right? so anthony gomes, founder of san jose foods says the idea for this race started 2 years ago as a way to bring big business back to downtown san jose, which he says has struggled since covid larger scale events that trickle down into the local from the hotel's local businesses, restaurants, local vendors, everything from vendors to food trucks, places are kind of struggling to get people right now. even local deejays like alex mensa are here taking advantage of the crowds like spread the word, try to get more people here because we're trying to build the >> really revitalize is all of this shows that side of the isn't dead. >> that's down as they can have a big party and it's going to be like other people like there's this guy we could get same thing here as well. and san jose foods co-founder chris villa says the number of people in attendance was more than expected. >> showing them that there is appetite for big venues. >> it's a those love the san jose. it is again with said

to vintage fashion. and with the festival comes food and you can find plenty of food here along with beer gardens and wine tasting areas. we also know they have a new area for people to enjoy this year. their newly created north beach festival, art culture and history zone. that is going to be on valais street. there's also going to be live music entertainment with many, many stages to enjoy all of that. the most or most of the entertainment is going to be at columbus and broadway again there. so much to do here at the festival starts at 11 o'clock this going to 07:00pm. we're only covering a small portion that will have more throughout the morning. back to you in studio. all right, stephanie, sounds like it's going to be a fun time. >> fire crews statewide now gearing up for fire season as we head into the warmer summer months in the south bay fire crew stopped a grass fire from spreading saturday in san jose. it started at san felipe and loss and most roads burning about 18 acres. firefighters say crews

remained on scene last night to keep an eye on any hot spots. meantime, in southern california, a wind-driven wildfire in gorman is tearing through thousands of acres of brush endangering buildings, forcing evacuations and frustrating firefighters battling hard to get things under control. this is video of the post fire from the citizen app. the flames forced the partial closure of the i-5 freeway in the grapevine, firefighters continue to try to contain those flames. this morning, the police manhunt continues for the person who fatally shot someone in san francisco's mission district. it happened in an alley on why street near the 16th street bart station and for saturday morning, the victim was taken to a hospital. they later died from their injuries. anyone with information is asked to contact san francisco pd. also, san bruno police arrested a 17 year-old boy. the suspect accused of threatening to kill him and praying outdoors. investigators say it happened in a shopping center parking

lot el camino the victim was allegedly threatened with this night that you see pictured on your screen there. officers tracked the suspect down and arrested him on charges of committing a hate crime. a san francisco family is one step closer to healing this morning. this weekend, a park was renamed in honor of their grandmother who was fatally attacked there for sara stinson reports. she lived across the street from those her legacy. her spirit is here sunday. yeas says it's healing to have this park now named after her grandmother. >> you hong kong was walking at the park formally named visitation valley playground when she was brutally beaten in 2019. the 89 year-old died from her injuries a year later, it was a place of tragic loss. my grandmother, huang was attacked here. san francisco police arrested 18 year-old keon to gather and for the attack. says while they continue to wait for a

trial, this is a step in getting closure. we feel a sense of and healing because the trial has been delayed and it's been over 5 years. we still have close the case. and so this is victory for people. you worked with city leaders to rename the park, turning the pain of losing her grandmother into something positive for the community. people can experience joy and peace and harmony now years trying to raise money to make more improvements to the park or want more lighting. we would want color rainbow crosswalks. >> we bullet imports to just announce, you know what's happening here. he says this dedication will allowed long to be remembered for decades to come. her name means abundant love boy in cantonese. >> she was a very robust,

we're in for a treat. it's beautiful. california. coastal temperatures at this hour stretch from the 40's. 48 newry cut through the 50's. 51 in monterey heading into the 60's as you head down to southern california, los angeles 63 degrees and san diego. 61 in the center of the state still in the 60's. but of course, they will warm through the afternoon closer to home. our coastal temperatures remain in the 40's at this hour. half moon bay. 47 point reyes station. 47 as well. but as move into the bay, many mainly in the 50's across the bay area, not in the 60's yet, but of course, that will change as the morning wears on fairfield. 59 degrees, ok, pittsburgh is actually 62 sonoma. 54 degrees. so it's a lovely day. one of the big stories today is the wind has been with last few days. it will continue to be windy. so at this hour, we're looking at temperature the wind gusts. 22 through the golden gate only 5

in danville. so it really varies. but if you go up north, you can see santa rosa right now is 18 gusts. well, as we move into the afternoon in the early evening, look, kind of colors on this map really intensify, turning orange and even kind of reddish and fuchsia. that's where the strongest gusts will be. so the forecast for san francisco 7.45 this evening. 36 miles per hour and many other areas going to be very windy conditions. santa rosa. 31 fairfield, 30 concord. 25 livermore. 22 overnight, things start to die down but still, as you see, even late at night, still, sanibel is holding on to 36 miles per hour. gusts and half moon bay. 31 so. it's going to be breezy in some areas. and you see overnight, gosh, by early tomorrow morning, you know, you see things really died down san francisco, 15, for instance. but again, on monday, we see the winds intensify, but maybe not quite as much as we saw before. so

overall, we're in beautiful shape. us is going to be awfully windy. want to hold on to your hat where an extra, you know something extra on your head just to keep your from flying up like mine tense. do. here's what's going on. high pressure is still just off the california coastline. low pressure scooting the pacific northwest. and that is bringing us really no flow. so it's not going to be super hot, but it will be hot enough. it will be fairly close to seasonal. in fact, for the next few days. and then we'll see a warm-up as we come later into the week. in fact, here's the area of low pressure and there was a little bit rain still up there in the pacific northwest. high temperatures today, 88 for antioch, 81, for the lead. how? and then san francisco 66 ouc was a real variety in temperatures. but again, no triple digit temperatures. not for us. taking a look. then at the forecast for the next 7 days will seat temperatures really staying pretty similar the next 3 days or so. then

they bump up on the first day of summer, which is thursday. and so we'll be in whole different seasonal a step back. you can just see some of the inland spots going into the 90's, low 90's. we get into the summer season, very toasty but appropriate for what you would expect. thanks very much. kathy. >> all right. well, the u.s. department of energy, they say metal thefts are on the rise nationwide. current market prices show a pound of copper valued at $4.50. that's 20% higher than last year. grass is $2.41 for a pound. that's also up 20% from last year. we heard from a recycling facility owner who says they can tell when medals are stolen. >> we don't question it will, but we look at it and we can pretty much with that much explore the experience. we have. we could tell pretty much what it's from. and if it's something like like catalytic converter. we don't buy it. we don't buy it.

>> what? how lucrative big time. big time. they're worth up to almost $1000. >> recently we've seen copper stolen from stoplights in oakland. it happened so often the city ended up replacing those with stop signs in may. copper was stolen from tesla charging stations in vallejo. and officials are warning residents of another mountain lion sighting. this time in millbrae. the san mateo county sheriff's office saysgone of the animals was spotted near vallejo. drive-in can a whole drive? officials are reminding residents that if you run into one of these animals, stay calm, do not run. stand your ground. maintain eye contact and try appear as large as possible. the bonsai gardens at lake merritt are picking up more about that. the facility is working to pick up the pieces after a burglary. they are trying to raise $100,000 to beef up the facility security system after a thief stole $20,000 worth of bonsai trees earlier this year. so far the garden has raised over

$87,000, but they need more help to finish fundraising. you can donate in person or online this year is the gardens. 25th anniversary in oakland. meantime, lakeside park, duck pond and bird are has been closed for repairs since last year. the city of oakland says the pond need serious restoration. they say the filtration systems are broken. the rotary nature center is working on fixing it. some residents expressed% concern over how long the repairs are taking. >> it steers it's been like this for. over year at this point. possibly 2. so there's just i don't think there's any real reason they can't get fixed back into it's obviously not a priority oakland has lot of stuff on the table deal but at the same time, this is one of things that makes our city joy phone. and i think it deserves a little attention.

>> before closing, the pond was a haven for migratory and local birds and created a spot for families and nature fans together. san mateo police arrested a woman accused of attempted murder. that fatal shooting happened on thursday near the intersection of east hillsdale boulevard and norfolk street. police say they fod shell casings, a cell phone and blood near the scene. a shelter-in-place was issued as they search for the shooter. the suspect was booked into jail for attempted murder and assault. 3 members of the hells angels motorcycle club have been sentenced to life in prison this week. the u.s. district attorney's office announced saturday. jonathan nelson, russell taylor and brian went were convicted for conspiracy to commit murder and fbi agent describes the 3 as the most violent of the dozens convicted. 5 other members pled guilty and sentenced to 84 months in prison. hells angels runs out of fun. 10 near san bernardino with chapter spanning all over the country. santa clara county

authorities seize more guns from people showing threatening behavior than anywhere else in the state. a new report from the state attorney general found santa clara county uses gun violence restraining orders allowing law enforcement to temporarily take weapons from people court agrees are likely to commit a mass shooting more than 2000 restraining orders were issued in the last year with 24% of them being issued in santa clara county. at a seafood at this see groups excuse me are asking a judge to unseal court records connected to the lawsuit over abuse. at the now closed women's prison in dublin. this comes after prison inmates claimed the federal prisons bureau failed to stop abuse after even after several reports the prison was shut down earlier this year, 600 inmates were transferred. president officials san francisco are presenting design changes to the controversial bike lane on valencia street on tuesday. the sfmta board of directors

>> all right. good morning, 7.28. this father's day. welcome back to the kron. 4 morning news. i'm stephanie land. let's get you started this half hour with a look at your forecast with kathy trafton. he kathy. good morning, stephanie. it is father's day. the weather once again, we'll be dry. it will be windy and we're not going to see much change for a few days because the pattern with low-pressure way to our north and high pressure to our south. we're kind of sandwiched in between and guess what that means that the pressure gradient tightens and then you get the wind. and where's the stratus at the coast? well, the wind is kind of taking care of that, too clear skies even at the coast. so this is what happens when that pressure gradient tightens. right now we've got wind gust to 22 in san francisco for the golden gate and 27 in half moon bay. look at the colors on this map as we become more orange and red and fuchsia that indicates stronger winds. and that indeed is what we get as we

head toward the late afternoon this afternoon. so all the sudden we're in the 30's gusts to 38 in san francisco. and 36 in sandra fell. and then as we go through time toward the evening, we still remain very strong. a little a little lightning on the winds, but still quite gusty in the 30's in some areas, including san francisco at 33. but right now temperatures are in the 50's and 60's. at least we're not going to have scorching hot temperatures this afternoon. instead will be seasonable. it will be mild. but the concern is the wind and of course, the dry air. that means a concern for fire danger. and we don't have any warnings here except fairfield inn dislike county. we do have a red flag warning in effect through tomorrow. can concerned about that. and some wind advisories to our south down in santa barbara county and in san luis obispo county. so we do have elevated concerns. we've got more details coming up in weather. all right, kathy, thank you so much. help is on the way to

california southern border in an effort to keep dangerous drugs off our streets. >> the san ysidro port of entry in san diego is the number one entry point for fentanyl in the entire nation. now, governor gavin newsom is increasing the number of national guard troops there. the governor made a similar move last year raising the number of national guard at the border by 50%. this new order will double that summer. >> national guard now over 390 men and women that are working on not only on the border, but throughout the state of california on counter narcotics on drug interdiction strategy, sharing information reconnaissance tremendous success, particularly as it relates addiction over 62,000 pounds of fentanyl has been see some 1066%. >> the new national guard troops will arrive in waves to help border agents. there. and now the national news, the supreme court running out of time to rule on a number of cases with 2 dozen cases still

undecided. the nation's highest court making news this week with big decisions on abortion pill and a federal ban on bump stocks as news nations elina shirazi reports. the 9 justices still have a lot of work to do and little time left to do it. >> the clock is supreme court justices rushed to decide on 23 cases the for their summer recess and about 21 days in just the past few days, the u.s. supreme court unanimously preserved access to the drug mifepristone, using nearly two-thirds of all abortions in the u.s. last year. the high court's first abortion ruling since the overturning of roe versus wade nearly 2 years ago. this is not a cause for celebration. >> because the reality of certain things are still not going to change we are looking at the fact that two-thirds of women of reproductive age in america live in a state with the trump abortion ban. this ruling is not going to change that.

hundreds who stormed our nation's capital. also on the table, the legality of emergency abortions keeping guns away from alleged abusers. whether people can be banned from sleeping outdoors as well as several social media regulation cases. the high court now has just a few weeks to decide the future of those 2 dozen cases in washington. shirazi. >> house lawmakers passed the annual defense spending bill on friday that roughly 884 billion dollar plan includes a nearly 20% pay raise for junior troops and a smaller raised for all other smear service members. it also allocates more than a billion dollars to improve military housing but several amendments created controversy for a bill that typically has large bipartisan support. one reverses the pentagon's policy to pay for travel of those seeking abortions. another eliminates diversity, equity and inclusion positions at the defense department. the legislation now heads to the democratic controlled senate where it's likely to change.

california is running out of license plate numbers. state officials now working on a plan for a new number system. the dmv says california only has about 18 months of numbers left, believe it or not. well, the current sequence was started in the 1980's. a passenger planes start with one number than 3 letters and 3 numbers 10. so when the current numbering system is used up, the dmv has gone with the simplest solution possible. they're going to reverse the order of the sequence starting in late 2025. or you can pay extra to get a custom one made in oakland, jack. london square is being recognized internationally for innovative marketing kron. 4 spoke with a member of a group that manages events at jack london square. >> last september was world alzheimer's awareness month. so we chose that has something to go and support community

with old timers affects one in 3 seniors that live in alameda county. >> jack london square has been awarded the goal next. the award for its alzheimer's awareness program. in the east bay. brand new affordable homes are ready for move in the cherry hill apartments on international boulevard in east oakland offers 55 housing units. the city says 14 of them will be designated for unhoused people. officials say the new homes were made possible thanks to 350 million dollars voters approved last year for housing project. mayor sheng thao says there are other housing projects in the works 11 to be specific. san mateo county supervisors approved raising the base pay for regular county employees to $30 an hour. the board immediately raised the base wage for more than 70 workers who salaries were below that. the board's action aligned with what a task force determined to be a livable wage. the task force evaluated the cost of food, child care, health care, housing, transportation, taxes, and other costs.

able to help honor all of those lives that were lost to aids lives impacted by aids. this may be an incredibly beautiful sanctuary. but the story begins during one of the lgbt community's most painful chapters. the aids pandemic, which took the lives of thousands in the city alone and for a community that was oftentimes ostracized. aids only added to the stigma that so many faced being aware at that time that the >> community, the community and people with hiv in age were. >> i'm being ignored and and hated >> demonized. >> the memorial is truly been a beacon of love to the lgbt community, but its impact has been expanding more and more a sign of this soon to be unveiled in another part of golden gate park. >> this is the circle of friends. what many people consider to be the center of the national aids memorial grove in here, the names of

those winds have knocked away the stratus. it's just we ought to see stratus not today. instead we have some already dancing in the breezes. here's what's going on. some areas. if you look at this map you see the reds and the oranges and then magenta that's really breezy like look at point, raise parts of west linn county and up into santa rosa. pretty breezy. look what happens as we head through the day and into the early evening as much as a 40 mile per hour gust in sonoma. 31 for calistoga. 22 from mountain view. 23 for danville. so it really depends on where you are. finding the winds die down as we head into tomorrow morning. but the big concern, of course, is not the weather in terms of the temperatures. temperatures right now 50's and 60's in this afternoon. we'll see numbers about where you would see normally this year. but you know what? right along our coastline, 50 60's, even in the central valley, still in the 60's, we'll heat up. certainly the weather

pattern is about the same as it was yesterday. high pressure is still to our south. this area of high pressure scoots a little bit toward the east and low pressure is right. it going right into the pacific northwest. and when the high in the lower that close, it's a tight and pressure gradient and that is what really brings on the winds. so we'll see continued windy conditions again for another day or 2 before these the situation is resolved. little bit in. the high pressure starts to really build in in the pacific northwest. yeah. this counter clockwise circulation because of that low. and yeah, little bit of rain, not for us, but the low does serve to certainly bring us all the wind high temperatures today. great for us. we're looking at 80's in the warmest spots. maybe a few 90's in the east bay, 60 70's right along the bay shoreline, 60 in half moon bay. it's terrific. the thing is there are some heat advisories to our south and there's a red flag warning to our east heading into lake county, solano county and into the northern sacramento

great time at the festival. >> all right. well, fire crews statewide now gearing up for fire season as we head into the warmer summer months in the south bay fire crew stopped a grass fire from spreading saturday in san jose. it started at 7 felipe and las animas roads burning about 18 acres. firefighters say crews remain on scene last night to keep an eye on any hot spots. meantime, in southern california, a wind-driven wildfire in corman is tearing through thousands of acres of brush. you can see that big pillar of smoke there. this incident in danger and buildings forcing evacuations and frustrating firefighters battling hard to get things under control this is video of the post fire from the citizen app. the flames forced the partial closure of the i-5 freeway in the grapevine, firefighters continue to try to contain those flames. and this morning the police manhunt continues for the person who fatally shot someone in san francisco's mission district. it happened in an alley on why street near the 16th street

bart station of for saturday morning. the victim was taken to a hospital. they later died from their injuries. anyone with information is asked to contact san francisco pd. and bruno police. they arrested a 17 year-old boy that suspect accused of threatening to kill a man praying outdoors. investigators say it happened in a shopping center parking lot el camino real. the victim was allegedly threatened with that knife. you see there on your screen. officers tracked the suspect down and arrested him on charges of committing a hate crime. a san francisco family is one step closer to healing this morning. this weekend park was renamed in honor of their grandmother who was fatally attacked there. kron 4 sarah stinson reports. >> lived across the street from this park. so her legacy. >> her spirit is here sunday. yeas says it's healing to have this park now named after her grandmother. you hong kong was walking at the park formally

named visitation valley playground when she was brutally beaten in 2019. the 89 year-old died from her injuries a year later, it was a place of tragic loss. my grandmother, huang was attacked here. san francisco police arrested 18 year-old keon to gather and for the attack. says while they continue to wait for a trial, this is a step in getting closure. we feel a sense of and healing because the trial has been delayed and it's been over 5 years. we still have close the case. and so this is victory for people. you worked with city leaders to rename the park, turning the pain of losing her grandmother into something positive for the community. people can experience joy and peace and harmony now years trying to raise money to make more improvements to the park or want more lighting. we would

>> well, it's a beautiful day. we have great conditions. a little bit windy. you can see right there, the breezes in tree leaves. so we've got hot and dry weather coming up. how hot? how dry it is going to be so hot and dry a red flag warning is in effect. that is for sacramento county move starting from reading all the way down to to county, stretching into our own solano county and into lake county. look at this. it's beautiful at the coast. it's june. you would expect to see throughout his wooden shoe. where's the grey? well, it's the winds. it taken care of the stratus. in fact, here are the current wind gusts, as you can see coming through the golden gate at 20, the strongest winds right now are in half moon bay at 29 miles per hour. and in parts of sonoma county, look at santa rosa at 23. and those strong winds are even right there at the coastline. look this map. lights up into the oranges and the reds and even

magenta as the day goes through and even into the early evening, gusts expected up to 40 miles per hour in sandra fell. 36 to the golden gate this evening. it threw it right to the golden gate. 29 santa rosa. you can pick out your spot. 22 in that the 23 in oakland, it will be breezy, gusty and even finally ends tomorrow morning when funny the winds die down a little bit. these throughout the bay area that you see atlas peak lighting up even in in the morning at 23 the wind gusts are going to be with us for a few days before they really calm down. here's area of low pressure. this is skirting to our north and it's still couple of things. first of all, it's bringing some moisture into the pacific northwest. it's bringing some rain and course some clouds. that's not all. it's doing. as i stepped back, you'll notice low pressure stays up to the north. look at that high pressure right there. now with high pressure and low pressure, get too close. it's called a tightening pressure gradient. that's what it can cause. and that is what can

really with up the wind. so as long as these 2 features stay pretty close, it stays windy here, but you'll notice a pressured way right into starting to loosen as we head on to the workweek. so by the end of the week, not only will spring be done, but it will be summer and our temperatures will start to warm up and the winds. hopefully we'll start to die down. high temperatures today. this is one of the good things, although we've got gusty winds, we have low relative humidity. at least we don't have temperatures too terribly hot, certainly not at the coastline. 66 in san francisco, certainly not right along the bay shoreline. 73 in oakland, of course, as you head inland to the east yeah, temperatures in the 80's. but if not triple digits. that's the good news. so that's why we're not in a fire advisory for us in the bay area. but there still are into the sacramento valley. let me just step back. so you can see the five-day forecast into this. that's for through spring. and then the extra 2 days that summer summer is nearly upon us with hot temperatures inland into the 90's as we

stop signs in may. copper was stolen from tesla charging stations in vallejo. officials are warning residents of another mountain lion sighting this time in millbrae. the san mateo county sheriff's office says one of the animals was spotted near vallejo. drive-in drive. officials are reminding residents that if you run into a mountain lion, please stay calm. do not run. stand your ground. maintain eye contact and try to appear as large as possible. was garden is at lake merritt is picking up the pieces after a burglary. they are trying to raise $100,000 to beef up the facility security system after a thief stole $20,000 worth of bonsai trees earlier this year. so far the guard has raised over $87,000, but they need more help to finish fundraising. you can donate in person or online. this year's is the gardens 25th anniversary in oakland. meantime, lakeside park a duck pond and bird guard has been closed for repairs since last year. the

picture postcard that the hills they look kind of dry, don't pay relative. humidity is low and the winds are gusting through the golden gate at this hour at 19 miles per hour. some areas are even stronger winds, including santa rosa at 23 miles per hour. when you see the areas of orange and red, that's where the strongest winds are. and look how this map lights up as we go through the day by 6 o'clock tonight, wind gusts at sonoma. 41 miles per hour calistoga. 31 atlas peak 30 is a gusty day. half moon bay. 34 only 20 miles per hour gusts. those wind gusts do diminish a little bit as we approach midnight. but look at this still. 36 in sandra fell. 33 in san francisco. wind gusts are one of the big concerns. that's why we have concern about fire danger across the bay area. also, the wind gusts or precluding. this drought is from forming right along the coastline. so here's a good look at half moon bay. you could have the beach to

yourself and no gray why the winds? well, low pressures to our north and low pressure is moving to the pacific northwest. high pressure is to our south. it's also moving him to the coastline in when high and low pressure get too close together. that tightens up the pressure gradient, which really translates into gusty winds for us. so that's what's going on in the few days as you speech or start to move away. the winds will lessen. but in the meantime, the winds are so gusty. there's a red flag warning in the northern sacramento valley all the way down to to hand the county and also stretching into solano county, also stretching into lake county, very gusty winds, critical concerns for fire danger. the good news is our temperatures right now. temperatures 50's 60's. even 72 in antioch. these are pretty mild conditions. these are not the hot triple digit temperatures. we risk seeing just a few days ago. so this low pressure again affecting the pacific northwest. it's bringing some rain, some clouds there. so

morning, the police manhunt continues for the person who san francisco's mission district. it happened in an alley on why street near the 16th street bart station at 4 on saturday morning. the victim was to a hospital. they later died their injuries. anyone with information is asked to please contact sfpd. also, san bruno police arrested a 17 year-old boy. the suspect accused of threatening to kill a man praying outdoors. investigators say it happened in a shopping center parking lot el camino the victim was allegedly threatened with this knife. you see there on your screen. officers tracked the suspect down and arrested him on charges of committing a hate crime. a san francisco family is one step closer to healing this morning. this weekend, a park was renamed in honor of their grandmother who was fatally attacked there. well, for sara stinson reports. she lived across the street from park. so her legacy, her spirit is here

>> all right. welcome back. taking a live look outside at coit tower this sunday morning. gorgeous. start to your day at 9.12, beautiful blue skies out there. kathy, in just a bit of a breeze, too, all say it's beautiful. it couldn't be a pretty start to the very last day. last sunday of spring. so right out the coastline right now, it's june. so where's the stratus? not there. you know why? because the winds have been pretty brisk and the strategy hasn't had much of a chance to form he had out there right now. look at that. not too many people on the beach. wind gusts. well, let's talk about that. we're talking about the winds in half moon bay at this hour, gusting to 26 through the golden gate to 19 miles per hour. winds. sonoma, 15 atlas peak 10 miles per hour winds see the strong ones in santa rosa. you see where the oranges and reds and pinks are. oh, my. that's where the strong winds are going up into time. 9.45. this evening. winds gusting to 40 in sandra fell. 38 for sonoma. and 23 in

oakland's. we've got gusty winds. that's on the menu for tonight and late by about midnight or so. we still keep the gusty winds 30 in san francisco. not till tomorrow morning into the afternoon to the winds start to die down a little bit. but still, you see an awful lot of yellow. so we do have some winds gusting into the 20's. wind gusts are big concern. and so is the relative humidity low and the wind is partly due to this area of low pressure. now up in the pacific northwest is bringing some sprinkles to portland. and it also is a player in this scenario, low pressure when it gets too close to high pressure. the titans up the with the pressure gradient and that's what can bring on the strong gusty winds. that's exactly what's happening. high pressure still up the coast. both these features are moving eastward, as you might expect over time, they'll move further apart and then our winds will certainly die down. but in the meantime, we do have concerns about fire danger across the bay area.

the concerns are so high in the sacramento valley that there's a red flag warning in effect through tomorrow night. at 8 o'clock 2 monday night. so red flag warning extends into parts of the bay area and that would include solano county and lake county for the rest of the bay area. it's a concern about high fire danger, but it's not at warning or advisory status. one of the things helping us out of the high temperatures are not so very high. we're not seeing temperatures around 100 degrees or so. no more like in the upper 80's in the warmest inland spots from 85 in santa rosa. 82 novato 87 in antioch. so these temperatures are nice hot but not super hot along the coastline for 50's and 60's bay shoreline into the 70's. it's going to be absolutely beautiful day. and you know what else is absolutely beautiful. the next 7 days, ok, spring, today's spring and spring continues monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday. that's when we start summer. and that's when the

the color pop up, indicating strong wind gusts by 10:15pm, tonight 34 mile per hour gusts through the golden gate. and 39 in sandra fell. 29 calistoga. my goodness. no one was a concern for the fire. and by midnight by 1 o'clock. still very gusty. finally later tomorrow, we'll start to see things pull back a little bit. but we still have some big fire concerns and especially in the central valley, sacramento valley. there's a red flag warning in effect that continues through tomorrow night through monday night. at 8 o'clock. and the concern is a persistent dry air mass dry, dry conditions. you can even see the hills right behind the golden gate. it's very, very brown. so that more the indications of lower relative humidity, but it's also the wind. where does this win come for a while? this when these days? well, when high pressure and low pressure get too close together, that tightens up the pressure

gradient. and that is what brings us the winds. so you'll notice low pressure is moving to our north, taking aim on the pacific northwest. high pressure's to our south. everyone is moving right toward the california coastline. and when high pressure and low pressure get together, this is the kind of thing that happens. and over time, these will start to separate and our winds will start to die down. so the good news is that low pressure is bringing some moisture to the pacific northwest. we could actually actually is use little bit right here, but no, instead we get dry conditions. and the weather today is beautiful in terms of the temperatures this afternoon, nothing in triple digits, not even in the warmest inland spots. we'll be lucky if we get to anywhere. certainly report casting 88 for antioch. 84 for napa. but right along the coastline, half moon bay, 59 redwood city, 70, the bayshore line mainly in the 70's heyward. 75 oakland, 73, sandra fell. 74. it's a beautiful day. and the next 7 days are also beautiful. as
