can see there heavy smoke pouring out of the building this morning. firefighters were able to contain it to the warehouse. so no other buildings have caught fire. they're still investigating the cause. and also breaking overnight, cal fire on the scene of a grass fire 3 acres and anglin right off for seeing dry officials are asking anybody nearby. please avoid the area. couple other wildfires that we want to tell you about. that sparked in the bay yesterday. this one forcing residents near brentwood to evacuate. no reports of anybody being hurt, which is good and no homes burned yet. crews say about 2250 acres burned. it is 75% contain and then in the south bay, fire crews have made for progress on this fire in san jose de. it's about 30 acres. this fire right now broke out about 6 o'clock last night

along communications. he'll just off of the guadalupe parkway. well, a teen has died and a critical condition after a shooting in hayward. so this happened yesterday around 02:00am on second street just around the corner from hayward high school. that's when police say they found a 15 year-old boy with gunshot wounds who later died. and then about 15 minutes later, police say another victim, a 13 year-old boy had to drive himself to the hospital. no arrests have been made yet and that 602 is the time and moviegoers in the east. they are on edge after there was a shooting in a theater in union city. so this morning police are still looking for the gunman who got cross for sara stinson with that story. >> moviegoers, tell me it's frightening to hear that shooting happened inside the century. theaters here at union landing. police say this is very rare. and despite their being no arrest, they do not believe there's a threat to the public. a late night movie at a century theater at union landing ended abruptly when gunshots rang out inside one of the theaters.

>> union city police say they got the call just before one in the morning. they began to evacuate the building and then clearing all the additional theaters as they had located a gunman on site. so they did make sure all the theaters were clear. >> and that the premise was safe and then they located the victim. a 19 year-old man was taken to the hospital. he's expected to be okay. investigators say they believe a dispute between 2 people escalated into a fight between 2 groups. sergeant brandon hayward says this kind of violent crime is rare in the in union city. this is, you know, very, very few shootings that we've had. >> this calendar year. so this is a rare event. that is a very safe complex. that's a place you can bring your family, have a nice meal, go see a movie and the movie theater parking lot. we spotted a car that was broken into police say they've been cracking down on car burglaries here agrees union landing are down. 52%. so they still happen. there's no way

until monday morning when things go back to normal. right now, we've got up on your screen, a list of those streets that includes grove street between polk and larkin near the civic center plaza along with pope between mcallister and grove street, larkin between mcallister and mark it and then fulton between hide and larkin as well. this will also affect some muni bus routes. and that includes 19. and 21. those routes have been adjusted and will remain that way from today until monday morning. take a look. this is for tomorrow. the streets will be completely closed down. it's very similar to the streets today. you can see that list there, but it includes one more down for growth larkin street mcallen mcallister. excuse me. but keep in mind, pride events are set to begin both official and unofficial today and throughout the weekend. so there's expected to be about a million or so people coming into town and to add more fuel to that fire. we've also got the giants are playing the dodgers set to face off tomorrow night and through the weekend. so there's going to be a lot. a lot of foot traffic and vehicle traffic back out here live. you can see roads are

and 60's at the coast. while 70's to 80's elsewhere. as i mentioned, no 90's in today's forecast. that is a number that's going to become more likely towards the end of the weekend. and then especially next week, san jose dublin as well. san ramon in the upper 70's will see in the and roanoke, london. i-72 degrees each well. any act in vacaville exact same as yesterday. some upper 80's for you. looking ahead, pride weekend. first and foremost, we will be seeing daytime highs really warm inland. but hey, the coastline and downtown san francisco going to be closer to those upper 60's to low 70's. so really good forecast for the parade on sunday in particular next week is when we really heat things up and we've got triple digits on the way come tuesday and wednesday, right? all right, john, roland bay, bridge 11, right looking good out there. >> mateo bridge around 40 minutes. richmond center fell 9 and the golden gate bridge. 37 of the tolls, 19 minutes.

nissan says deploying the national guard to crack down fentanyl is working the governor's office reported about 7 million pills, fenton. all they've been see since the start of the year. newsom first deployed members of the national guard in 2022. to help tackle the fentanyl crisis last year. the national guard help sees a record of over 62,000 pounds of fentanyl. recently announcing the state will double the amount national guard members cracking down on illegal fentanyl, including right along the soughern border. we'll time. 22 year-old man has been since nearly 3 years in prison for possessing fentanyl and meth with the intent to distribute the drugs and the city's tenderloin. johan murillo of san francisco pleading guilty to charges back in february. he was arrested in january of last year for carrying nearly 4 pounds of fentanyl about an ounce of meth. in addition to the prison sentence, real medina will serve 3 years of supervised release. >> starting on monday night clubs and bars in california will be required to have drug

tests kits in stock at all times. >> on what type of kid stay must have because general range that there's a lot of different items out there include straws stickers test strips. and so with the law says that these kids must be on hand. it does have a certain amount, but that it must be available to the customer. >> state officials have yet to decide on how much a business could be fined if they don't have those testing kits. lawmakers are advancing a bill that would prevent parents from being notified by their child's school if they decide to identifies transgenders part of the lgbtq community. our capitol correspondent eytan wallace has a closer look. >> well, emotions and passions certainly running high here at the state capitol. those on one side argue parents should absolutely be notified while those on the other side say doing so could put kids lives at risk is very difficult. not your parent. >> hopefully. people lives

unsafe. speaking publicly because i know as a mom as somebody who has a degree in child development that. my child and my relationship will be stronger if i let them come to me when they're ready. but this group disagrees. opponents of ab 1955. say school notification policies are necessary to ensure parents are kept in the know about their children. this is not the right policy. we need to be involving parents. >> but think about that should not be that the fault that we involve parents. instead, their policy is the opposite. >> if that school is going to be involved in changing their gender and you better well believe the parents are going to be involved as well. >> but this teacher who testified in favor of the bill says she believes educators like her should not have to tell parents i as english teacher, do not have. ability to have these conversations. these sensitive topics are outside of my purview of teaching english democrats on the committee agreeing with that assessment. eyes to knows

of the tolls, 20 minutes. >> more hardships for the city of oakland and enormous budget shortfalls threatening big cuts to public safety. so the cuts include the fire police department. >> rovers theresa breaks all down for us. >> oakland on the brink. the city facing a multi-million dollar shortfall. councilmember treva reid in a letter to the city administrator and mayor earlier this week saying that the deficit is around 177 million dollars and the general purpose fun. the bulk of that fund about 63% goes to public safety such as paying for police and fire. councilmember reid says that one of the options the city is looking at to balance a 2.2 billion dollar budget is cutting 63 million dollars, which could affect many programs as well as staff positions, adding on social media, quote, i feel the weight of this financial challenge with our community as i work to ensure equitable service delivery and investment is prioritized with

the services on which our families, local businesses in communities rely oaklanders want and deserve no less unquote. all of this comes to a head on friday. that is the next city council meeting on the budget. it all has to be finalized by july first, that is the beginning of the fiscal year. theresa kron, 4 news. >> a familiar face might be eyeing a run for mayor of oakland. this as current mayor sheng thao feature hangs in the balance following an fbi raid of a hole in the upcoming recall election. commerzbank herman has that story. >> i do not see a viable path. it was in late november of 2022. when oakland city councilman loren taylor conceded the mayoral election to sheng thao tell beating taylor in the ranked choice voting contest by a mere 677 votes. less than one percent. now with how dealing with the aftermath of an fbi raid as well as a recall election this november, taylor is gearing up to fight for oakland again.

deported flashing either a bad or immigration paperwork that that they said identified themselves as ice agents. in one case, a dana find themselves as fbi agents. >> and demanded to see identification and then had people hand over their wallets. >> these crimes happening in southern california, but investigators say the men are also being charged with kidnapping in robberies in the east bay. they have court in orange county and then they'll face charges in contra costa county. in the south bay. a man is in jail, accused of a gang related shooting that injured a man in san jose. this happened back in march laughlin avenue near the grand century shopping mall where someone shot at a car and there was a man and woman in that car. the man was hit at least once and then ended up driving himself to the hospital where he is recovering. >> well, an open grandmother killed by a speeding car. last year's going to be street named after in her honor oakland city council approved the name of the intersection
