pride celebrations this weekend. live with details on the street closures that are starting today. >> from the area's local news station. you're watching the kron. 4 morning news at 7. >> and thanks for waking up and watching us ariana rain in for james this morning where a lot of celebrations avenue this yeah, we have pride is going to be very exciting. so let's check the weather. i yeah, i know it's going to be a busy weekend with pride going on in the city and it is going to be a weekend to hopefully get out there and enjoy it as much as possible. we've got a view in downtown san francisco this morning of a little bit of a breeze that's pushing right through there. >> pass the goal that bay bridge in the distance that just enough to keep temperatures moderated today. you can also make out a little bit of that low cloud cover in the distance with this northwesterly breeze comes a little bit of fog, mostly near the coastline, although absolutely most of the bay area's actually under sunshine all ready to kick off this morning as we move into the

afternoon, more sunshine continues. no chance of thunderstorms much like yesterday. we dry things back out now in a much more favorable and consistent forecast for outdoor plans 50's for current temps unless you're inland. brentwood in pittsburgh in the 60's. we did have some 40's this morning in the north bay, but temperatures are starting to warm up under that sun later on today. daytime high 70's to 80's again. this is a lot like yesterday was which for most of us wasn't really comfortable. one, i'll be breaking down your pride weekend forecast. still ahead, rain. all right. let's get you. roll your bay bridge right now. 62, right? no major delays there. your san mateo bridge, 70 80 to 101 which is center fell 14 and the golden gate. >> 37 of the tolls 20 minutes. time now is 701. and the breaking news we have just learned. >> that oakland firefighter has died. he was on vacation swimming in san diego, our sister station in san diego that this firefighter was pulled from the water about 2 o'clock this morning near

crystal pier in pacific beach, san diego news conference is expected shortly with details because we don't know the name of this oakland firefighter who died in san diego. but we'll keep you posted. all right. we have some more breaking overnight news. 70 firefighters are responding to a warehouse fire. 24 the wood street near 8.80, coming off the bay bridge. city's fire department tells kron 4 the warehouse is occupied by the pacific supply company. heavy smoke could be seen coming out that building even this morning. firefighters say the fire was danger that other buildings would not be threatened. the cause is still under investigation. we reached out to oakland fire officials trying to get more information. and nvpa. we also have some news cal fire on the scene of a vegetation fire. its 3 acres in angwin off of freezing and dry. officials are asking people avoid the area. we're going to update uses to get more info.

>> there's a fire turned drop their over this well fire. this one has sparked in the bay area forcing residents near brentwood to evacuate yesterday. nobody's been hurt no damage to buildings that we know that this point is 250 acres. and at last check, 75% contained. and in the south bay, fire crews have stopped the forward progress on this fire in san jose at 30 acres. it broke out about 6 o'clock last night along communications. he'll just off of the glove parkway. and nobody has been hurt. a teen is dead. another in critical condition after a shooting in hayward. >> this happened yesterday around 02:00am on second street right around the corner from they were high school. that's where police say they found a 15 year-old boy with gunshot wounds who died. about 15 minutes later, another victim, a 13 year-old boy, took himself to the hospital. no arrests have been made yet. time is 703. and movie goers in the east bay are on edge because it was a shooting at a

movie theater in union city. police say a fight led to a man being shot inside of the theater and now we're going to they're still looking for the shooter at this hour. go to kron four's. sara stinson for the latest. >> moviegoers, tell me it's frightening to hear that shooting happened inside the century. theaters here at union landing. police say this is very rare and despite there being no arrest, they do not believe there's a threat to the public. a late night movie at a century theater at union landing ended abruptly when gunshots rang out inside one of the theaters. >> union city police say they got the call just before one in the morning. they began to evacuate the building and then clearing all the additional theaters as they had located a gunman on site. so they did make sure all the theaters were clear. >> and that the premise was safe and then they located the victim, a 19 year-old man was taken to the hospital. he's expected to be okay. investigators say they believe a dispute between 2 people escalated into a fight between

2 groups. sergeant brandon hayward says this kind of violent crime is rare in the city union city. this is, you know, very, very few shootings that we've had. >> this calendar year. so this is a rare event. that is a very safe complex. that's a place you can bring your family, have a nice meal. go see a movie in the movie theater parking lot. we spotted a car that was broken into police say they've been cracking down on car burglaries here agrees union landing are down. 52%. so they still happen. there's no way to completely prevented from happening. but the numbers are actually starting to favor us pretty greatly. the theater was opened on wednesday with moviegoers in shock about what happened here so sad to know that there's shooting that's coming. mind-boggling. i mean, >> we want a safe place for everyone. come we come here for watching movies with family and children. okay. >> so this has you second guessing. you want to go see the movie right now? yes,

yeah. exactly. that's what she fears exactly. will she feel we just talked about and police are still working to identify the shooter? they do not believe that there's any threat to the public because they believe this is an isolated incident between 2 people. now police are asking anyone with video or information to come forward. i'm sara stinson reporting in union city kron. 4 news. >> well, in november you will be able to vote on a 20 billion dollar proposal aimed to bring more affordable housing units across the bay, but also help improve existing ones. so here's how much money each county would be receiving if voters pass a 20 million dollar bond, about 2.4 billion will be going to san francisco the same amount for saa clara county. san mateo county would be getting 2.1 billion, alameda county, 2 billion contra costa. 1.9, the rest, the bay area counties will receive under 700 million dollars. officials say about 4 billion would also go to fund a program for affordable housing, construction and preservation projects in 706,

in san francisco is getting ready for fried. the celebrations are this weekend. yeah. street closures already happening. kron four's michael thomas live in the castro. what you need to know morning michael. >> hi, good morning, everyone. we are expecting a lot of crowds this weekend for pride event and that comes with a lot of not only on the streets, but also with public transit. take a look on your screen now is a map of where that mean pride event will take place on sunday and the surrounding streets from there will be closed starting today until monday. now, this includes grove street between polk and larkin near the civic center plaza along with pope between mcallister and grove street, larkin between mcallister and market and fulton between hide in larkin. this will also be affecting muni bus for both routes 1921, which have already been adjusted for today until monday for those closures. so keep that in mind. if you do utilize that, take a look. this is another screen up on your television right you can

>> it's 7.13, and a bill aimed at protecting farm workers from extreme heat is a step closer to becoming law. this bill authored by state senator dave cortese from san jose would compel employers to follow existing state heat

regulations. we'll call for farmworkers who experience a heat related injury as well to be given timely medical treatment and be compensated while working as well. state law requires agriculture. employers provide shade hydration access, rest breaks and heat illness. prevention training this bill now heads on to an appropriations committee for hearing. it is 7.13, almost july 4th, just around the corner and fire officials are eggs really worried about, you know, not only illegal firework sparking fires, but also the health risk that comes with using them. they can hurt people as well as sparking a wildfire. >> you've already seen over the last couple of weeks, number of fires all over the state because our weather has turned hot. we're starting to get into our seasonal wind patterns. and so the smallest will lead to fires. >> smallest park cannot set off a fire at can. can also have you lose a limb. you several people have been good center. trauma centers, some

losing their limbs for illegal fireworks in santa clara county. they're recommending you watch the professional shows either in person or right here on tv. you can watch a cough or and i know some people personally that. >> we'll be trying to do that. so watch the professional shows. all right. it's all depend on the weather. we're not going to ask you right now. john. let's just stick with today the weekend from friday. >> understandably, it is a question like what's the fog situation going to be like for the fireworks show? and, you know, it's always that 50, 50 split of what that fog levels going to be. if you can see it at all. and hopefully we're got a good forecast for what we got this morning is a little bit of the low gray, but that cloud cover is sitting aloft at the coastline. this is your view of half moon bay this morning, which is looking pretty nice and clear at the moment we saw any sort of remnant precipitation, any sort of thunderstorm building out of the region yesterday. that means today and yesterday, very similar to one another.

nice dry, sunny and actually pretty comfortable too, courtesy. this low pressure and the dip in the jet stream bringing along with it. that brings us that cooldown still warm, but definitely not hot 70's to 80's. we can handle that fog at the coastline this morning. as you did see in half moon bay, most of the rest of us are looking at clear skies already and we'll see sunshine prevailing into the afternoon pride weekend for the city actually gets a little bit warmer. we'll still see some fog, especially in western neighborhoods. but if you're going to be the castro or downtown san francisco do expect plentiful sunshine and some pretty comfortable weather this weekend, especially towards pride sunday. today's daytime highs in the 60's for san francisco 50's and 60's for the coast and then lots of 70's to 80's elsewhere. nobody is getting to the 90's for the second day in the roads. we've got a solid break from that heat. san jose at 79 fremont. 74 dublin, san ramon, both also in the upper 70's today,

work week to traffic last year. well, some major artists are canceling summer concerts some cases, entire tours as americans are just tapped out on high ticket prices. jennifer lopez canceled her tour. so to the black keys, seatgeek said that the average resell tickets to attend a summer concert is down to $213 for more than 2.50, this time last year. well, youtube made up nearly 10% of all viewership on connected and traditional tv's and the u.s. in may, according to nielsen, netflix ranked second claiming more than 7% youtube which effectively invented user generated content. planes. the bigger share of the media consumption affect. disney says they talk about youtube about every meeting and have considered adding user generated content to disney. plus, well, new google study on gen z discovered some worrying trends about how they get their news. so found gen z can discern between reputable news, an ai-generated content, but they didn't care as much. also, they only read headlines and then rushed to the

comments to know what everybody's saying. also, they don't read long articles. they don't trust anything with ads or pay walls or pop ups asking for donations or subscriptions. live from the nasdaq market site. i'm jane king. back to you. it's worry what the story is. they want to know what people think. >> ok, that thank you, thanks. newsom says governor, says deploying the national guard to crack down on fentanyl is working. >> the governor's office reported about 7 million pills containing fentanyl. they've been seasons to start of the year news of deployment of the national guard in 2022. to help tackle the fentanyl crisis last year. the national guard help sees a record over 62,000 pounds of it. recently announcing the stay will double the amount national guard members were going to crack down on illegal fentanyl clean along the southern border. the time of 22 year-old man has been sentenced to nearly 3 years in prison for possessing fentanyl and meth with the intent to distribute in the tenderloin.

johan, the real medina of san francisco pleaded guilty to those charges back in february. he was arrested in january last year for carrying nearly 4 pounds of fentanyl about an ounce of meth. addition to the prison sentence, murillo medina will serve 3 years of supervised released. >> time is 7.19, and starting monday night clubs and bars in california are going to have to have a drug testing kit in stock at all times right there so that you can test or drink. >> wasn't specific on what type of kid stay must have because the general range that there's a lot of different items out there include straws stickers test strips. and so with the law says that these kits must be on hand. it does have a certain amount, but that it must be available to the customer. >> have great for people who are worried about their drinks. you know, right now you might covered up or take it with you and the concern what could be in it. but this

is what they're going to be doing starting monday and they don't know yet how the fines are going to go or what the regulations going to be like for places that don't comply. lawmakers at the state capitol have advanced a bill to prohibit schools from telling parents if their child identifies as transgender or lgbtq at school. the issue sparking controversy. some parents say that they should be notified. others say notifying their parents put children's lives at risk. >> students most impacted by force outing feel unsafe. speaking publicly because i know as a mom as somebody who has a degree in child development that. my child and my relationship will be stronger if i let them come to me when they're ready. >> the bill now heads to the assembly for a full vote. alright, community leaders to celebrate their successful advocacy for the restoration of acupuncture benefits in on the state budget. governor newsom's may budget revision proposed to eliminate acupuncture from being covered

look at your screen. police are looking for this woman in connection to a theft at a massage shop in oakland's montclair. so the owner of crown thai massages woman came in shortly after 6.30, monday evening stole $1100. going to george. he's looking around the business to business owners asking anybody who might recognize the woman. please call police. take a look alameda. fire crews helping free 18 who was stuck in the mud. this happened right near the in seminole boat ramp yesterday afternoon. crews say the tide was rising while the team was stuck deep in the month after he was rescued was taken to the hospital. we don't have any word on his condition currently. it's 7.25. and the spread of bird flu is being felt on the peninsula. now, san mateo county health officials are participating in a state program that offers

ppe for workers and dairy and poultry farm workers. cases of the bird flu have been detected in the bay area among birds and in other livestock, including dairy cows nationally around the country. there have been 3 recent human cases among workers in close contact with dairy cows. but there are no known cases in humans or cattle to date here in california, the cdc says that even though the risk is low, they're still recommending ppe for people who work at dairy and poultry farms. time now very a native city. chavez is going to become a county manager in new mexico. chavez currently serves on the board of supervisors for santa clara county. she has been working in the bay area for more than a decade. she lost the san jose mayoral race a couple years ago. so it seems she is on the move again. all right. still ahead, the problem morning news golden gate bridge crossing. it's going cost you an extra buck as prices increase is coming up

>> corey henson 6 feet away from 2 of 4 defendants convicted of charges in connection to her brother ben hermans murder addressing judge scott patton prior to sentencing wednesday morning in alameda county superior court, a last-ditch effort to convince judge pat and to dismiss the alameda county district attorney's office is plea deals which threw out the kidnapping charges for all 4 defendants. my brother was not at the wrong place at the wrong time. he was in his home. >> when these people entered his home and tied him up and removed him from his home nearly 3 years men was bound and gagged, then strangled to death and left on the side of the road in the oakland hills. >> in court, one defendant pleading guilty to second degree murder and he was sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison. the second pleading guilty to first degree residential burglary.

and he was sentenced to 6 years in state prison. judge patten saying he feels for henson and her family adding, though, that if these cases went to a jury, they could result in hung juries or no convictions at all. >> defense attorney, steve to philip u.s. agrees. i think would. >> ensign claims she learned none of the defendants would face firstdegree murder and kidnapping charges through a news release from da pamela price's office. i haven't heard one word from pamela price in a statement earlier this month, price stated the crimes were heinous, but the please ensure that defendants are facing the appropriate consequences, which breaks henson's heart. you cannot continue to let out these violent criminals. >> and give them the opportunity to really andrea fan and hurt our community over and over again. 3rd

defendant pleading guilty to a home invasion. robbery is due in court next month. and he faces more than 6 years in state prison. the 4th defendant faces residential burglary. >> and identity theft charges. but her case is pending and not yet scheduled for trial. >> in oakland, philippe djegal, all kron, 4 news. >> 7 32 2 men are arrested for attending to be ice agents targeting undocumented latinos. >> we're driving up to people that they thought were going to be fearful of being deported flashing either a bad or immigration paperwork that that they said identify themselves as ice agents. in one case, a dana find themselves as fbi agents. >> and demanded to see identification and then had people hand over their wallets. >> these crimes have been happening in southern california. investigators say the men are also charged with kidnapping in robberies here in the bay area in the east bay. they're set to go to court orange county first and then face charges in contra costa county. it's 7.33, in

the south bay. a man is in jail accused of a gang-related shooting that injured a man in san jose. the shooting happened in march on the laughlin avenue near the grand century shopping mall. that's where a man and a woman were in a car when somebody shot into the car, the man was hit at least once and drove himself to the hospital where he is recovering >> a familiar face might be eyeing a run for oakland. mayor. this is current mayor shane town's future. >> hangs in the balance following that fbi raid of our home and an upcoming recall election. proffers kerman has that story. >> i do not see a viable path. it was in late november of 2022. when oakland city councilman loren taylor conceded the mayoral election to sheng thao tell beating taylor in the ranked choice voting contest by a mere 677 votes. less than one percent. now with how dealing with the aftermath of an fbi raid as well as a recall election this november, taylor is gearing up to fight for oakland again.

>> you will likely see my name on the next mayoral election ballot. >> taylor says the reason he'll run for mayor again. if thao loses the recall is no different than the first time to allow oakland to rise to its full potential. first and foremost, we've got to restore faith and trust in government rebuild the relationship with the community, actually reach out and bring folks together not to say it, but do it how you lead and how you guy forward. and then we get with that solid foundation. we can address. >> the public safety crisis. taylor says oakland's problems have gotten worse under taos leadership and he says her response to the fbi raid. >> suggesting a right-wing conspiracy at the highest levels is par for the course passing blame, creating sort of misdirection. >> and on conspiracies and other things that it it's not be it's not the type of leadership that i think we in oakland's well, the last election is close.

structural one ongoing one other parts are more kind happened just recent debates near recent couple years. regardless, we still have to deal with that. there's trace of the matter. all the options we have on the table are bad options. there are no good choices here. there are no great. a great idea that there aren't any great choices here. there will be cuts. some of those cuts will be temporary cuts like refreeze, a position or several positions for year. some of those cuts will be absolute deletions. >> well, friday is the next budget before the council were hard decisions got made. council's planning on the sale of the coliseum to help ward off some of the most severe cuts money. isn't there. budget must be approved by july. 1st start of the next fiscal year. and oakland grandmother killed by a speeding car last year will get a street named after her honor. city council approved renaming that intersection foothill boulevard in vicksburg avenue to send to my away kron four's spoke with

sen two's family this time last year. the 73 year-old immigrated here from berman. she was on a daily walk with her daughter and granddaughter. she was hit and killed. speeding driver was eventually arrested and charged. well, bay area leaders calling on 18 t to maintain landline service for thousands of residents. currently the state legislature is demanding and they're debating the proposal that would release a tnt from its current obligations. there's some concern, though, that removing the land lines, residents in rural areas, no way of calling 9-1-1. you've got former congresswoman jackie spear speaking out on this. >> know the create a challenge. so land lines are really quite important for this region. if you're in the mountains and you have a family emergency or there's a violent storm or there's a fire you can't rely on your
