morning news. moviegoers in east bay on the edge. >> after a shooting at theater in new city. police are now still looking for that shooter. plus, a 3 alarm warehouse fire in oakland burned overnight right near 8.80. this is near the bay bridge. and organizers are working hard to ensure this weekend's pride celebrations are safe. this comes after fbi warning about terrorist groups targeting the lgbtq+ community. >> from the area's local news

station. you're watching the kron. 4 morning far. well, good thursday morning thank you waking with riding the kron. morning news here on june 27th. i'm reyna harvey. >> all right. well, let's start this morning with a check of weather with john shrable who is gyn us ever so closely into the weekend morning, yeah, getting close now. and as you're rubbing those eyes getting them open. you can see outside. we do a little bit of fog out there to kick off the morning. >> this is your view at the golden gate bridge right here, which as of right now is obscured and a little bit of that low gray fog is something that the coast is going to get pretty familiar with again over the next few days. as we do see this northwesterly flow in some pretty deep marine layer apart times down the coastline. winds this morning at around 25 miles per hour in marin county. breezy a spot, but fairly breezy elsewhere, too. other than that, we do see some coastal drizzle specially on the peninsula. most of us will be dry today without any sort of that

impact. and really just looking at a comfortable one temps are mostly sitting in i- the 50's pretty familiar territory. santa rosa nevado back down into the 40's while pittsburgh in brentwood among our spots hanging on to the 60's later today, we will see daytime highs in the 80's at our warmest 70's along the bay shore. today is one of our more comfortable days of this forecast. we're gradually getting warmer from here. and i'll tell you what that looks like in your full forecast. roadways this morning just fine. we're not seeing any backups on any of our spans, as you can see on the bay bridge. 8 minutes to make your crossing and a nice little sunrise taking shape. they're in the distance. as for the san mateo bridge, 12 minutes free of that is the limit right there. richmond center fell and golden gate still pretty empty. i'll send it back to you. all right. on the eve of that, we have some breaking news from overnight in oakland, 70 firefighters. >> responding to a warehouse fire. this is on 24 than wood street, right near 8.80, coming off the bay bridge. the

city's fire department tells kron 4 the warehouse is occupied by the pacific supply company. heavy smoke could be seen pouring out of that building this morning. still, firefighters say fire was contained to the warehouse so other buildings would not be threatened. cause is still under investigation. reached out to oakland officials. we're trying to get more details about the incident. also breaking overnight, cal fire on the scene of a vegetation fire. its 3 acres in angwin just off of freezing and drive officials asking anybody nearby, avoid the area. update you when we get more information on that as well. all right. a couple other wildfires sparking up across the bay area. this one forcing residents near brentwood evacuate yesterday. there are no reports of anybody being hurt or any damage to buildings. crews say

more than 250 >> last check, 75% contained. >> in the south bay, fire crews say forward progress has been stopped after this fired san jose burned about 30 acres. the fire broke out around 6 yesterday evening right along communication hill just off a guadalupe parkway. no word on what caused that fire. for the july right around the corner. and you have officials across the bay warning people do not use illegal fireworks. they say the sicko of major risk just hurting people and starting fires. >> you've already seen over the last couple of weeks, number of fires all over the state because our weather has turned hot. we're starting to get into our seasonal wind patterns. and so the smallest will lead to fires. >> fire officials in santa clara county say over the past couple years, several people were sent to the trauma center

and in some cases they even lost limbs from fireworks. they recommend people watch professional shows instead of doing your own. moviegoers in the east bay. they're on edge after a shooting at a theater in union city. police say a fight led to a man being shot inside a movie theater in union city. police are still now looking for that shooter. well, for sara stinson set the theater with those details. >> moviegoers, tell me it's frightening to hear that shooting happened inside the century. theaters here at union landing. police say this is very rare. and despite their being no arrest, they do not believe there's a threat to the public. a late night movie at century theater at union landing ended abruptly when gunshots rang out inside one of the theaters. >> union city police say they got the call just before one in the morning. they began to evacuate the building and then clearing all the additional theaters as they had located a gunman on site. so they did make sure all the theaters

were clear. >> and that the premise was safe and then they located the victim. a 19 year-old man was taken to the hospital. he's expected to be okay. investigators say they believe a dispute between 2 people escalated into a fight between 2 groups. sergeant brandon hayward says this kind of violent crime is rare in the in union city. this is, you know, very, very few shootings that we've had. >> this calendar year. so this is a rare event. that is a very safe complex. that's a place you can bring your family, have a nice meal. go see a movie in the movie theater parking lot. we spotted a car that was broken into police say they've been cracking down on car burglaries here agrees union landing are down. 52%. so they still happen. there's no way to completely prevented from happening. but the numbers are actually starting to favor us pretty greatly. the theater was opened on wednesday with moviegoers in shock about what happened here so sad to know that there's shooting that's coming. mind-boggling. i mean,

>> we want a safe place for everyone. come we come here for watching movies with family and children. okay. >> so this has you second guessing. you want to go see the movie right now? yes, yeah. exactly. that's what she fears exactly. will she feel we just talked about and police are still working to identify the shooter? they do not believe that there's any threat to the public because they believe this is an isolated incident between 2 people. now police are asking anyone with video or information to come forward. i'm sara stinson reporting in union city kron. 4 news. >> well, a teen dead another in critical condition after a shooting in hayward. this all happened yesterday around 02:00am on second street just around the corner from hayward high school. that's where police say they found a 15 year-old boy with a gunshot wound to died. about 15 minutes later, police say another victim, the 13 year-old boy himself to the hospital. no arrests have been made in that. gavin newsom

says the boy, the national guard to crack pown on center. now it's working. governor's office reported about 7 million pills containing fentanyl. they vinci's since the start of the year news of first appoint members of the national guard in 2022. to help tackle the fentanyl crisis last year. the national guard help sees a record of unds of 000 fentanyl. the sum recently announcing the state we'll double the amount national guard members working to crack down on illegal fentanyl, including along the southern border. starting on monday, got nightclubs bars in california. there may be required to have drug testing kits, stock at all time. >> wasn't specific on what type of kid stay must have because the general range that there's a lot of different items out there include straws stickers test strips. and so with the law says that these

we're here for things. you know, today been arrested in sandra fell connected to a violent crime spree, including threats to attack customers at a target. officers say several victims called 9-1-1. they say the in robin baseball bats and they were vandalizing cars. we're looking for in county jail. and police are now looking for this woman connection to a theft and a massage shop oakland's montclair woman. still $1100 his owner is asking anybody might recognize call. police. and new electric car chargers were unveiled here for park yesterday. more than 100 charges are going to be installed. it's all an effort to meet the city's carbon

neutral goals. and the golden state warriors have unveiled a new secondary logo for their alternate uniform ahead of the 2024. 25 season. all comes on the same day as the nba draft. find out the lawyers only have a number. 52 overall. let's get you moving if you planned for today in the next few days. john shrable has you covered? good morning, good morning. we are looking at a nice one out there to start the day. in fact, a little bit of sunshine above that marine layer here. >> and downtown san francisco love that view of the transamerica building and sales force tower just barely rising up above the clouds. what a way to start the morning. we are looking at a different perspective right here showing also little evidence of marine layer from the east bay hill sitting out there in the distance. fog is something that we do have at the coastline today. but something we do not have anywhere on this map locally is thunderstorms. a few of them popping up in the eastern sierra yesterday, but that was about it. so that monsoonal moisture remnant, tropical

moisture is long on the outs and yesterday and today are actually on the cooler side of this forecast. has this little dip in the jet stream passes right across the region. keeping us warm but definitely more mild than we had been. and what we will be ahead of us. winds from the north and west. a nice little cooling effect at the coastline. temperatures also are nice and moderated too. another day of 70's and 80's today. tomorrow we are going to be seeing just a sunny of skies, but temperatures will begin to climb. you'll start to notice getting closer to 90 degrees into the weekend. today's highs in the city, mostly in the 60's. some 50's and 60's right along the coastline. then 7 east 80's elsewhere, like i mentioned today is a lot like yesterday, which is okay because there wasn't a lot wrong with yesterday. san jose at 79 yet again. fremont. you'll be at 74 while dublin as well as san ramon back in the upper 70's stanley and roanoke. and you'll be at 72 degrees each and again, our 2

warmest spots, antioch in vacaville, just shy of 90. looking ahead. tomorrow's temperatures. we'll be in the upper 80's saturday. upper 80's again by sunday could see a couple of low 90's inland. shortened coastal areas remain in the 60's to 70's through san francisco pride weekend. next week is when the heat really builds back in with triple digit heat back by next tuesday and wednesday. roadways this morning. all right. we have no issues crossing the bay bridge. nice bright skies overhead. love to see that commute below 10 minutes from the maze to fremont street san mateo bridge. pretty high volume. it looks like it could be a busy one later on. but you're still rolling along just fine. richmond center fell and the golden gate got a nice view, the sunrise and easy hall over, right? all right. on the eve of that in santa rosa pg and e they're going to be close in a row for emergency gas leak repairs. >> college avenue is closed right between north dayton and cleveland avenue. crews say the closure could be in place for 3 days. fish is asking

folks to avoid the area because of traffic. all right. let's talk about the golden gate bridge starting next week. it's going to cost you more to cross it in san francisco on monday. fast track with charge drivers. $9.25. earlier this year, transit officials approve a 5 year program that will increase costs by $0.50 per year. program will raise prices to more than $11 by 2028. transit officials argue that higher tolls and help deal with another expected budget shortfall. lawmakers advanced a bill that would actually prevent parents from be notified by their child's school if they decide to identify as transgender or part of the lgbtq+ community of course, won. a tom wallace has a closer look for us. >> well, emotions and passions certainly running high here at the state capitol. those on one side argue parents should absolutely be notified while those on the other side say doing so could put kids lives

at risk is very difficult. not your parent. >> hopefully. people live here always it's the last person you want to project cure. and san diego democratic assembly member chris ward breaking down in tears as he recalled his own story of coming out to his parents. he spoke about it during this assembly education committee as lawmakers here took up his bill ab 1955, it would prohibit school districts from enforcing and implimenting lgbtq+ notification policies and would forbid teachers from outing children who identify as transgender and lgbtq+. to their parents unless the child gives permission. ward says that decision should be left to the student and the student alone. not. >> you and which you choose, parents who testified in support of the bill argue kids could suffer emotionally and consider suicide of schools out them to parents who are

accepting students most impacted by force outing feel unsafe. speaking publicly because i know as a mom as somebody who has a degree in child development that. my child and my relationship will be stronger if i let them come to me when they're ready. but this group disagrees. opponents of ab 1955. say school notification policies are necessary to ensure parents are kept in the know about their children. this is not the right policy. we need to be involving parents. >> but think about that should not be that the fault that we involve parents. instead, their policy is the opposite. >> if that school is going to be involved in changing their gender and you better well believe the parents are going to be involved as well. >> but this teacher who testified in favor of the bill says she believes educators like her should not have to tell parents i as english teacher, do not have. ability to have these conversations. these sensitive topics are outside of my purview of

teaching english democrats on the committee agreeing with that assessment. eyes to knows the bill passed the committee. it next heads to the assembly floor for a full vote at the state tom wallace kron 4 news. >> well, in november, you're going to be able to vote on a 20 billion dollar proposal to bring more affordable housing units across the bay. it would also help improve existing ones. okay. here's how much money each county could be receiving voters pass 20 billion dollars on about 2.4 billion will go to san francisco the same amount for santa clara county. san mateo county would be getting 2.1 billion alameda county, 2 billion contra costa county. 1.9 and the rest of the bay area cnts will receive under 7 million dollars under 700 milonollars. officials say about 4illion would also go to new program to fund a hole for double housing, construction and preservation projects. after the break,

>> on the south bay, a man is in jail, accused of a gang related shooting that hurt another man san jose. shooting happened back on march on that long avenue right near grand century shopping mall. the suspect accused of shooting at a car with a man and a woman inside. police say that man was hit at least once it had to drive himself to the hospital where he is

recovering. 19 year-old behind bars all in connection to an armed robbery in san francisco. police say they found these guns and one of the suspects homes last week. they include an assault rifle, a sawn-off shotgun, ammunition. police say the 2 suspects went to a business on the lindsey is street near venice friday night. one of them flashed a gun at the store employee and they did not clarify what was stolen or if employee was hurt. all right. take a look at this album. 85 cruise health and free a teen in this stuck in the mud. this happened right near the seeing no boat ramp yesterday afternoon who say the time rising while the team was stuffed deep in the mud. well, after he was rescued yet to be day to the hospital. we don't have any word on his condition. and community

leaders in san francisco that on a press conference at 11:00am to celebrate their successful advocacy for the restoration of acupuncture is benefits in the state budget. governor newsom may budget revision propose to eliminate acupuncture from being covered under medical, which caused quite an uproar in the asian american community. fortunately, the final state budget announced on sunday they restored the services to low-income and other individuals who get their health insurance coverage for medicare. how? they area native cindy chavez set to become a county manager in new mexico shot is currently serves on the board of supervisors for santa clara county. chavez has been working in the bay for more than a decade. she lost san jose's mayoral race a couple years ago. coming up next on the morning news warriors unveil a new logo and jerseys will take a look at that.

bit of coastal drizzle as part of that cool russian bear and some of that fog as well right now as seth as well as sandra fell, we can get some of our breezier conditions around. 25 miles per hour for your current winds and those spots, skies are otherwise clear and dry. all that moisture that had been associated with tropical weather is now on the outs and we've returned average. if you like the feel of yesterday, you liked today because we're putting a lot of the same factors right now. we're in the 40's to 50's out there. nice way to start your thursday. petaluma at 51 oakland, alameda at 56 degrees. later today. we will be looking ahead to temperatures in the 70's to 80's. nobody's quite getting to 90 degrees just yet. we'll save that for later on in this forecast, which i've got the details of still to as for your roads, things are moving along a ok at the bay bridge still below 10 minutes for your crossing there. love to see crossing at the bay bridge. definitely a busy one at the san mateo bridge, but no slowdowns just yet. we'll

have to see what this commute looks like an an hour or so. richmond center fell at 7 while the golden gate sitting under a little sunshine out there. but you can see the fog there on the left side of the screen. all right. eventually going to have a little more money there. but we'll talk about that in a little bit. >> time is now 5.30, san francisco is getting ready for their annual pride celebrations this weekend street closures in the downtown area. they start today conference. michael thomas live in the castro with all you need to know morning michael. >> hey, good morning, everyone. that's right. we're expecting a lot of people here this weekend and that comes with a lot of traffic, congested roads, public transit, of road detours. take a look up on your screen right now is a map of some where these closures we'll be in. it will start from today until monday and includes grove street between polk and larkin near the civic center plaza along with pope between mcallister and grove street, larkin between mcallister and marketing. fulton will be close and also between hide

starts and a own goal owners will trend line of the toll plaza with how much drivers i'm going to have to pay. good morning. well. >> $0.50 does not seem alive. but if you add it over weeks, months and years, my goodness, it's going to stack up. and that's exactly what's going to happen. as you mentioned, come monday, right now, if you cross the golden gate bridge, it costs $9. and $0.75. but on monday, new prices. and the sad part is if you need a across the golden gate bridge, this is the start of year one through year 5, expect to raise the prices $0.50 every. they are facing a budget deficit. so take a look at your screen. i want to show you the new prices right now. europe, a $9 and $0.75 to cross one of the world's most famous bridges come monday. you're looking at $10.25. if

you have fast track, it will be $9.25. >> carpool, you might want start calling some friends up and say, hey, you want to cross the golden gate bridge with me because it's considerably cheaper. going by yourself. it's $7.25 still. that's going up. at least it's not 10. 25 and again, this is year one of i-5 year plan. this is going to make it worse because get this rain has since 2019, the golden gate bridge has raised its prices every year. $0.35. and now it's going to be $0.50 several days for now, the golden gate bridge was hoping not to do this as aggressively as it is. but the federal funding that they got during the pandemic. well, that has run out. that's why they're doing this. and just in case you're thinking, well, i don't have to drive that can catch the bus ferry. well, you're not going to escape as well because come monday. that will go up.

that foreign terrorist groups like isis might explain increase gatherings associated with the lgbtq+ community executive director of san francisco. pride says and ford works with local, state and federal authorities. money is also spent on private security over half a million dollars on security ourselves for our own security. so with all that going on, we want to make sure everyone safer working very hard to do that. >> the fbi is urging law enforcement and the public to report violent threats made online or in-person. tom temprano is the managing director of external affairs at equality, california and says the political climate in the u.s. has fueled hate towards the community. last year there were over 600 pieces of anti lgbtq legislation introduced across the country, including right here in california, temprano travels to several pride events a year to urge people to vote and make a difference. >> saying californians have the ability in november to appeal proposition 8, which passed in 2008 as a state constitutional amendment intended to ban same marriage
