hundreds of his bay area supporters to san francisco. thank you for joining us here on kron for news at 11. i'm noelle bellow and i'm dan thorn. trump was in san francisco tonight for a campaign fundraiser. >> and the city's pacific heights neighborhood as kron four's. sara stinson reports in his first visit in 5 years. he saw both supporters and protesters. >> people spent hours rallying outside of donald trump's fundraiser here in pacific heights trying to get a glimpse of him or even see him before or after the event. but he took a different entrance each time there's not only supporters, but also some people protesting his visit. >> supporters of former president donald trump taking over san francisco's pacific heights neighborhood. >> and and before a campaign fundraiser at the home of tech billionaire david sacks. >> it's also 2 shows that there's a lot more people people think that are behind trump. and that love him and

>> want to back the crowd, including people from a short drive away. we live in san francisco or vote for trumbo. but as well as those as far as to our president trump commander-in-chief. well, i want to see president trump, roland, you know, i feel like california's neglected by republicans donald trump isn't coming very often. trump's campaign stop follows his conviction on all 34 counts in his new york hush money trial last week. his supporters still on his side. will be exonerated just remember, you what happened to sets a precedent. a lot of people are trying to say that trump is a felon, but actually it was a kangaroo court in a banana republic. trump protesters also showed up. the felon in chief is visiting some of these people. talk about law and order constantly or kissing up to biggest criminal in the entire country. it states civil. but there were

and america forward. >> oakland city attorney is threatening a lawsuit over alleged hotel wage theft. the attorney claims the owners of the radisson hotel located across 80 from the oakland airport has not been paying its 128 employees. the suit says they're owed more than $400,000. the attorney says the hotel allegedly failed to pay the correct minimum wage rates as mandated by the city between july 2019 in april, twenty-twenty, the attorney's office sent 2 letters to hotel management asking them to pay up or file an appeal, but still has not received a response. >> more vandalism in san francisco today. this time the palestinian history murals and the mission district were targeted defaced with anti-arab in islam, a phobic graffiti. community leaders say they're frustrated over the cities, lack of action regarding a wave of islamophobia. they're calling on mayor london breed and other elected officials to protect the palestinian arab

and muslim communities. here in san francisco. in the meantime, brentwood police are investigating vandalism at a mormon church. police say they responded around 7 o'clock this morning and found 2 broken windows. police also say someone spray painted the message on the church to stop investing in corporations including meta apple, jp morgan chase and google that they say are supporting genocide. >> new student housing can be built in berkeley's people's park. a california supreme court ruled yes on uc berkeley's plan to build a 312 million dollar housing complex at the site. it would house about 1100 students. the proposal set off years of protests over the landmark. it's now surrounded by shipping containers. people's park was founded in 1969. as part of the free speech and civil rights movement. 2 local organizations tried to sue cal over the housing project saying it would add noise pollution to an already dense area. the court, however,

temperatures at this hour mainly in the 50's a few 60's in the outlying areas. but 50%. but 52 for timber on and 54 degrees at this hour in petaluma for future wind gusts. well, we've got some wind coming to the golden gate that will continue overnight and it dies down a bit and then comes back again as we head into tomorrow. but looking ahead, a decided dip in temperatures just in time for the weekend friday, saturday and sunday should be lovely. i've got the extended forecast. that's coming up. >> all right. thank you, kathy. there is yet another controversy over the a's this time over how many home games the team will play in the new yet to be built. still to be financed stadium in las vegas. kron four's dan kerman reports. >> this is actually extremely normal. what is shocking me is again, how clumsy all this scenes in public, former miami

marlins president david samson is talking about the latest controversy surrounding the a's new stadium in las vegas. its lease agreement, the a's to propose playing a number of home games outside of vegas. it's totally normal to have that in a lease agreement or in a non relocation agreement. but sampson says these created a mountain out of a molehill by requesting as many as 7 home games outside of vegas. one for is more appropriate. he also called out the a's president. dave carroll for telling a nevada newspaper playing home games elsewhere helps build the team's brand and attract players. it is beyond comprehension how he responded to this. i i really can't figure out what the business strategy is. what the pr strategy when this provision came up. >> all you have to do is be honest and say, of course, oakland, vegas, as one of 30 teams has to be available to play games internationally. so we have to work that into the

least period. and that's literally would be the end of the discussion here taken games away. >> from your public and you haven't even played there yet. i don't know what the logic is. former a's executive andy dolan says whatever the intent the a's have made a bad pr move, especially when it comes to attracting new fans in las vegas. what people are reading those that might not be big. baseball fans are taking money away from us. >> importantly, you're taking games away from us. don't you want us to support your team? do you want us to become engaged in all of your activities? but you're going someplace else. >> the a's have already announced once the lease expires in oakland this year, they'll play at this minor league ballpark in sacramento until their new vegas stadium is built. some of suggested the home games controversy is a way to take the biggest deal. but the a's denied that. and baseball insiders say that's unlikely. here's how you take the deal. you don't do the deal. it's not as

though they've got anything signed. you don't need to take an active step in negotiating to make it look like. >> that the other side's unreasonable or your unreasonable, you just call a press conference and say it didn't work out. we're not moving to vegas. the aye's maintain its not unusual to ask for as many as 7 home games to be played elsewhere. again, baseball insiders say it is. >> and they say it's likely the stadium authority will only grant them for every other year. dan kerman kron, 4 news. >> sheng thao is defending her record as oakland's mayor. this after the group looking to recall her said that. they have enough signatures to force a recall election. among the reasons for the recall, losing the oakland a's along with firing a popular police chief and a surge in crime in the city. the mayor says oakland is headed in the right direction. >> no matter what you know, naysayers say or, you folks who trying to recall you know, i think at the end of the day we were able to reduce crime by 33% overall crime across

>> the man accused of plowing an suv into far into a farmer's market vendor at in walnut creek over the weekend is now facing 2 felony counts of dui. the crash happened early sunday morning on locust street. investigators say 2 women were seriously injured when jose manuel chavez from palais drove his suv through the road that was closed off and then left the scene.

police arrested chavez near the pleasant hill bart station. they say he was driving under the influence at the time the women injured remain in critical condition tonight. >> murder of dolores park has san francisco supervisor rafael mandelman asking police to step up their presence in the area just after 10:00pm. last night a 19 year-old was shot and killed at the popular park. >> it's you know, this is this is a park that does have some public safety challenges. it is just really a pretty safe place and a wonderful place come. we can't live in fear, but people should be aware of their surroundings. >> well, there's no details about a suspect in last night's deadly shooting. anyone with any information is being asked to call san francisco police. >> a nonprofit is pushing back tonight against solano county's so-called city of the future billionaires behind the neu city are currently hoping residents pass a ballot measure to allow the city to

be built on land that's currently designed for agriculture. it's located near the travis air force base, the non-profit solano land trust says voters should vote no on the measure. >> at the end of the day, it's the development of this magnitude is just not good for our agricultural economy. it's our second largest, largest economy in solano county or the habitat or the people county. >> california forever says their new community would be sustainable with low fire risk and would bring thousands of jobs. holmes and economic opportunity to the area. >> another mountain lion spotted in san jose. this is now the 4th sighting in just the last week. the latest one happening today in the area of kelly park near story road. and last night a mountain lion was spotted relaxing on the sidewalk before making their way through backyards. >> hear one person get us yoli and then out there that, you know, the police come into

and 69 degrees in concord. most areas are in the 50's except in the central valley. still were in the upper to mid 80's. 86 degrees in fresno. but because of the cooling trend, some of the heat advisories have been scaled back. some of bin just canceled. so here's what's going on. the excessive heat warning has been in effect for days, stretching even into into solano county into the late host a soon it's gone. it's been scaled way back, not affecting us anymore. the heat advisory that's been with us for days. that expires at midnight. so you see a big difference in the temperatures and also a big difference right along the coastline. the concern was big waves, dangerous surf and the possibility of sneaker waves. some large, powerful waves hitting the beaches without any warning. that expires also hit midnight. so we're left with temperatures in the 50's pretty much everywhere. high temperatures tomorrow continue

the cooling trend. so we're seeing 50's and 60's in many areas. some areas in the 70's will look at 70 degrees in napa and what's going on in the area of high pressure that's been with us. that moved to texas and then we've got low pressure that's taking charge for a little while and look what's coming. another area of high pressure just in time for the work week, but not as strong as what we saw recently. so overall, we're looking at a very lovely trajectory. just slightly cooler temperatures and then we go back up a little bit into the workweek. all right. to when i see that it's 100 degrees in las vegas ago. thank goodness i live in the bay my brother whether got to vegas today. he was like, well, it is haven't 20 at night and it's like go outside, get cooked and that wild. we like it's good to live things up. >> take a look at this. olympic organizers in paris have officially unveiled. the olympic rings mounted on the
