good morning and thanks for spending part of your memorial day with us and aria. and i'm james. we've got a live look behind us here. >> on this monday morning, gray skies for now. and a lot of people probably have outdoor plans today. yeah, to where you want to enjoy one more day of this long weekend. john, what's going to be like, you know, and a good day to get out there today, just as we saw for most of this past weekend, temperatures are >> going to be pretty comfortable. nothing too terribly warm. that's for sure. looking behind me at the golden gate bridge skies a little bit cloudy out that way. this low gray pushing in from the golden gate, still shrouding out a whole lot of the bayshore itself. but that sunshine winds out later on today. temperatures will feel good along with some 60's to 70's just a light coastal breeze pushing on in this morning. that's going help to moderate things into the afternoon. and we're already seeing some temperatures climbing under that sunshine, pittsburgh, concord, brentwood, all back in the low 60's. kelsey ville, our first spot at 71 degrees. now later today. if you do plan on getting out for a memorial service, expect temperatures in the 70's to 80's for inland areas 60's to 70's along the
9:02 am
bay shore. rain, right on eve of that early travel, light conditions across our highways and bridges on this memorial day. >> not seeing any major issues or delays on your highways, bridges make an excellent time traffic no longer building at the toll plaza. 8 minute ride or san matteo bridge just short of 13, 80 to 101 ridge was a virtual ridge about 7 minutes and the golden gate bridge. 37 of the tolls, 20 minutes, all regions. back to thanks. a lot of today. cities across the nation and here in the bay area will be honoring our veterans. those who have served and lost their lives. yeah, we've got kron four's will tran standing by out of san francisco. >> where a ceremony is expected to take place in a couple of hours. time will. >> waiving of some of the people already here, james. and we see 2 gentlemen, i want to show this man right here in the pat tillman, jersey. i saw you correcting are fixing the flag. so obviously being here
9:03 am
is very important to you. this is live on kron 4. well, so thank you for being eyes just happened. brian. their son, i just saw you the flag was because it's so breezy you came along and put it straight up. why is it so important for you to be? well, first of all, it's a family tradition. we do it. i have 4 kids. the others are town. but we do this every year. we come here not enough patriotism in the bay area's far as i'm concerned. had family members. i lost my grandmother, raised me her. her brother died couple days after d-day in europe and it was important for her and we're all lucky to live here. we have freedom. thanks to all of these guys. so least we could thank you. so you sure. well, he has to drive. i'm too old. they took my license. they were so much, but i just couldn't help. but notice said he came along. they were just having a father son moment and then he saw flag that was tilted and then he just corrected. and pat tillman is special to america and especially special to us
9:04 am
in the bay area because he's from san jose. and obviously he gave up a very lucrative nfl career just to serve in the military and died in the military. so lots going on. you can see people already showing up the festivities right over my right shoulder will begin in 90 minutes from now. we see a lot of security here because we do expect dignitaries to be in attendance and can see all those chairs. my advice, it's still foggy. i know john was talking about going to be warm but not warm yet. so bundle up. if you come down here, this being san francisco national cemetery. now, let me show you dry your eyes to the screen. tell you to look at it because if you're not in san francisco, don't worry. of course they have ceremonies all over the bay area, in fact, to happening right at this very minute. so, for example, if you're in valais, whoa, you can go to mare island. they're having a right now. if you're in san ramon,
9:05 am
which is the top of your screen there, there's bollinger canyon they will have services for probably the next 90 minutes or so. if you happen to wake up and happened to be near there, those 2 locations are available to you. and if you want to wait a little bit longer, well, if you can't make it theirs 10, 30 in san bruno, that too, is also a national cemetery. just like here in san francisco. and then at 11 o'clock, there's skyline skyline, i should say at 92. and 35 in san mateo, that's also available to you. plenty of locations all all over the bay area. some in oakland, some in san jose. but this one because it's san francisco. and because we do expect dignitaries to be here couple years ago, i saw nancy pelosi, congresswoman at that time, james and area. she was then speaker of the house, nancy pelosi. she's been here several times. wouldn't be surprising if she shows up and maybe she didn't. you can be like those 2 gentlemen that we saw that really was special.
9:06 am

9:07 am
in the tub, it appeared to be a mixture of things. and officials say they're still trying to figure out just exactly what it was. however, it did make its way down the hallway into the building's main electrical room, causing chaos for tons of residents. >> they don't maintain well. i know they don't maintain these buildings like they're supposed to. if they did, we wouldn't have these problems. who knows when we'll be able to come back. >> now, multiple say that the building has a handful of different issues, then have not been addressed. there was also multiple personnel there. take a listen to what another a resident had to say. >> we don't want to complain comply. give us 72 hour. eviction notices up year. but charges the good kids get looks pretty good. we set up light is just reported no. everybody's moving out. we are
9:08 am
opposed to give a lot. as the to see it human beings. >> and total, 50 different residents along with their animals were displaced are currently down the hotel motel situation. that's going on. fire officials say they are still investigating it. but back here in the newsroom as we get details and updates from those officials will continue to keep you updated. that's very latest in the newsroom. i'm michael thomas duran. james, we'll send it back to okay, michael, thank you very much. time now is 907. we're going forward to the next story and tell you what's going on because we now know the name of the motorcyclist who died. >> on highway one in san mateo county. and he was the son of a half moon bay's mayor. yeah. last night friends and family gathered to remember him for jack moment has the story. >> remembering someone gone too soon.

>> 9.14, right now. and before you head out the door, let's take a peek at the weather and see when things are going to sum up. started john. still pretty gray out there. that's not deterring a lot of people from being out afternoon bay this morning. looking like they're enjoying low tide out there, but hopefully all bundled up because it is cool and cloudy along the coastline, especially for most of us. aside from the immediate coast, we have a good dose of sunshine on the way here in short order. you can see the evidence of that cool ocean air streaming right over the peninsula and along the bay shore for a lot of spots. high pressure builds in more and more this week and this will contribute to an ever warming forecast today and tomorrow are on the cooler side of things. whereas the latter half of the week starts to get pretty toasty again. we will get that sunshine later today for everyone. but the immediate coastline in most areas tonight we see another push of the low gray and even a little bit of coastal drizzle tomorrow morning.
9:16 am
tomorrow afternoon, our last of our cooler days before temperatures really begin to climb. daytime highs today in the 50's to 60's for san francisco in for other coastal spots. and the rest of us will be in the 60's to 70's with only just a few low 80's today. so definitely keeping that trend of relatively mild weather that we had over your memorial day weekend going into the holiday itself. heyward oakland, up to richmond to the 60's. well, conquered warm at 78 are few 80's and antioch, pittsburgh and vacaville tomorrow, almost identical to today starting with the gray ending with the cool sunshine wednesday. we warm things up a bit and by thursday and friday near 90 degrees for some of our warmest inland areas, john, thank you that. we are green across the board and that's because of the holiday. >> holiday light travel times highway for looking good along 1, to 80, even along the peninsula and the east bay. you make an excellent time. 8 minute ride into the city drive times not changed bridges from the start of the
