daly, city police. people living in the camp meant in sandra fell are speaking out. they say a nearby business has been blasting loud music at them for the last 3 nights as

bit parts of san francisco. but take a look at this picture. we watch. this gets steadily more gray as we go throughout the day and the trees have just gotten crazy to last couple of hours. so we're very breezy out there. you can see are about 20 miles per hour in san francisco. same story in napa. of course, that's her bottle. rock is getting going tonight. so just be ready for that. it's a little chilly out with temperatures and gray skies, but it's also going to feel a little bit cooler with some of this wind that is out there. i mentioned it's chilly half moon bay. 53, we're at about 58 in fremont. 66 in san jose, 60 in dublin, oakland. 57 at about 73. rows of the one spot that kind of hanging on to a little warmth. today's got a little more sunshine going on there. and you can see that on storm tracker for some of these clouds of really been really socked in on the peninsula and parts of the east bay and south bay. but north base gotten a little bit of a break in spots. as we zoom out, though, you do see that low pressures influence those clouds starting to kind of roll in. and there is just the tiniest bit of moisture with this. so we're going to see rain per se, but we could

lauderdale. his mother also arrested. she pleaded guilty in 2006 to bank fraud in a previous case, kingston is accused of defrauding a company by not fully paying for $150,000 232 inch tv in this lawsuit that was filed that saying that kingston put down a $30,000 deposit for that tva promised to promote the company with singer justin bieber. the company says it installed that tv, but kingston did not make the rest of the payments or promote the business of. according to this lawsuit, bieber and kingston no longer work together. kingston did post on social media saying that his lawyers are handling everything. it's not clear why he was at fort irwin. the kentucky police officer who arrested the top ranked golfer scottie scheffler outside of the pga championship is now being disciplined for not having his body camera activated. new surveillance video showing

>> all right. welcome back, everybody. it's time for the 3 at 3 where we tell you about some relief. and stephen, this is going to start with some heartwarming video to start this afternoon. please meet 10 year-old anthony mckay. he's getting his wish to go to disney world. granted, gosh, that's so happy. adorable. he is battling sickle cell disease and thanks to the make-a-wish foundation. he was met with this surprise that mississippi children's museum anthony's family says he is a strong fighter who spreads joy and happiness with his loving smile. you can see that. and he said he's going count down every day until june that sunday's heading to disney world most excited to meet spiderman, which i love and also built his own lightsaber at the star wars exhibit. i got to work with make-a-wish as at the weather channel. it's a remarkable organization. so pretty amazing. i mean, you get to make smiles like that. and he has even gone yet. it's amazing. we do have some video from the largest known living tree in the world, standing tall at sequoia national park. it's known as general sherman.
