clean up all the sand that is now all over the connector. there. so this is likely going to take some time and result in some continue delays down in the south bay. let's take a look at what routes are closed right now. and that includes 2 connectors. the first being your connector from 101, northbound connecting to 8.80, northbound. this is just as you're getting north of downtown san jose trying to go up into the east bay. this is where the big rig itself is located right now. and it is likely going to take some time to get all that sand cleaned up. we're starting to see that backup forming on northbound one to one now and including along old bayshore highway, which has been the alternative route. my advice to you is to get off a little bit sooner. try to take those surface streets to connect you to northbound once you're not dealing with this big massacring right there at the intersection. also seeing the northbound 8.80, connector ramp closed as you're connecting from 8.80, trying to get onto 101, northbound suggestion here is get off 80 a little bit quicker onto

highway 87. that will take you right next to sjc the airport right there. and you'll also get around any sort of backup way before you see any of that slowing down. but again, the intersection of 81, 0, 1, a little bit of an issue right now as we're trying to get this whole situation figured out with this overturned big rig carrying strawberries. and then of course, all the sand barrels that it knocked over is that ran into that have now really polluted the highway with a ton of sand along it. as for other routes. a little bit of good news for you. that is our biggest incident. so it's 11 minutes across the bay bridge from the maze to fremont street. nothing holding you up right there. san mateo bridge at 13 minutes to make are crossing right now. both the richmond center fell and the golden gate bridge are still nice and empty. look at those skies above the golden gate. so much clearer than yesterday. all right, john, thank you for that. bart service between 24th street and mission and daly city stations. >> are going to be suspended

6:00 am
now on highway 101 in 8.80, in san jose. we have michael thomas leading off our coverage live at the scene. michael. >> hey, good morning, everyone. you can see behind me they're actually starting to get that big rig on its right side up and it is, as james mentioned, filled with 40,000 pounds of strawberries. you can see them trying to drag it over. that driver is ok and that drivers there and the black hoodie, we weren't able to speak with him, but he is doing ok now. it's causing a big headache for drivers on both 1, 0, one and 80. it's caused 2 connectors to be closed. and the senior looking at is that the connector of northbound 101, northbound 8.80. that driver was merging onto northbound 8.80, from northbound 101 heading towards the east when he somehow crashed into the railing and essentially tipped over that trailer. you can see it there with all those strawberries there in the back. now, at that point, it also knocked out multiple sand buckets which spilled onto the opposite connector. those coming from trying to get onto northbound 101.
