the verdict is in in the criminal trial of hunter biden. jury found the president's son guilty of 3 federal felonies related to buying a gun while addicted to drugs. beer-temple reports on the conviction. >>hunter biden walked out of a courtroom holding the first lady's hand. a delaware jury found him guilty of lying about his drug use when he bought a gun in 2018 special counsel david weiss spoke after the conviction. no one in this country is above the law. prosecutors showed the jury text messages about drug dealers and played audio of hunters own memoir describing drug use. this case was not just about addiction. this case was about the illegal choices defendant made while in the throes of addiction. the defense argued hunter didn't consider himself an addict at the time the president said in a statement he accepts the outcome of the case and went on to say, quote, i am the president, but i'm also a dad. jill, and i love our son. and we're so proud of the man he is today.

as we know, opioid addictions can be a real problem, especially among young people. and now doctors at valley medical center are offering 18 detox program to help young people break their addictions. kron four's noelle bellow has more. >>the program has already treated about 70 patients since its inception in 2021, the pediatrician behind it. doctor lee trope says the voluntary program can be difficult, but in many cases, life changing the program is for patients under the age of 20. they undergo 24 to 48

hours of supervised care at the valley medical center as they experience withdrawal symptoms there then offered rehab or outpatient care. doctor trump says most patients have made it through the process, but not all of them. she also says some patients have come back more than once. >>we've had several patients who are back in schools. one of them is in school to become a nurse based on our program. some of them are back at work. we've had many success stories, but the process is not always linear. this is a relaxing and remitting disease process. >>the number to call is there on your screen. if you need help during their withdrawal period, patients are put on medication like suboxone r buprenorphine which helps to decrease withdrawal symptoms. prevent cravings and ultimately saves lives. doctor trope wants the public to know when ever they're ready to get help. the doors are open. 24 7. >>street vendors stand off

against san bernardino county leaders over their effort to target illegal curbside food operations. they say the county is putting a half million dollars towards that effort. but as shelby nelson reports, the bettors believe that money could be put to better use. >>that's right. and the san bernardino county board of supervisors voted unanimously to approve that budget, which that group was fighting against. outside the covington chambers in san bernardino as the county's board of supervisors weighed the budget for the 2024. 25 fiscal year. several people rallied to prevent its approval because of what it means for illegal street vending within that budget, we found that they want to allocate over $400,000. >>to the creation of an illegal street vending program and x or within the budget proposal mentions the designation of nearly $500,000 toward additional enforcement
