>> down 6 for continuing to follow. developing news out of san francisco where a motorcyclist is being treated after a crash involving a bus. this is video from the scene from the citizen app. we can see there is a muni bus at the scene and a stretcher in the middle of the road. good evening. thanks for joining us for kron for news at 6. i'm ken wayne and i'm vicki liviakis. the crash was reported about 2.30, this afternoon. a police say that it happened at the intersection of balboa and 44th avenue. that's where we find kron four's lezla gooden with the latest on what's going on there. let's la. >> yeah. can officers tell me that they believe that a motorcycle was driving in this area and they believe that he ran a stop sign and crashed into a city bus. now, like you said, this happened around 2.30 and we were here and take a look at this video from earlier. you could kind of see that motorcycle on the ground and debris everywhere. now, police say that. they were able to look at video that was

and they saw the video of the motorcycle. it's not stopping at all at the stop sign and ran into that bus. now there were individuals who were on the bus about 10 passengers as well. and they were on. they were not enter at all. and we're told that the bus also did run over his now that rider was taken to a nearby hospital. >> and is expected survive, but had some serious injuries to his leg. and again, we've been talking to neighbors since we've been out here and they say that this intersection is pretty dangerous because people have. >> are not able to see whether coming up these different hills. and also the officers say that they also have notice crashes as well. and once we get more information, we will be sure to update you live in. a richmond was going for news. all right. let's thank you for that. in the south bay. meantime, crews are working to clear a deadly crash that >> spilled about 100 gallons of fuel on southbound 1, this happened near north of blossom

hill road about 11 o'clock this morning. investigators say that a man from san jose entered the freeway and was driving north in the southbound lanes before colliding with a big rig. that man was thrown from his car and he died at the scene. the driver of the big rig was not hurt. 2 lanes are closed. the highway patrol says that lanes are expected to stay that way into the night. >> if you got stuck in traffic on the bay bridge this morning, this is probably why a big rig caught fire on the upper deck of the bridge just east of treasure island. westbound lanes were shut down for hours. one of our producer says it took them more than an hour just to get through the your viewpoint island tunnel. that's only couple 100 feet. the fire has been put out. the scene has been cleared. all the lanes are now reopened. the big rig was carrying produce at the time it caught on fire. investigators are still trying to figure out exactly how that fire started. >> all right. let's get a look at the traffic got out there right now as some traffic coming into the city. i'm

going to got to tell you, i was on the and it was brutal about an hour and half hour and 40 minutes to try to get into the city from the east bay that is just apparently, lawrence, normal traffic on a friday trying to get into the city because the bridge is open. but the weather still kind of overcast. yeah. how about that? i mean, really what a change in the weather over these past. 24 hours. >> temperatures really dropping off outside as that cool air begin racing on shore. you can see the sea breeze out there right now. it has been gusty in spots 2030 mile an hour gusts around the bay area. you see some of those clouds racing right over the top of quite how are now more of that on the way overnight tonight as we head into the unofficial beginning of summer. and here we go much cooler temperatures in the forecast 50's along the coastline right now. 50's and a couple low 60's inside the some of the warmer spots to get help had well inland. 68 degrees in fairfield. 67 now in vacaville. 74, her friends in cloverdale. but most of the bay area. now look at the influence of that sea breeze and the much cooler weather.

and speaking of the winds here, they are look at that gust of 36 miles an hour here just recently in the san francisco. but all around, we're seeing that breeze can really bring that cool ocean air well onshore this evening and more that overnight tonight. in fact, we're going to really see that marine layer deep in overnight, never really clearing and parts of the bay area along the coastline, not much in the way of sunshine at all and see the clouds lingering right across the coast already pressing in the east bay. now that will fill in overnight tonight. i think deep enough that probably going to see some drizzle. so if you're headed out the door, yeah, grab a jacket. you're going to need it this evening. unlike earlier part of the week, these temperatures are much cooler. the wind is blowing in spots. patchy fog clouding up as we head toward 9 o'clock or so. well, there you can see out toward the golden gate bridge. pretty gray out there right now. more of that to come thrown a little drizzle and that's how we're starting a new holiday. more on that coming up in a few minutes. all right, lawrence. >> well, yeah, the holiday travel weekend. he's in full swing with hundreds of thousands of people taking to the skies and of course wrote,

lot of enthusiasm around the idea of a new store in union square. the video games of nintendo spanned multiple generations fun for kids of today and the stealth jet for adults who grew up playing on friday announced that they will be opening a new store. san francisco being the lucky location. what i heard the news this morning, you know, jumping up and down. san francisco mayoral candidate. aaron peskin is the supervisor for the district where union square is located and women plans on opening its new store. >> the company says it will be a place for a wide range of visitors to experience the its products and characters from mario kart to poke him on the amazing it's going to attract young people, but also people my age who are nostalgic about nintendo. and it's exactly what union square needs. it's an attractive experience. friday's announcement comes at a time when many retailers have closer union square locations. >> jewelry, store. sure. even company closed earlier this month after operating in union square for 172 years. ceo of

that graduation had ended around 8 o'clock last night when calls reporting a shooting started coming in. but there are still many people on the field and on the campus after the graduation, police say as groups were leaving, some kind of fight broke out in the parking lot and several suspects allegedly fired weapons. their 2 victims were injured. both taken by paramedics to the hospital. a 3rd victim was located later at an area hospital apparently shot during the altercation. >> what about partner? they have like a bad man. unlike after that, as you see, everyone started running. >> it was like 20 shots. those light. you know, graduation, >> the school district released a statement today saying, quote, what happened after skyline high school graduation on thursday evening was heartbreaking and absolutely unacceptable. our behavioral health staff is at

skyline high today and will continue to provide support to students, staff and families in the days to come. we have also also instituted additional safety and security measures for our remaining graduation ceremonies. well, much has been said about the recall of alameda county district attorney pamela price. that may not be the only recalled that oakland voters will have to decide this. november members with a group called oust oakland united to recall. shane taos say they have already collected. >> more signatures needed to force a recall of oakland's mayor kron four's. dan kerman has more. the push to recall oakland mayor sheng thao is pressing forward. we are having. >> and incorrectly successful recall campaign opponents of taos say they have so far gathered. >> more than 30,000 signatures 5,000 more than the 25,000 needed. >> to force a recall election in november, people say, well, you know, you should give them more time more time to do

work. >> she's already almost destroyed oakland. we want to give her more time to completely destroy open. we cannot afford to do that. we cannot afford to do it. will recall backers have a laundry list of complaints. crime remains at the top of that list. but the mayor points to oakland police crime stats indicating crime is down 17% over the last 3 years down. 34 1% when you compare last year to this year in 2021. oakland had 134 homicides. >> we're now on track this year for less, for less than half of that, not only is crime down from last year. but it's down in comparison to the last several years. >> oakland. is getting back on track backers of the recall admit some crimes are down. >> they also make the claim that's because people aren't reporting crimes as much as they used to. and because fed-up retailers have closed their stores crime. absolutely

we've got some much cooler weather that has settled in now is that ocean breezes kicked in and at least the first part of the weekend start out a little bit on the cool side effect is chilly out there right now. looking out towards sfo. you've got the wind blowing. you've got the clouds rolling in some delays at sfo check out your local airports of 23 minutes or so. not very long delays and oakland none of those right now. san jose are also looking good. and that's the way is likely going to stay in the high country. we've seen some of that wind picking up over the sierra nevada. and guess what? they're going to see blustery winds as we head through the night tonight. you know, they've had some thunderstorms, popping up, least further south. so far, just some clouds here. the couple pop-up showers today, a little further south, more that for the south and that, in fact, you get the bishop very get toward mammoth lakes even some snow or some of the top of the mountains, if you can believe that. but we're going to see that play out kind of throughout the weekend. so you want to watch out forecast in the monterey bay, not rain, but some drizzle. a likelihood by tomorrow morning. look at the temperatures. you can stay very great tomorrow, especially right along the

coastal areas, 50's right at the beaches, maybe low 60's inland southern california. definitely not a heat wave but warmer. 72 in pasadena about 69. and i'm and 69 in downtown los angeles. if you do plan to head the high country tomorrow, not bad. you see mostly sunny skies. temperatures there in the 60 some of the ski resort still open like palisades to. if you want to do that and if you want to stick around for the entire holiday weekend, be careful up as we going to see some more thunderstorms possibly pop up again on sunday and monday. those will be some afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms. so be on the watch for that, too. also watch out. the waters are running very, very cold this late snow melt. got to be careful out there in those waters. the region pretty high humidity, creeks and streams. all good advice. thank you. in honor of cal animals. first-ever california adopt a pet day. >> east bay spca is hosting a community run with shelter dogs at their dublin location. officials say the community members can enjoy the outdoors. well, helping shelter dogs to get a little exercise and could even
